So I took my Sunup/Sundown swimthong. Didn't make a fuss, just pulled off my g-string (that I'd been wearing under my running tights) and donned the thong. Then walked to the sea, my butt clearly visible, and got in the water. Nobody said anything. A refreshing change from swimming pools! Haven't otherwise got to the beach yet - despite it's being definitely g-string weather.

Wore my Gemali g string exclusively.On Sunday high water restricted beach space & also more people as weekend & holiday season now underway. Picked my spot with others in clear view. Decided what the hell & donned the g string. Entered the water in full view, swam my usual stretch & returned. Lay down to dry off both front & back. No obvious reaction at all. Proves what others have said if you act normally there really is no big issue in wearing minimal beachwear. Three young ladies on the next patch all wearing red cheeky bikinis. I also walked the beach as one does & no one batted an eyelid.

Three thongs sighted in the space of a couple of hours this afternoon. First was a girl, 30-ish, part of a group of four of similar age. All were in bikinis. Two were fairly conservative, one was skimpier, bottom half was strings at the side and full back, with two triangles at top held together with strings. Fourth girl was in white g string bikini, fairly small triangle at the front, nothing at the back, just string round waist and up arse crack. Top was two pretty small triangles covering nipples rather than tits, all held together with strings. Second sighting was two girls together, early twenties, clearly in bra and thong, rather than bikini. One had matching maroon coloured set, lacy and skimpy bra and thong, other had black bra and white lacy g-string. Tuft of dark coloured pubes fairly clearly visible through the little g-string. Neither were making any attempt to cover themselves or be discreet, presumably had made a last-minute decison to sunbathe. Lot of guys around in shorts, few in what were clearly boxers underwear rtaher than swim shorts, but no male thongs, or even close. Any other sightings yet? |

Water temp now about 19c & most acceptable for UK waters.
On last occasion an amply built wife wearing a scanty bikini bottom sunning topless right in the middle of the main drag - good for her.

This latter more or less staying in place when among the breaking waves, even though waist band getting a little weak. Witnessed a couple one day set up between their wind beak & groyne. She, sitting up wearing a standard bikini. He lying down, front up, clearly wearing a minimal string suit. On another occasion, when walking back in shorts & t shirt, was asked by a family group lady whether I had enjoyed my swim. We pleasantly chatted for a while. She must have noticed my lack of attire as I had strolled the beach when drying off. |

I will pass the time of day with anyone strolling by but virtually everybody is minding their own business, talking among themselves or keeping an eye on the dog! As reported elsewhere I am sure the key is just acting normally. |

Sea temp 18c - good for these waters.
Several swims, wearing either a Gemali g string or just acquired J Snyder g string. This latter has adequate pouch compared with Interparta naturiste and thin elastic surround gives right amount of secure grip when swimming with absolutely minimum cover so highly acceptable. Very comfortable to wear.
As others have said, when one wears a new briefer suit anything with more cover becomes almost redundant.
Cheeky bikinis in evidence with the fair sex.

Previously I have packed a suit with (some) back cover just in case.
Didn't bother this time. Just took the g string. Needless to say no issues - just takes a bit of courage at first, then becomes second nature.

Only conversation was with a couple whose dog had padded over to say hello. Water temp 19c so quite balmy for this neck of the woods. |

Sandown bay in the morning, Compton bay in the afternoon to follow the sun. Water temp still 18c+ so quite acceptable. Wore either Gemali Jovana or Snyder g string. This time I didn't bother packing a string bikini with back cover 'just in case' as previously. Maybe I haver got bolder but at no time was I ever aware of anybody taking the slightest interest in my minimal cover. Maybe the secret is keeping to oneself, acting normally & not drawing attention. |

Good to read of your UK sea swims this summer - I managed a few dips off beaches in Wales last month, as usual I was by far the man wearing the least material on the beach, but also as usual, nobody cared - nice casual vibe, everyone doing their own thing ... I didn't quite wear a thong this year but very brief bikinis/tangas. I found the cold sea harder to enter this year for some reason.

Our sea temperature now down to 15.5c so probably too cold for me unless plenty of warm sun when re emerging. Next time just wear the thong. For many years I sometimes wore a brief string bikini but this last season I didn't take it to the beach, making the thong/g string mandatory. Not a single reaction from anyone as already mentioned. String bikini now worn at local lap pool. |

That left me with my Jovana extreme micro g string - what the hell, just got on with it & no obvious reaction. 3) Got to the beach this morning to find I had failed to pack even the Jovana. Very few people about so I decided to skinny dip, which included quite a walk to the water & back. I rather enjoyed the experience. Lying out to dry off I positioned a bit of towel over the privates with the increasing numbers of beach walkers now passing. No problems at all. |

Not sure yet what to wear I, will take a recently purchased Kiniki Cuba and Desmit Thong as well as a much used swim G string.
Difficult to find nice replacement swim strings now. |

Not been down there for years, its now a bit easier to access, although there is a sign erected by the Council "Elf & Safety police", telling you its a danger to life?
Sea was cool and refreshing, but the beach shelves very deeply with a strong under current, be ware !
Wore the new Desmit Thong and well used Klem Swim G.
Might try Yaverland today, better for swimming. |

Date Posted：06/10/2023 08:47:17Copy HTML Shepard's Chine is not far past Whale Chine, go past some Cottages on the seaward side and look for two gates on the LH side, in between the gates is a foot path entrance leading to a footpath with a fence one side, follow the path, it them becomes a gravel track with pipe laying at the side (I think it may be a vehicle access for a Southern water pumping station) then on to a narrow foot path and wooden steps to the Beach.
About a 6 min walk. Well worth a look, but watch the undercurrent.
Parking is limited but you can park both sides of the Military Rd on the grass.
Yesterday I went to Yaverland, again very quite but it clouded over so left after a hour of so. |

And don`t get me started on the cost of parking the car !

No other thongers as is the current trend.

@seaswimmer2007 - yes Luccombe end, a little past (now closed) Appley steps. At LW plenty of 'private' beach well away from passing dog walkers etc. In the morning & when sunny, as was Saturday, sun reflects off the cliffs & makes for a very warm beach. Sunday was a little grey so about 20 minutes swimming but no sun bathing. At HW much less beach but no passing traffic so equally private. |

Lady commented I was brave to go swimming, referring to the apparent water temperature. Proves yet again - act normally & no big deal. |

Decamped to Compton Bay which faces SW & therefore sheltered on this occasion.
First time I have openly g stringed there, in & out of the water. Absolutely no problem with passers by or anybody else. Air temp was a superb 26c - way above what would be a normal September temperature in this part of the world. Magnificent!
