I'd be willing to help if needed. I have an eamil account and many other ways of getting ahold of me incase of a problem.HOPEfully we wont need it, but every now and then, some help is needed. The main reason I offer is incase we need "time zone" moderators incase this thing gets as big as the thong message board that was recently shut down.Let me know.Welcome aboard everyone else!

You offer of moderating is very helpfull. For the first fiew weeks I am just letting things find there own course and trying not to do any moterating or censorship. Some posts were deleted where people have made blank posts or have double posted. I have moved one or two messages that were obviously in the wrong spot but other than that It has been very hands off. At some point I will have to get on with other things in life and will not be able to check back several times a day.

At the moment I am letting the postings follow their natural course.  Instead of jumping down the throats of some people who were a little, ?ahem ?off the mark, I just let things role to see if the board would self correct. On the hole, out of 300+ posts there have been very few stupid ones. To them the members have either responded rationally or given them the full measure of attention they should have, I.E. ignored them.

Right now I am not sure what moderation needs to be done. Out of 300 + messages I have only edited one users post.  A youth of 12 listed their real name, I repalced it with there board user name but left the post unchanged. But spelling corrections, that? different. I am an appalling speller. If you notice spelling mistakes on the main headings or forum notices please let me know, just send me a private message, thanks.

I can see a time in the future where some sections of the board are only for people with registred user ID's.  It would meen you would have to login to post in the restricted sections.  This may incourage people to get a real ID and become involved.  RIght now I want to keep it all open so that any body can post in all the sections.  If we start to be invaded by stupid kids with silly posts then that would be a good way to control the problem.

I know that you would probably like to shut down one or two users self premotional posts but I think if left alown the posters will move on to another subject and we wont get any ones backs up.  One of the useful things to do is just use the report to Admin feture when you see a message that needs dealing with.

I am still working on getting the board settled in. We get a lot of browsers. At any one time there are maybe 4 or five guests loged in for each registered user. We have a critical mass problem. If we dont have enough regular contributors we wont have enough going on to attract people back. People will come, hang round for a week or so, get board and find somthing else on the web to do.  Trying to get it listed on goggle does not seem to be working. I am bowed if I will pay a bribe to a search engine to get listed.

Ok JM, not a problem.

If it's needed in the furture, I'll be happy to offer a helping hand. I also havent seen any threads that I think needed closing, but I know after a well developed member list from the other board, flame wars broke out every now and then. I'm not one to go nuts with hitting the dlete thread button, I'd just keep an open mind and add "water to the fire" as needed.

If you get restricted access messages, use the Sign Out option from the menu at the top right, clear your browsers cookies, then Sign back in.
Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
First paste it into notepad or other basic ascii editor so that the formatting codes are removed, then cut again. This will give you clean posts.
