Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:06/06/2023 01:39:10Copy HTML Went to Sandy Point on Monday. The east beach was full of school kids so I decided to try the connector beach. It was a good decision. On this beach there were 2 other thongers and just 1 or 2 families. The day was sunny, with a nice breeze. The haze of the last week had left, although I heard it may return tomorrow. The only traffic were the lifeguards and a few guys with their fishing gear. Even the water has warmed to near 70. I may return later this week. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:06/30/2023 01:46:25Copy HTML Despite the thick haze, it was a very pleasant day at Sandy Point. The haze must have been only at the lower levels because the sun was strong but the bridge was invisible from the east beach. Because of the red flag warnings most people stayed home. There were a few regulars and maybe 3 families spread out on the beach. The camp kids were there but only for about 45 minutes. Just a few lifeguards drove by. It was a warm day with a nice bay breeze. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:07/28/2023 11:41:01Copy HTML Jellyfish--The water just north of Sandy Point had a lot of jellyfish yesterday. Probably more than I've seen in a long while. I've also seen some this morning, but not as much. So Sandy Point probably has jellyfish. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:08/16/2023 11:33:22Copy HTML @sandypoint, Never! Lol. Weekends are super crowded. If you are going, get there as early as you can. The park is usually full by 10 AM. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:08/17/2023 01:48:45Copy HTML I saw 4 male and 1 female thonger at Sandy Point on Wednesday. There seemed to be more people on the East Beach than my previous visits. Still a great day without the nettles or the flies. Full day of sun and an onshore breeze. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:10/05/2023 07:25:21Copy HTML I was out there on Monday trying today some of the last warm sunny days before winter in my skinz gstring. Set up on the middle of the connector Beach. Obviously I was seen as people passed by and set up at the end of the connector. One guy had what I later found out was a ham radio. As i wrap the towel and went to talk to him, woman nearby said "I really like your style!" I gave her a little bit of a puzzled look and the guy next to her said "you're trying to get an all over tan" and she clarified saying "you and your suit... Keep it up!". Talk to them and the radio guy for a bit. Was a great day. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:10/08/2023 01:19:03Copy HTML I don't think connector beach is an official name but I have heard the area being referred to that here. It is the area south of the north/east beach, and north of the main beach after the bend and the boat launch. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:05/21/2024 10:59:17Copy HTML I live in Northern Virginia but never been to Sandy Point, beacg. This may sound obtuse, but I can't quite figure out how to determine where the thong friendly beach might be. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:05/21/2024 05:08:33Copy HTML I plan on making it out there a couple times this year. I will probably go during the week when it’s less traffic and people. Hope to see some fellow thong wearers. I also wear my thong on Ocean City Maryland beaches. I tend to later in the day and stay back around the dune area. Never had any problems there. TJp lol

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:05/27/2024 04:43:29Copy HTML Glad to hear of another Ocean City thonger. The beaches there—while long and deep—are seldom hosts for male thongers and maybe I’ll someday see you around 133rd St.

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:06/18/2024 01:00:59Copy HTML Went to Sandy Pointe last Friday. Perfect weather. Set up on north beach and stayed for an hour and all of a sudden a swarm of 60 kids came running onto the beach from out of nowhere. The quiet afternoon was over. Myself and a couple others packed up. I moved over to the south end of the main beach for about another hour before calling it a day. Great weather, didn’t see any jelly fish, and the flies aren’t out yet. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:06/20/2024 02:41:56Copy HTML @East_Coaster. Those were the summer camp kids. They are usually only there for an hour or so and stay up on that end. Some might come down to play volleyball. Usually not an issue but the south end great too. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:08/28/2024 06:20:04Copy HTML It looks like later this week might not be so terribly hot, so I might finally get a chance and have the courage to try Sandy Point. Is it still a desirable thong friendly location? |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:09/07/2024 08:29:43Copy HTML @Felsen
I've never had an issue there. I make it a point to wave or say "Hi" to everyone who walks by. It might be better to go East Beach or the South side near the bridge. Avoid going on weekends if possible. Go with confidence. Don't make it weird. Remember, if your jewels are covered, you are legal. I'm going to try to get there when it warms up next week. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:09/12/2024 11:42:21Copy HTML Thanks JM.
I went yesterday mostly to fly my drone. I figured, I'm already here, might as well enjoy it. I brought a towel and sunscreen. I stripped down to my g string next to the beach at a shaded picnic table on the south end. Easier to take off and land at the table vs the sand. I took some selfies a videos of me in front of some popular landmarks at the park. As I was flying along the water's edge a cop came up out of nowhere! He identified himself and informed me that I was being recorded and video'd. He said he had a complaint of a naked man. I said I'm not and he agreed. I asked him if i could land my drone before we talked, again he agreed, using the opportunity to make some radio calls. Looking for something to bust for, he asked if I was licensed and certified, Which I am. He asked I had permission from the park to fly, which I didn't need after Labor Day. After a brief chat on the radio he returned and said Have a nice day. Lol. I stayed 2 hrs and used up 3 batteries. Not bad for a work day. Lol |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:04/22/2025 12:52:15Copy HTML I went on Friday the 18th. The south end of the park is tore up for construction and improvements. They are allowing people to park in the left lot and the satellite lot where the small craft launch is. It was a little chilly on the water still but I did get my gate card and got to see what was going on. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:08/01/2025 08:57:35Copy HTML I went several weeks ago on a sunny weekday and set up at the north beach. It was nice and quiet so I wore a c-string. Around noon when I was on a walk away from my things, a busload of kids all of a sudden started approaching. I picked up my pace and got to my chair and changed into a g-string. A few minutes later, the police officer shows up, introduces himself and tells me I did nothing wrong but he has received a complaint that I'm not wearing enough. He asked me to move further down toward the jetty but told me I didn't have to if I didn't want to. He was really nice and courteous . I said no problem and that I didn't want to be a bother to him so I moved from the volleyball area to the jetty area and hung out there rest of the day. It was really nice day although I did get a bit burned. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:06/05/2026 02:10:43Copy HTML Possibly going sometime on a weekend. Where do you like to set up? I'm unfamiliar with the geography and names so please be specific. What is the atmosphere like? Accepting of thong wearers? I wear very conservative, fully-lined, traditional thongs, so coverage (other than a man wearing a thong swimsuit) is not an issue. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:06/06/2026 04:55:40Copy HTML -Decided to go today. Set up near the bridge but not all the way down. Quite a few people here but it’s more sparse near the bridge. Got some looks. Later on some younger girls set up near me, all wearing skimpier coverage bottoms.
-Heavy, heavy police and ranger presence at the entrance.
-It’s nice here; I like it. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:08/25/2026 12:10:48Copy HTML Anyone know what's going on with the East Beach parking lot? It's been reserved for shelter reservations on the days I've gone this summer. I've yet to check out that section. |

Re:Maryland - Sandy Point Date Posted:08/26/2026 05:30:39Copy HTML East Beach parking lot has always, as long as I can remember, only to be used for shelter reservations or in the late afternoons/evenings ball park teams. If you park there, Park Rangers will find you on the beach and ask to move your vehicle. You have to use one of the Southern parking lots and walk around to use the East Beach. |
