Date Posted:07/28/2005 04:39:25Copy HTML I have, on occasion, met some of the people from this board in real life. The other week I met two in one week: That's unusual. (One of them owes Lisa some pictures.) It's unusual and some times unsetteling to to meet some one youonly knowthrough cyberspace. But I find that once I get to know them they are pleasant enough chaps. In the past I have been a little wary about agreeing to meet up. Because my schedule is often difficult to pin down, but also because I felt that I did not ?need' to be with other male thongers, or really have a want to hang out with them.Over the years my attitude has changed: I now rather enjoy the occasional beach meetings with other thongers from the board.I have been pleasantly surprised by how genuinely nice the people I have met are. They don't live up to the creepy old men in thongs reputation. Even OldPro, who is, as he advertizes, getting long in the tooth, is friendly and definitely not creepy.
Some have stuck around and chatted for a bit, or even hung out withmy friends, if friends are withme at the beach. (Lisa said "Send her pictures!")Once in a while, if they are only in town for a day, they have arranged to meet me for Breakfast. Oftenjust stopping in before loading up to go on a cruse ship. Fort Lauderdale is a major embarkation point.More comonlythey intercept me on the beach. It starts something like this: Guy in a thong waves me down and says "Hay, are you JM?" After confirmation and hellos, the chap normally goes on to tell me what his posting name is on the board. (I must admit I normally can't remember them.) Then we chat a while before having to go and get on with the rest of the day. Some times, when out running, I pass a man or women on the beach who looks like they want to stop me but then lose the nerve. Don't be shy. Lot's of people do stop me for one reason or another. Someare acquaintances who stop me to talk about running, or mutual friends. Othertimes it's total strangers. I get a kick out of it when they are women who ask if they canbe in a photo with me. (I have noticed that when groups of collage girls are down during spring break, they will ask, but the rest of the year people just take sneaky shots.)So don't be one of the people taking sneaky shots, or one of the people too embarrassed to talk to the ?almost nude runner dude', just come out and say "Hi", before I run passed and the opportunity passes.P.S. If I am running in a direction that is going away from Las Olas Blvd, there is a very good chance I will be back later. I start and finish near Las Olas.

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:08/04/2005 11:41:16Copy HTML Would any of the board members be interested in a thong Sunday in our respective areas?
For instance all the members in Pinellas could get together at the Fort on some Sunday in the coming weeks. I'm not talking about some clandestine meeting on the north end, I mean one of the shelters with a cookout girlfriends, wives and kids. Well maybe not kids! Anyone interested? |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/02/2026 03:55:33Copy HTML Wild Idea? for those who want to be recognized of the beach by other board members a recognizable "gang sign" would help!
Maybe a small flag planted in the sand -- with the green color from the background skin of this website!
If you know you'd know!!
Wouldn't even have to have "Thongboard" lettering. With a printed flag you'd probably be bothered curious people approaching who have bad eyesight, want to read the wording and who aren't interested in the subject or some Karen who thinks you're going to "take over" "their" beach! No it doesn't say "Tan Lines Matter"! |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/02/2026 07:24:41Copy HTML I have a thong pride (black and white) flag that I regularly fly both with and without a pirate flag when I am at the beach. I got the flag off of Etsy. It’s the outline of a male wearing a thong. If you ever see a flag like this stop and say hello. It’s a good way to let people know there is a man wearing a thong and is proud to do so. |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/03/2026 10:44:16Copy HTML Well over 20 years ago I answered a guy’s question on another board (should he bring Euros or stick with dollars for an upcoming trip to St. Martin). A few weeks later during a nude catamaran cruise on St. Martin there was this guy who (good naturedly) started busting my shops about the Red Sox hat I was wearing – he is a Yankees fan and you know how they can be. At any rate, it was the same guy whose question I answered. Living in adjacent states we have kept in touch with he and his wife ever since. They have spent nude afternoons by our pool and have become regular visitors at our nudist camp where our friends have become their friends. My advice to anyone hesitant about meeting someone from a message board is to do it, you just never know. In Bogie’s immortal words, “this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship” in spite of who roots for whom. |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/03/2026 04:17:09Copy HTML I’ve met a couple of folks. One person I run into a few times a summer. I don’t know anybody’s real name or have their phone number. |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/04/2026 11:31:19Copy HTML I have met two from the message board.
My first meeting with a member from Thongboard was in 2017. I received a message from a fellow thonger from New York who said he was coming to my city on a business trip. I met him at his hotel, and we went out for lunch. Afterwards, I took him to my go-to thonging spot, and we ended up going thong shopping together.
My second meeting with a Thongboard member was purely coincidental. I was out sunbathing in a thong at a beach in Toronto when a guy in a blue thong bodysuit approached me and asked if I was a member of Thongboard. He had seen my posts and recognized me because I was the only Asian thonger living in Canada. |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/04/2026 09:48:02Copy HTML ago. We met at one of my favorite spots. He was very nervous at the time. I think it helped him to overcome some of his fears of being seen. He has since moved from the area.
I met the second one last month. We met at the same spot. He stripped to his thong quicker. We enjoyed out time together for about 2 hours before he had to get back to work.
Both were married and wanted to be careful to some degree. It was nice to meet both guys. I sure wish more of the local guys around Atlanta would join me. |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/05/2026 04:36:25Copy HTML Hi Sam! I remember that day out at Van Pugh. Sorry I wasn’t more outgoing back then. If it were today I’d have stripped down to the thong much quicker. I do miss going to Lake Lanier. I’ve even carried my kayak all the way back to my truck in just my thong when out at Lanier Park and Mary Alice. |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/05/2026 04:42:49Copy HTML I have met 8-10 guys from this board over the years at Sunsplash Fort Lauderdale. I have chatted with guys who live near me in NC but have never met up with any of them.
I am excited to meet some new faces this month at Sunsplash 2026. We will have a Sunsplash Thongers Weekend flag displayed on our large tent at the beach so see y'all there! |

Re:Meeting people from the message board Date Posted:07/05/2026 07:01:14Copy HTML ATL_thonger,
Hope you and your family are doing well. IF ever in the Atlanta area in summer again, we should hit the lake. |
