Date Posted:03/11/2013 04:04:23Copy HTML Hi - We just got back from 10 days at N Resort, just east of Montego Bay. N Resort is an all-inclusive naturist resort; i.e., it is kind of like a Sandals or Couples resort except the whole thing is basically C/O. This means you don't need to wear anything at any time on the property, including the dining room (they provide and require towels), although you can wear clothes if you want and probably the majority wear something to dinner. You can wear a thong or g-string if you want but at the resort you would be overdressed. The really unique thing about N Resort for members of this board is the beachwalking opportunities. The beach is entirely undeveloped for about 2 miles west of the resort, meaning you can take your walk on a pristine beach in the altogether. After initial hesitation, I did this basically every day although I didn't necessarily walk THAT far. The only time you would encounter anyone is if there is a cruise ship in port at Falmouth, because the cruise lines have an excursion that uses part of the beach, but they are easy to avoid and don't even use the beach more than a couple of hours anyway. You just can't imagine how awesome it is to walk nude on a truly gorgeous beach for miles and miles and neither meet anyone nor even carry clothes with you ...
As for N Resort itself, the big pluses are the other guests and the staff. Our fellow guests were the most friendly people I've ever met on vacation and we made many friends and plans for next year as well. There are many activities and there was a lot of participation. Occupancy varied between 20-40 couples while we were there, which doesn't sound like much and it's not, but the resort itself is also very small so it never seemed deserted. In fact if there were 50 couples there it would probably seem crowded. Good entertainment at night although it's not a big-time party place. The place is small enough that you get to know the staff as well, and they are all great people, too. Food was absolutely outstanding as well. The drawback is that the place is still recovering from years of neglect -- there are obvious improvements underway; i.e. you can see fresh paint, new wood, they refinished one of the hot tubs while we were there, etc. Interesting observation was that almost every couple we met had (a) been married for many, many years, and (b) about 90% seemed to be repeat guests. Wife gave me the green light to go back next year. |

Re:N Resort Jamaica Date Posted:04/15/2013 01:30:03Copy HTML Does the place have any reefs nearby? Wife and I love to snorkel. Maybe snorkel boat by the hour or something available nearby?

There is a reef couple of miles offshore. The resort has a boat and will take you out whenever you wish for as long as you want to stay. Also, the snorkling is not too bad just off their pier if the water is clear. Sometimes the waves churn up the sand making visibility difficult.

I'll be in Falmouth while on Freedom of the Seas the first week of September. I may have to check it out.

Re:N Resort Jamaica Date Posted:07/23/2013 05:36:06Copy HTML Actually, while the resort does have a boat, it was inoperable when we were there, and from what I've read elsewhere, it's been inoperable for a while. It's on their "to-do" list but that is Jamaica time.
Also, you can do a day pass to N Resort and they will pick you up. Be aware that if you go on a nude walk west of N Resort, your fellow cruise passengers are apt to be using Red Stripe Beach, which is a fair ways down the beach from N but will still require a coverup. It becomes dork America for a while. And I went through there in a G with my wife and one of the recreation coordinators from N first before anyone got there, then when we came back it was hopping with dorks, and the people running the place complained to my guide about me (in Jamaican). Of course I had nothing else to put on so I just ignored them and kept walking. There wasn't much anyone could do but it was uncomfortable. |
