Date Posted:05/05/2018 02:57:40Copy HTML Any suggestions by Newport Beach (staying at the Marriott). I'm heading down that way with my brother and his wife on Thursday. I was going to try to get to Venice but realize it's an hours drive away and I won't have a car. My brother and his wife will be playing golf most of the time. I may want to get some sun on my buns while I'm there.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/05/2018 03:49:22Copy HTML Newport is cool, why go someplace else? The beach is broad, safe; it can be semi private to somewhat busy. No one should care. Walk around like you own the place (lots of rich people around). Take the bus or Uber to Huntington is you like more carnival type crowds, specially on the weekends.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/05/2018 08:02:06Copy HTML Thanks. I may check out Huntington. We're staying at the Marriott. Wonder if I can just wear a cheeky suit around the pool?

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/06/2018 02:33:16Copy HTML I agree with armand, when I'm in town I prefer the northern end of Newport, usually somewhere around 48th street.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/06/2018 03:21:01Copy HTML I tan at Newport all the time. It's a great place to wear thongs and nobody cares. I walk around in my thong and wave to the lifeguards and no big deal. There are plenty of girls in thongs and a few guys. I know of one other regular thong wearing guy. Huntington is good too for thong wearing. I can definitely vouch for Newport.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/09/2018 05:24:23Copy HTML Found out we are actually at the Marriott across from Crystal Cove State Park. Looks like an easy walk from the Marriott to the beach. I'd much rather hang out at the beach than the pool at the Marriott.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/09/2018 03:46:50Copy HTML I was in Newport Beach earlier this year. I have friends that live in the area, and while the husband was at work, his wife and I went to the beach together the first day. It was nice to have someone, especially an attractive woman, to lay out in the sun with. Thongs were very common on women, perhaps 10% or more with cheeky being at least another 60%. Guys in thongs was probably less than 5%, but nobody seemed to care, and I got a lot of compliments and "I wish my husband/boyfriend would wear a suit like yours" type comments and the usual "where did you get your swimsuit". Autumn (my friends wife) was equally glad to have a fellow thonger to lay out with since her husband is strictly a board short type guy.
The first day we had a blast. We found a parking place only a few hundred feet from the sand. Several times Autumn slipped her top off, first as she laid on her front, but as the day wore on, she got bolder and bolder. She would prop herself up on her elbows and let people see her breasts as they walked by. Later, she started flipping over with her top off, and eventually she simply left it on her towel, going to the water and eventually walking with me along the shorelinetopfree. I can't say how the lifeguards reacted since it was too early in the season for them, at least in the area where we were at. Autumn was having the time of her life, but ask me not to mention her swimwear preferences since she said her husband would "kill her" if he knew she was going topfree or wearing a G-string bottom as tiny as possible. For me, it was a rush to lay out baring my buns, walk around, and visit some boardwalk businesses in just my thong and with a very good looking woman at my side. Autumn saw her first baggie or sock type men's swimsuit that day, and loved the look. The guy who wore it set up very close to us, and mostly wore a thong as a cover up, but like Autumn got bolder as the day wore on, eventually just wearing it like any other guy would wear his board shorts. I don't know the legalities of what he was wearing, but others on the beach did do double takes, but nobody openly complained, and the fact he laid out for several hours without having the police or other authorities come by would seem to tell me that his baggie was either legal, or simply overlooked on a slow spring day. The second day, Autumn brought her friend Fran along. Everything that made the first day so much fun was multiplied by at least two because I now had two women keeping me company. Unfortunately, Fran did not wear a thong, and when I eventually ask her about her swimwear preferences, she admitted that she had worn thongs on the beach in the past but thought the more extreme cheeky suits to be more flattering. We were lucky that the parking spot we parked in the day before was again available, and this time we only took a fanny pack, our towels, and a small cooler to the sand. I had a baggie in my suitcase which I planned to wear on the patio or on the roof, at my friends house, but the fact we saw the guy in the sack the day before gave me a bit more confidence, and both women were quite impressed when I took my shorts off next to the car exposing just the baggie. I did throw on a thong over my baggie since I still didn't know if the baggie was legal. (I still don't know.) While I did not spend too much time in the baggie, and wore it only for tanning and once into the water, I could feel every eye on the beach watching me as I walked by. Autumn made sure to have me spin around every ten feet so people could see I had something on -- even if more minimal than a thong. Autumn got pretty hot (both from the heat, but also from my uninhibited display of skin.), while Fran seemed to take the baggie in stride. When it was time to leave, we headed back to the car, wearing what we had on when we left the car earlier that day -- just our swimwear. Unfortunately, Autumn parked in a private driveway she thought was a public alley and wound up getting our car towed. We had some cash and credit cards to pay the recovery costs, but none of us had anything but their beach wear to use when we went to recover the car. I had wondered how we got such a good place to park, only a few hundred feet from the beach. We wound up having to call UBER to get us to the towing place, and Autumn and I had to take he trip in just our thongs, while Fran had just a pretty extreme cheeky swimsuit. For some reason, we all thought about picking up some cheap T-shirts to wear in the UBER car, but none of us mentioned the idea to each other until later in the evening. I guess at some level we all wanted to wear as little as possible on the UBER trip and at the auto recovery place. The guy at the recovery place said something like "lots of people have to come here in there swimsuits since they get their cars towed when they are at the beach. He admitted that his roommate preferred thongs to Speedos or board shorts. The lady who was driving the UBER car, who was neither young or very attractive was extremely complimentary about my swimsuit, first saying something about the weather and how nice our tans were, but quickly changing the topic to how glad she was that men were starting to wear thongs more commonly, and how much she liked the look. Autumn told her I had on a swim sock and she was not familiar with them, but Fran agreed that it was an even hotter look. Fran and Autumn managed to hike my thong down enough to show the UBER driver my baggie, but the attention everyone was giving me had me a little turned on, and the UBER lady said she couldn't understand how I could keep it on if I got aroused. Now it is funny, but at the time having the car towed was not so funny. On the third day it was just Autumn and me again, we decided to get some T-shirts and stopped at a Beach/Surf store on the boardwalk. The male attendants sold the surf boards and stuff like that, the ladies sold swimwear, T-shirts, swimsuits, and other clothing mostly. I wanted a T-shirt I could wear with my orange thong. The lady took a long time showing me one shirt after another, and walking me around the store several times in the process. She would show me a shirt, then explain why she thought it would be good for me (color, fit, style, graphics, etc.) It was so refreshing to be treated so well, even though other places on the boardwalk were just as thong friendly. Often she would mention my exposed buns or front bulge with comments like "this shirt will show off your buns nicely since it is low in the back". Autumn had disappeared with another clerk, but when it was time to check out, she got to the counter where you pay was wearing a new thong. There were only G-strings on the back side, exposing almost every square inch of skin on her back and buns. But the front was the interesting part. One side was a spider web design (I don't know what it is called, but it is like five G-strings hooking up to a minimal triangle front). The other side was a conservative swimwear design. The top was similarly half and half with the spider web side terminating in little more than a pasty. She wore this the rest of the day on the beach and got a lot of compliments. I don't know if the baggies me and that other man wore were legal, but other than that, I can report that Newport Beach is very thong tolerant and/or friendly, and in he off season, the shop keepers are more than happy to see customers, no matter how tiny their swimwear is. |

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/09/2018 07:51:15Copy HTML Tell Fran that she is wrong. The cheeky suits are nice only for when thongs/g-strings aren't permitted by law. They definitely are not more flattering than a g-string. :)

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/11/2018 05:01:03Copy HTML Doesn’t look good for beach time while I’m here. Supposed to be overcast, mid 60’s , and breezy the whole time.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/15/2018 02:36:15Copy HTML Never made it to Newport Beach. I walked to Crystal Cove from the Marriott. Found there were a lot of people walking the beach but only a handful laying out. The beach is not wide so I would have stuck out majorly if I was there in a thong. I called Lyft for a ride to Newport but the driver recommended Corona Del Mar closer and not as packed. There weren’t a ton of people on the beach. I walked to the south end of the small beach and there were a few women in thongs. I found a spot amongst them without encroaching on anyones space. Was there for about 1.5 hours then went back to the Marriott. I did manage to swim laps a couple of days in a very cheeky suit at the Marriott. Weather wasn’t great, cool and windy.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:05/16/2018 01:19:19Copy HTML Hey, Beached_Santa_Cruz, good to hear you could get out there and enjoy the weather. Corona Del Mar is definitely a nice wide beach where you can find some privacy and strip down to a thong if you desire. A good place to have some quiet time in the sun. If you go to Crystal Cove again, you can walk all the way South where the beach widens up a bit and into a dead end at the cliff. This is a spot I have found some privacy and thong time in the past. Some folks are on their walks for exercise down to the cliff and back but there is enough space from the shore that you can have your own room to enjoy. On a quiet weekday, I have worn my smallest g-string on the south end of Crystal Cove with no issues. Lifeguards cruised near to make sure I wasn't nude, so I got up and walked over to chat with them so they would be sure. From there, I enjoyed the water and a nice walk as well.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:09/08/2020 05:39:29Copy HTML Headed down to Newport Beach September 21 thru 26. Just wondering if there were any updates on the area. We will be staying right on the beach near 15th street. Are there any hot spots for minimal swimwear? Any locals have a favorite spot to set up? Any info would be appreciated. :)

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:10/02/2020 11:19:01Copy HTML There was a young woman, in her 20s, at a Starbucks near the beach. She was wearing a shirt that came down to just below her hips. When she stretched, you could see that she was not wearing anything underneath.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:06/23/2021 12:57:26Copy HTML Went to Newport Beach yesterday, and am pleased to report that the vast majority of women and girls North of the pier were wearing thongs or VERY cheeky suits pulled up into thongs. I wore a semi-sheer teardrop bottom and top, and had families set up right next to me like it was commonplace. Sorry boys, only one thong and one speedo wearer all day. The thong wearer only stayed for about 15 minutes and was getting some obvious joking from a nearby group. What a shame. I did walk over as he was packing up and complimented him on his suit, so hopefully he won’t let the experience get him down... |

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:07/28/2021 04:17:57Copy HTML Spent the weekend in Newport at a house on Lido Island and wore a Bunn-G on the beach out back both days. No issues, some catcalls from folks passing by in boats, but that was it. |

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:11/17/2021 09:55:59Copy HTML Thonging in Newport is fine even for guys. I frequent Newport and neighboring city beaches without issue. Know that you can enjoy wearing your thong and hardly anyone will say anything. My experiences over the years have been primarily positive.

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:04/25/2022 06:54:26Copy HTML I was at Crystal cove state beach today. I was the only one in a gstring. Didnt see any thong, not even for women.
Anyway, it was great weather and the beach was fairly quiet. I did some walking along the beach. I also took a dip. Water was cold. |

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:10/20/2022 02:53:57Copy HTML I'm out in Anaheim for the week at work conference. Ducked out early yesterday to go to Newport Beach. Had a really great time! No negative comments at all! A few laughs from some younger children, it that's to be expected. I wore a thong (very similar to a Desmiit style thong) that I had made myself and received quite a few compliments. No other guys in speedos or thongs. Quite a few ladies in cheekies or thongs. When I was leaving I started heading back to the boardwalk and passed by a lady in a white g-string. She stopped me and said "cute suit...you're totally rocking it!". So I asked her to take a few pics of me, which she agreed. I ended up laying out and chatting with her for a little over an hour. Then when I was leaving (again lol) I walked back to the boardwalk and slipped my sandals on so I could walk along the houses back to where I parked. At one of the houses there was a group of five ladies (probably around 40ish) sitting out on the patio directly adjacent to the sidewalk. As I approached I heard one of them say "cute guy in a speedo coming". I passed them and heard one of them whisper "it's not a speedo it's a thong! Look at his butt!" and then another said "good for him! He looks great!".
All in all it was a great time at the beach. Hoping to go back today! |

Re:Newport Beach, CA Date Posted:10/24/2026 12:08:25Copy HTML I was at Newport Beach about 5 days to get sun in my gstring. Larger beaches to allow listening to the waves while getting some sun! Saw some cheekies and thongs on the younger crowd but no gs. Nice long beach. |
