Oh heck yay @hunnger! Glad to hear that. I've run and driven on the north end - seen how expansive the sand is. I'll have to try it this summer. I like the mid beach area because of all the college girls and eye candy. But it's so crowded, I am usually nervous about walking around. I imagine this summer will take cheekiness up another notch too.

I was at Wrightsville a couple weeks ago and while I didn't see any male thongs, I did see a guy walking down by the water with this girl wearing what looked like either a speedo or a sunga - brief and tight against his body. So I felt like that was a good sign. It's not even necessary to say thongs and cheekies were everywhere on women. About the time we were ready to leave four college-aged kids set up near us, and I had to do a double take cause it looked like one of the girls was naked under her coverup. Actually it was a very small string bikini with maybe 1/4 rear coverage. Enjoy this while it lasts. Who knows when the swimsuit equivalent of mom jeans will catch on.

Bird Island near Sunset Beach ( halfway between Wilmington & Myrtle Beach. From the 40th crossover go @ 1.5 miles to the west and past the mailbox and you are legal for TNT with fewer textiles ( they go to the mailbox, check it out and head back)

You could take the ferry to Ocrakoke Island and anywhere from the ferry station south towards town, you can park on the road and walk to the beach. I have heard that you can go nude in those areas. I would recommend anywhere along the beach where off road vehicle traffic isn't allowed. It will be quite less crowded and you will likely have the beach to yourself. Another option is between Rodanthe / Salvo / Waves and Avon, NC. There are several public parking areas and a short walk to the beach. Likely will have that part of the beach to yourself as well.

NCTHONGER is right on where the more secluded places on the Outer Banks (OB) are. But there is a difference between "you CAN go nude" and something like nudity is totally accepted or nudity is legal. Anyone can go nude most places. I could strip down in the center of town and technically "go nude" but likely would get into tons of trouble. Look at the places, even today, where streakers go nude in quite busy places -- but they often get caught and often have legal or court-ordered psyciatric treatments for what they did. There also is a slight perception issue with going nude and being a thonger. If people see you stripping out of a thong or putting a thong back on after going nude, they might associate thonging with illegal nudity and this creates a negative image for other thongers. Most of the park naturalists. lifeguards, and other employees including rangers could care less what you do or don't wear. Most don't want to be beach-clothing police. Back to nudity on the OB. Yes, it is common. Yes it is often accepted by others. Yes, many people who are discrete, keep an eye open and don't flaunt themselves to others can go nude. Just be sure to make wise decisions about which strangers might not like thongers and which wouldn't care. If someone sets up near you, cover up and ask if your nudity or thonging will bother them. Most will say NO if you ask nicely. Remember some adults are overprotective of children. Beach patrols here will sometimes (but not always) let those who go nude alone. If they get a complaint, they are more likely to investigate. There is a nude beach users club in Ocrakoke who work on trash pick-up, etc. and are all locals. Unless you live in the area for several years, don't even think they will accept you in there group. If you do run into them, however, you can tag along nearby in the nude. They are down right hostile to people who get too close -- man or woman. They are serious nudists and not having sex or contests of who has the biggest penis or who can cum the most. Nudity with a non sexual purpose is better than nudity for no reason other than taking off your cloths. If you are a man, try not to show a boner to others. A person who is a serious tanner and finds a discrete place to tan away from others is more likely to be accepted by someone who stumbles upon them. A person who is a beach walker or jogger and does not divert their path to come close to others is also more likely to be accepted. There was a man who I saw many days in a row running in the nude. Besides the fact he was nude, he was quite normal. After a while, he waved to us and when I decided I wanted to talk to him, it was almost a problem since he kept his distance. As far as where to go either to go nude (or to wear a thong if you are not comfortable in one) is to go to the least used parts of the beach. If you decide to park on the road (don't get stuck) do so where others are not parked for the most privacy. After getting to the sand, walk some distance from where you came over the dunes since other people may come along, see your car and realize that there is some type of beach access. Some people will be looking for a place to thong or go nude or topfree. Some will be offended if they come over the dunes and stumble across nudity. So being a distance away helps you to avoid others. Gawkers and casual visitors are less likely to park off the road or take a long hike to where you are. (Check for ticks every time you go through tall grasses anywhere on the OB since Rocky Mountain spotted fever is carried by these ticks and can cause permanent arthritis and other bad things.) My friends and I have spent many hours in the buff on the OB without any trouble. We probably have been seen by hundreds of people in our many trips. We just find a quiet area, keep to ourselves, and keep an eye open for other people who might be bothered by what we do or don't wear.

Spent a long weekend in Ocracoke last month and had a blast. Perfect weather for 4 days. We stopped off at the Hatteras Lifeguard Beach on our way down. Lots of thonged ladies. I wore a thong, no issue. Felt great to be back in the OBX. On Ocracoke, we mainly spent our days on the Ocracoke Lifeguard Beach because its so close to the village and has plenty of parking, shower and foot wash, restrooms and a lovely new boardwalk to the beach. The beach is more busy but still not really compared to other beaches I frequent. I usually wore a Skinz Stuffit micro g-string each day and had no issues. On our second day on the beach, we were front and center and I was pleasantly surprised how many people set up near us and didn't appear to care or bat an eye about my tiny swimwear. We had a group of 6 mothers (and their 8 children) all probably my age, spend the entire day within 30 feet of us. I wore nothing but a g. The next lot north of the village by the campground is a good spot to park and have a less busy beach but also more primitive access, no boardwalk, no shower and only a port a john. We walked the beach here for over a mile each way, I in just a thong. I definitely recommend Ocracoke, Hatteras (and Pea Island though its pretty boring being out there alone).

I have read that Masonboro Island has places where nude use has occurred, but you need a boat to get there. Thanks Martylouie, we’re staying at an RV park on 17. Today we went to Wrightsville Beach. We parked on the north end and walked from the bird sanctuary to the pier and back. Lots of people very few skimpy suits. A few women in cheeky suits but no thongs. We did pass by one handsome man reading a book wearing a tiny orange g-string. On our return pass he was in the water so we couldn’t talk with him. I wore super short shorts that show a little cheek and a long sleeve sun shirt. Tomorrow we head for OBX.

Hey Capedon, that was me today in the orange g-string. I've never had problems on Wrightsville Beach with minimal coverage. I had some older ladies on one side unabashedly take photos, and a couple of college-aged girls in thongs setup next to me on the other side. Family with kids also setup nearby who didn't even really look twice.

My wife and I went to Wrightsville a few weeks back.  Setup right in the middle of the crowd, both thonged the whole day, walked the beach and all.  Great day!

I was out there today. With school having started, there were fewer families and more than usual women in full-out thongs (vs cheeky suits, though plenty of those too.). Also two ladies in OPTs spent a good amount of time surfing. Also a first, I saw a guy strutting down the beach in a white skinny-sides thong (not one as tiny as the one I was wearing though....). Surf was a bit rough, but the water was warm. Not too crowded, so all-in-all, a pretty good day.

Saturday on Ocracoke was great. Many very tiny thong wearing bodies, tanning their buns. A nice ocean breeze, was great for flying my kite, while only wearing a micro pouch. A great week.

Wrightsville Beach NC report. Perfect solo lazy day at the beach. Nice crowd but not over crowded. I was right. I was the only man wearing anything above mid-thigh, never mind a thong or bikini. I saw five women in very tiny thongs. All but one were wearing halter style tops which was interesting. One of the halter/thing girls was carrying a surfboard. So the halter top was certainly practical. I stopped and talked to her for a minute or two. Lovely. The bikini top/thong woman was sunning in a secluded spot wearing a bright red string/triangle top and a gold thong. She was gorgeous. (They all were) Around half the people on the beach that morning were in walking attire not bathing suits. I arrived before noon and parked at the far south end of the island. Temperature in the low 70’s and sunny. The breeze was still a bit chilly. So as I stood by my car after parking I reached for a thin black long sleeve compression shirt. It was just right. While putting on the shirt, I heard “nice“ coming from the window of a passing car. I saw two women in their 20s and they were all smiles. I would later see them on the beach. There were a few people milling around the parking area but no reactions to what I was wearing. I took that as a good sign. As I walked down the path between the dunes to the beach a woman 20’s/30’s in age was coming the other way. As she kept coming towards me, I noticed she was looking at me very curiously. Openly staring. When I got close enough to speak I said “hello?” She said “oh, hello. from a distance I thought you were wearing some kind of a bodysuit! But now I see what it is. I like your bathing suit.” She said the tight black top overlapping with the black bathing suit looked like a one piece bodysuit or something. We laughed and kept walking. Now I was slightly self-conscious about this look. I kept lifting up the bottom of the shirt to show about a half inch of waist/midriff which was the look I was originally going for. I soon forgot about it, and I don’t think anyone else perceived it to be a one piece suit. I got all positive or neutral reactions as I walked on the beach. Women stealing glances and many times openly gawking. I didn’t see any men stealing glances, but a few openly gawked! I think they were just surprised that a man would be out there in a bikini. I walked for about a half hour down the beach. By then it was warm enough to take off my shirt. So I took it off, turned around and put it back in the car and drank some water. I wore a cap, sunglasses and my trusty Skinz rio. Now the crowd had picked up a little bit, and I was going to go for a very long walk down the beach past the pier and on. Again many positive reactions. I saw the girls that said “nice“ they smiled and waved at me. I returned the gesture. I caught a woman taking a cell phone picture of me, and quickly texting. A guy did the same thing. Another woman with an iPad who I thought had taken a picture of me the first time around, definitely snapped a photo or two this time. As I approached a group of middle aged ladies sitting in chairs talking, The conversation went silent as I passed and all eyes followed me for a few yards. A larger group of high school/college aged men and women were sitting on towels and openly looked and commented as I passed. I couldn’t hear what they were saying. I’m sure there were some sarcastic comments, but they were all smiling and the women followed me with their eyes as I walked well pass them. I was really feeling good at this point and it just got better and better. (Continued next post)

Wrightsville Beach part 2 (start with previous post) Nothing makes me (or any guy) feel better than when a woman openly turns to check out my package an ass in a tiny bathing suit. I caught a few women doing this when their husbands were looking at other way. What a blast! I could go on, but I’ll end with the only perceived negative reaction I got all day. Two guys and a small fishing boat yelled “yo-yo yo!“ as I walked by. I’m not even positive they were trying to be negative, but if so it was pretty mild compared to other incidents I’ve had. I’ll be back out on the beach tomorrow.

This was at an Atlantic Beach hotel, not on the beach: Stayed at the Palm Suites in Atlantic Beach, NC. The pool is small but had several lounge chairs. I wore a bright orange Daniel Alexander DA780 thong and had the pool to myself around noon. A couple of women in their mid 30s-40’s joined me in the pool area with some enjoyable chat about the water temp, music & more. After an hour or so, they left to get some frozen drinks & returned to the pool to drink and talk. We chilled under the big umbrella and talked more about music, massage, naturism and literature and by the time it was 3:30, they shared their room number, then left & I sunned for another half hour, or so. After sunning, I showered and shampooed at the outdoor shower & headed to their room, just a small towel over my suit. They were excited to see me and welcomed me in. I told them I was interested in following up our discussion regarding massage & offered them both foot massages. I had some amazing lotion (Sol de Janeiro) with me and proceeded to give them wonderful sweet smelling thorough foot massages. Afterwards, I offered full body massages & they were very happy to have a big strong guy in a bright orange thong proceed to give them a quality massage. I told them to undress to their comfort level & each, in turn, went topless with just shorts on. After nice massages on them, they said, now it’s our turn to return the favor. I then received a heavenly 4 hand massage with plenty of focus on the back, glutes and legs. I’m sure they could tell how my I enjoyed the experience since the thong was only barely able to contain its contents. After massages, we talked & laughed together & I asked them what they thought, when they first saw the thong-clad guy by the pool earlier in the day. They said they both spotted me and were trying to show each other the sight. They both said how happy our chance encounter was & that never imagined that they would end up receiving wonderful foot and full body massages from a nice, new friend! We exchanged phone numbers & I’m looking forward to seeing my new friends again in the future!

Saw several thongs at Cape Hatteras public beach. Lots of people around and no one seemed to mind!

Out on one of the beach ramp’s yesterday south of Salvo and had a ranger drive by while my girlfriend was topless and both of us in a thong. No issues as he passed us coming and going! That was the first time for me to have a ranger pass and we were out walking and no where near our vehicle!

I've been out to my favorite beaches a few times this summer and can report thong wearing has steadily increased for women, which to me, makes it more acceptable for men to wear small swimwear too. On two visits to Wrightsville Beach, I wore a thong and saw lots of college age girls in true thongs with string sides and tops. A couple guys in speedos. On three visits to Carolina Beach, thongs are prevalent for ladies, on and off the beach. I wore a thong and layed out on a crowded beach, sometimes with my wife, sometimes alone. While alone, I took a swim and was hit on my a lady 1/3 my age in the water. She was in a thong bikini and a top that barely stayed on. She complemented by suit and had followed me to the water to chat. It felt good. On a visit to Atlantic Beach, I wore a very skimpy tiny g-string and saw thongs on women walking by and in both directions. My wife caught a lady taking my photo as she walked by, lol. I haven't been to Kure or Fort Fisher this year but it's good to see that Kure got rid of their thong ban. On a visit to Jordan Lake beach, I wore a thong and layed out among many. Saw at least a dozen ladies in thongs there including a super sexy mom who sat in front of me with her kids.

Yes, it really depends on you. Families do frequent that beach but most when you first walk out to the beach. So I little walk down gives you a little buffer. I showered in my thong coming off the beach, no one was around but after a few hours of drinking I really didn’t care
