I spent the day at Playalinda and it was AWESOME! Beautiful weather, stunning beach and although i was the only thonger I enjoyed the day walking the beach and sunning in my thongs. I Highly recommend this beach...parking lot 12 and 13 are the clothing optional areas, which is where I spent the day. Pack in what u need for the day, there are no concession for miles around. I give this beach a solid 10!

So I am headed to Florida in a week and am debating west coast or east coast from Orlando to get some sun on a beach. Factors to consider are how long it takes to get to either ft desoto or playalinda. Can I get some advice please? I am looking forward to getting some sun in a thong this early in the year.

I tbonged at Playalinda on Cape Canaveral.  Drove to the last lot...i think 12? That's where the clothing optional beach is located. Although I was the only thonger out that day I had an awesome day, walking the beach and sunning in my micro male thong swimsuits. The beach is SPECTACULAR! Enjoy ThongerinME and hope u take pics!

I live in Titusville and going east from Orlando is the way to go.  The traffic going west from Orlando is often crazy and the distance is about twice as far as getting out to Canaveral national seashore from Orlando. Playalinda is lovely and undeveloped since it’s part of the huge national park.  after a several mile drive east through the park you have about 5 miles of road running parallel to the beach. There are 13 lots, as others have said, and number 13 is the traditional nude area. Keep in mind it’s not official :-)
But I have been down there in the last few weeks and I can tell you that there is a clothed and nude overlap as far down as parking lot number 10. You’ll have a great time if you get there early, like 9 o’clock or 930, and go all the way to 13. If it’s full (which happens fast on ANY decent beach day) just go to 12. you’ll find nudies there too. If you want to wear a thong you could probably do that without any fuss from lot 7 all the way to the end. Lots #1-4 seem to be lots of families with kids and teens. So maybe not the best for minimal wear. But the whole place is very chill. At 12&13 the crowd is generally adults and averages around middle age. all body types and lots of couples. Toward the far end of the beach at 13 you’ll find more gays and single guys. So, depending on what sort of crowd you like :-)
Every now and then some real beauties show up (if you’re interested in the people watching).Last week my wife and i where there and a young couple (like early 20’s max) was there with absolutely stunning bodies and then two days later another lovely young couple set up very close to us. Wonderfully pleasant. ?
Playalinda is a treasure. Have fun, behave, enjoy it! Drop by the Playalinda Brewing Company in downtown Titusville for some great craft beer and pub food too. ?

Playalinda is much easier from Orlando- especially the east side of the area where the airport is located.  St Petersburg and Ft Desoto is all the way around the bay- that's good for keeping away the crowds but less convenient when driving in from the east.CCNS is just Beachline Xway to 407 to I95N to Garden St/406, over the causeway and straight ahead to the entrance!

What a day for guy from Maine. It was pretty windy here at playalinda, but I set up a windscreen and took advantage of the warm sun. I was able to go for some nice walks and even walked nude on the beach were it appeared obvious based on others that it was acceptable. I Was like a kid in a candy store changing in and out of different thongs without any worry. Ranger drove by me and he could not have cared less. Seems as the afternoon continues a flow of others are joint. I was about half way between lots 11 and 12 for my textile sunbathing, and lots 12-13 for nude. I have a trip to Chicago coming up. I hope I can continue to get an early season tan line.

I was in Orlando for a week, and had two spare days, so I decided to go drive the one hour to PlayaLinda. I got there both days around 10 or 11 am. Lot 13 (the last lot), was not full either time, but there were only a parking spots left. Since I was going to be in a thong (I brought quite a few to change into and out of), I decided Lot 12 was a good enough. What I found was that Lot 12 was entirely nude too. I walked out and walked the length of the beach from lots 9 to 13 in my thong several times. The nude sunbathers stopped around lot 11, but there were still plenty of nude beach walkers. On my first day, at lot 11, there were two beautiful women (25-30) in string thongs and topless. I'd like to say that "they looked at my bare glutes with amazement and were jealous of my tan lines" (c)2007-2018 Mack Back. It was nice to see, and it felt nice they scoped me out too. No one gave me any mind in my Thong as I was entirely overdressed. And that's ok. It felt great, and I would do it again. (on the way out one day, I stopped at lot 5 and walked out onto the beach and for a few hundred yards along the shore. I felt more out of place. There was one woman in a thong bikini, and several younger teens in traditional bikinis. The young teens took photos with me in the background). Had I had more time, I would have set up and pushed my limits there.

@Chris_P_Bacon, Wow! I'm amazed that 13 wasn't full by 10 or 11. I live in Titusville and I don't even try 13 if its almost 10 - even on a weekday. But the scene at 12 and 11 has been as you describe fro a while now. I usually figure if I am between 11 and 12 thats about the limit of the nude tolerance. I've seen people fully nude at 11 but... I've gone in a thong at 4 and 5 and it really depends on the day. I usually don't want to make a big deal about wearing minimal swimwear, I just want to wear it. Although I AM a bit of an exhibitionist about it. My approach at Playalinda, if 13 and 12 are full and I'm not going nude is I'll wear the tiniest thing I have all the way down to maybe 7 and have fun with it. But, really, I think the expectation seems to be its increasingly a "family beach" as you go from 6 down to 1. I've been at 4 and there was a big local church tent set up with all the people hanging out at the beach together (they were also giving out sunblock etc). I already had on a very brief squarecut and was glad I didn't try to push it that day. I would have felt uncomfortable and would have just moved up to 8 or so. Glad you got out to Playalinda, though. Its awesome - all of it!

Got to Playalinda Beach recently for a couple of days.  They were cloudy and not warm so there weren't many people there. Got to wear some wild exposure suits or not. I saw a few interesting things.  The first day I got to lot 13 was unloading my stuff from the car and I look up at the boardwalk entrance and see a guy nude walking out to the road and looking around- then walked back in.  The second day it was a little cool only about 73 and some wind.  Some were wearing shirts etc to stay warm.  Leaving I had walked by a MF couple with her wearing a shirt , no bottom.  I went to my car and then turn around and they were walking on the road toward their car passing my and well to quote tweety bird "I tink I taw a puddy cat".  She was about 50 and fit and not shy I guess.  Her hubby had shorts and shirt on in the lot.  I saw another guy leaving talking to them by their car as they were packing.  She whips off her shirt after putting on some shorts and stood there talking to him topless and casual. I noticed they had put up several signs near the lower parking lots "On Boardwalk 13 you may encounter nude sunbathers"  Maybe this is leading to more casual parking lot 13?

Just a "by the way" about Playalinda (Titusville end of the CNS). I think, with the installation of the signs about lot 13, there is an increased "enforcement" attitude on the part of the park rangers. Wife and I were there a few weeks ago at lot 11. No nudes in view, one topless lass nearby. I was in a brief thong. No problem at all. HOWEVER, as we were getting ready to leave I peeled off my thong, dried off, and pulled on my shorts - but I was taking my time about it and not really trying to cover up since the beach was pretty quiet. A ranger was approaching on his 4 wheeler and zipped right over to give me a talking to. Something about "if I get complaints, I have to enforce the law" etc etc. Very vague but stern. I said I understood "thanks!" and then he went right over to the topless girl and said the same stuff. SHE gave him a hard time right back, tho, LOL. The point is, for a while the nude end was stretching, many days, all the way to 11-ish, but I think the signs are an effort to contain it all and keep the peace, keep everyone happy. Titusville has a very conservative core and a aggravatingly "law and order" county Sheriff (Wayne Ivey - as the signs and photos inform us all the time). So perhaps there's been push-back from the county to the park. There's LOTS of beach from 12 and up. PLENTY of space to wear thongs, go topless, go nude, and stay happily out of trouble. :-) Apollo beach in New Smyrna is a different scene. That whole county is much more relaxed. Stay down at lot #5 and have fun! :-)

Made it back today for the 2nd time and it was even better. We got bumped to lot 4 but just walked a bit. I thonged today the wife did not. A lot of speedos and sq cut, a few nude but no comments from anyone. We walked about 1/2 mile and back. Absoutly recomend this beach to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax and thong. Now back to the cold for a few months for us...

I have a few questions regarding Canaveral shores.

At certain tides, is the sand packed enough to ride a mountain bike on?

What lot is best to park in to get away from most people for nude sunbathing.Do you need a parking pass for these lots?

How much further from said parking lot do i need to go (or ride) down the beach to get away from the bigger crowds?

Can anyone suggest other east coast veaches to visit for thing and nude, whether it be kegal or not?

Canaveral NS is two beaches At Playalinda go to lot 13 for legal nude, lot 12 sorta legal nude, not legal at 11. There will be people all along from 1 up so you may not be out of sight and won't be legal there. If you want isolation and nude buy a backcountry pass at the gate and go about 1/2 north of 13 and it's all legal nude to Apollo Lot 5 several miles north. You will be alone most of the way. You don't have to get away from people there may be 20-2000 people nude there! At Apollo Lot 5 is legal nude but fills fast, Lot 4 isn't legal but between 4 and 5 has been acceptable.....south of 5 until Playalinda 12 is all legal with back country pass. The sand depends on the tide and any recent storms. I've usually found it more firm than S. Fla sand, you could ride a balloon tire bike on it, maybe even less sometimes. I haven't seen bikes on it lately- don't think they're forbidden, I may be wrong.

Sailor250 has the details about Playalinda/Apollo pretty much right on. I'd add that the sand is OK for a beach cruiser when the tide is out. But the beach isn't really deep like other central east coast beaches (New Smyrna, Daytona, etc) and the sand is a little looser than those. But I've been told bikes are allowed. ALSO, the rangers at Playalinda are being more strict about overflow below lot #13. So, get there early (or walk from 12 up to 13 before stripping off). #13 fills up fast on almost any decent beach day. We have arrived at 10am before and 13 AND 12 were at capacity on a week-day. Most popular places in the park. :-) Other beaches to visit would be Blind Creek Beach in Fort Pierce (legal public nude beach) and Haulover in north Miami (also a legal public nude beach). Have fun!

well, none that I am aware of (but I'm not the final authority for these things as I've only lived in the area for less than two years). Why not just go to the beach and have fun?

You could go all the way to the nude end and just be...naked. OR don't go all the way and you can certainly get away with a thong. Ive been at lots 10, 11, & 12 with a nice skimpy thong on and there wasn't a minute of an issue.

At Playalinda, the dynamic is that at the very beginning of the beach (lots 1-4) its most likely to be regular folk, families, kids, etc. those lots are very close together. Then there is a big space (that lots of people don't feel like walking) from #4 - #5. Then a few more lots and another big space between #8 & #9. 9, 10 & 11 are usually quiet and then all the crowds are at 11, 12, & 13 - particularly 12 & 13.

Almost EVERYONE will be nude at 13 and a fair percentage will be nude between 12 & 13. I think its similar at Apollo, just fewer parking lots over almost the same amount of beach. But New Smyrna Beach and Volusia County are already pretty relaxed and you could likely get away with thong wearing on the regular beach.

Apollo 5 is completely nude. With the sign up before lot 4, I guess that has made 5 officially all naked. I love wearing my sheer black gstring in the parking lot. Watching the heads turn is fabulous. Of course I work out more too. I figure that if I am going to wear gstrings more, I better have the body (and rear end) to wear it in. Not perfect, just attractive. No body like to look and a hairy man in a thong. Apollo has seen more and more younger couples in the last several years.

Re:Playalinda / Apollo beaches, Canaveral National Seashore in Volusia and Brevard County FL

We're staying several miles north of this park at a condo in New Smyrna beach. Bad news is that they're charging $5 just to enter through A1A on a bike or on foot, so I had to turn around and head back yesterday. Car rate is $15. I tried to enter on the beach, but the tide was too high and only soft sand, so I had to turn back. Good news is no problem wearing thongs pretty much anywhere on New Smyrna Beach. I rode by mountain bike all the way to the north end to the inlet and stopped once in middle to lay for 45 minutes in my thong without any problem. That said, I was fully clothed while riding the bike. On this one day, I made several observations: (1) No thongs or "cheeky" suits in or near the more family oriented areas with off beach parking. (2) No men, other than myself in thongs or briefs (3) Lots of females in "cheeky" styles, particularly near the surfing areas on the north end. I would say maybe 5 in actual thongs or g-strings, some within the immediate vicinity of lifeguards, which are also cops, and they weren't getting any trouble for it. (4) Generally, the area is kind of slow this time of year. It's fall break for us, but the parking lot of our condo has plenty of empty spaces and not many people at the pool either. So this is an area where anyone can wear a thong on the beach at least, but it was a fairly conservative crowd out yesterday. I would say go for it, but just put some distance between yourself and the beach side bars and restaurants as well as the kid-oriented parking ares off the beach.

some one has to first. I thonged there with my family on the fourth of July this year, people everywhere you turn - no issues. stayed near the dollar general (about 7 miles north of the Apollo entrance) and walked to and from the beach in my slim cut tropical brand thong towing the, always necessary, wagon with supplies.  spend most of time face down, buns seem slow to tan - maximize the opportunity! morning routine was to go Apollo lot 5 an take a "natural" walk either up to lot 4 or down to the backcountry sign,  then chill till wife phoned that breakfast was ready.    we purchased a week long pass, little cheaper than the annual pass

Re:Playalinda / Apollo beaches, Canaveral National Seashore in Volusia and Brevard County FL

I took a mountain bike ride from our condo to the lot 5 on the Canaveral Seashore this evening, stopped for a couple of minutes after briefly stripping down to thong and t-shirt (so as not to disturb the nudists by being fully clothed) and then put my shorts back on and headed back. The ride took about an hour each way. I rode and actually ended up walking enough on the beach to bypass the toll both and didn't cross any fences, no trespassing signs, etc. That said, I won't do that again and I don't recommend it because that beach is really horrible for biking. Every ride from here on will be north, where I can ride to the inlet and back with no problem and toll both operators on the beach don't care about bikes and pedestrians entering the beach. During my couple of minutes at lot 5, I noticed the beach was almost all nudists, and one distant couple with one nude and the other wearing clothes. I didn't see anyone wearing thongs, other than myself, on this entire seashore. Most of the nudists walk a long way from the ramp and they don't travel light either. I suppose that's a result of wanting to spend most of a day nude and outdoors, but also being able to eat, check messages, etc. Since I'm just a thong and brief wearer, I don't see a need to use that beach because I'm able to run regular beach in briefs, lay in the sun in a thong, and also paddle board in a thong, as I did this morning in Callalisa creek. I was even wearing the thong while loading and unloading the paddle board, and didn't have problems from passing traffic, yelling, guys "cruising" the park, etc.

Thinking of making a trip to this area sometime next year and want to maybe hit up playalinda beach or Apollo. Question for the folks that regulars or go often... which out of those two beaches are best for male/female couples? My wife has had some bad experiences with some creeps before and wants to be as comfortable as possible. Are both equal or is one beach better for couples? Also, I’m assuming since these are nude beaches, it will be fine to wear a thong from the car to the beach right?

We didn't have any issues with annoying men at either beach. However, to get a parking space at the furthest lots at either beach, you want to be driving thru the gates no later than 7am.  Otherwise the spaces will fill up and you are bumped to the next lot back. Nudes are still seen at lots 4 and 12. (Furthest lots are 5 a d 13).

Most people say you wear regular clothes at your car and can strip once you are on the beach.

Since we got there at like 6:05 am. There was only 1 other car in the lot when we got there. With the road being straight, you can see someone coming. So before others arrived we were naked in the lot when loading our beach cart and walking up the boardwalk to the beach to find our spot.

Also, one morning the gnats/noSee'ems were really bad at the car and as soon as we hit the beach. This is something you just have to deal with for a little while some mornings. Take bug spray.

At one of the beaches at the last lot, there is a driveway leading to a small telescope looking building. There is also a second sandy trail/boardwalk leading to the beach. Considering we were only the 3rd car out there that morning, and the closest person was more than 1,000 feet away, we decided to have some morning beach sex.

I hope to get down there working on a project soon. I'll probably just get the annual pass. The last time I was at Appolo in 2015 had a good time. Just laid out on my raft and put on lots of baby oil. The way to go is get the Backcountry pass that way u can hike as far as u want to go. No thong needed there. Just go nude for miles.

Went once at Christmas time weather was good for the beach one day the rest of the week was low 60s and windy. I think it depends on the year.

I've been there many times in Dec and it's hit or miss. The temps can be 70's but windy or rainy. I've seen it 80's too that month but it's sure worth the trip- seems like the weather changes daily so if you have 3 days certainly one will be a beach day. Though I recently had a trip to another Southern State where I was zero for 5 days!

Recently had a chance to get to Playalinda a few times. The Lot 12 now is all nude. You walk down the ramp and everyone's nude. Back toward 11 there are a few nude too. The number of people there isn't really a large number, Lot 12 never filled even on nice weekend days. Wore nothing or some wild string suits that don't cover anything. I saw a few guys in thongs and several women in thong bikinis or TNT. Near 12 I saw several families with several off spring aged 2- 15 come out and everyone went nude. Saw also several times 2 or three girls who weren't lesbians come out and go nude all day, some with tanlines may not have been nude recently. Saw again a couple, in their 50's come down, he stays in his shorts, she strips nude and carried her clothes and walk the beach. Then there were the couples where he's nude and she's bundled up like it's below zero. Bought a back country pass and sometimes there was almost nobody up there beyond the sign and sometimes several people. Saw a couple up there that had a visitor and a very leisurely cuck (that's spelled right and wrong) in the sun- good times for all. It did seem the ranger rolled through there about 3 pm to check your paperwork- so you better have the pass!

We always get the pass as we love to walk and meet others who are also completely nude. We love to get to know them when walking We have seen families too where all were nude with us.

I guess I do not understand the purpose of the back woods pass when the "backwoods" area is  Nothing more than a continuation of the beach itself . from the boardwalk and the last parking lot down to the sign is one hell of a walk to begin with! I don't see the point in walking even further, past the big sign telling you that you need to have a backwards pass to go any further. I get in all the walking I need walking from the parking lot to the sign itself. Now, if someone were to tell me that there is a lot of sexual activity in orgies going on further down past the sign in the supposed "backwoods area" .....then yeah, i will get a backwoods pass.

And why is that? To HAVE some sexual fun way further down the beach?

Well in more than one way the back country beach is a private beach! The number of people are restricted each day and the public is not supposed to be there. That's not to say it's not visible in the distance to the public.

What here is the thing, after numerous, numerous posts I still have NOT received a proper description of WHERE exactly this back woods area is! Is it back in the trees and foliage of the beaches, or is it just straight down the main beach, past the very large sign? Where precisely is the supposed "backwoods"area of Apollo and playalinda beach? It's just a continuation of the beach itself, then why the hell do they refer to it as back woods? There's no woods about it! It's just an extension of the beach. If someone wants to discuss this through E mail so that we can share picturing back-and-forth of Google Earth photos, just send me a pm to my inbox and will exchange email addresses so We can finally get a description of the suppose of backwoods area.

OK it's not "back woods" but "back country"- that's what they call it. It refers to the beach North of a sign about 1/2 mile north of parking 13 at Playalinda to about Apollo Beach Lot 5. They restrict entry to this because they don't want people wandering around and getting lost in this few miles of beach. There are no woods just dunes and some vegetation against Mosquito Lagoon. I think they used to allow camping on the beach with a permit but I don't think they do any longer. When you get the pass they have your auto license number and if the park is closing because the sun is down and your car is still there they they'll know to go looking for you. Are there dangerrrs out there? No other than sunburn and maybe drowning if you get in a rip current, maybe some people sprain something playing around?. So you pay your $5 and have some of the beach to yourself and a few others.
