  1. Listened to a young mom TrishaFenimore on IG comment  about a great influx of recognizing thongs on women at the beach or pool. She assumed many want attention, therefore wearing thongs is most accepted universal reasoning behind the attire being worn.

Nothing was spoken about males in thong assume she never observed it in public.
Appears there is some bitterness anger for women wearing thongs publicly. Often do to modesty and social acceptance in her worldly view..

What is your view why you wear thongs in public or brief bikini bottoms?
Often skin tone is main reason given do to sunlight and  tanlines. None with darker skin tone comment. about wearing minimal swimwear. Excuse of tanlines are not valid reasoning do to dark pigment of skin color does not change with sunlight or very noticeable.

Does anyone have selfish reasoning to wear thongs or minimal swimwear for beach attire?

My first reason is getting my skin mocha dark, minimize or eliminate tanlines, feeling physiologically better.

Second reason enjoying glances upon my bulge. It’s widely accepted that women are conditioned to glance at any male bulge when opportunities arise.  No matter the clothing they are wearing. Most women don’t realize it initially  but subconsciously always glancing gauging male anatomy bulge. Just as they look at male height, belly, hair eyes, forearms legs, glutes etc.. Only to make quick judgements upon and labels of individuals they observe.

So too i enjoy the fun of displaying myself in thongs so females can take the notorious glance at my bulge. Reading the reactions or discussing comments with other friendly observant women noticing  reaction unbeknownst to me.

Having friendly single gal i know share the pool. She secretly wanting her sexy nympho  female friend to notice me. She kept trying to gain attention from her sexy friend waving pointing me out.  Sexy girlfriend walking outside the pool passing wall windows.  Soon as gal got her friends attention i was  walking on the pool deck, along side the sexy gal on the other side of glass bay wall window.
Days later i overheard conversation between the two female gal opinions how i appeared at the pool. More specific the gals focus was upon my bulge. Friendly female asking her sexy friend so what you think of it.  Sexy gal replied, certainly he reveals much more at the pool than he does in clothes ( gym attire leggings).  Puzzled nympho sexy  friend  asking her friend, “why does he wear white brief swimwear”..

Always fun to chat with women that admire my thong swimwear or lean physique. Only to divulge what other women discussed or clearly focused upon from certain women reactions, watching me  walking along the pool deck or climbing out of the water.
Female admirers comment to me,  find it a thrill  more than i feel, observing strangers react to my bulge in a thong.

The  intrigue of purposeful voyuerism from females only because what i’m rumored wearing and revealing.   Smiles or frightened pretentious avoidance to ogle  is do to the bulge being revealed in minimal swimwear. Often modest women are frightened to be caught glancing yet aware what is being shown. The  nervous energy attitude among women to overt their eyes careful not to glance upon the bulge only not to cast wrong idea of sexual desires.

Suppose exhibitionism is fun part about myself  wearing a thong. Even though many women act as they don’t care. Only to leave with smirk on their face, smile or riddled with nervous shocked anxiety.

Honest answer - I don't know......The overall tan ?....I do know that the incentive to stay in shape year round is one reason...I do think when I first started thonging, probably a bit of exhibitionism.....Since thongs and g-strings are more acceptable now, it is more about the overall tan. I just like wearing them....If I were overweight or out of shape, no way would I thong. I am very conscious of my body. Not perfect, but I feel comfortable wearing a thong or g-string in public. I'm 67 and have been thonging since early 90's....Harder to stay in shape every year, so thonging days may be nearing an end. Just not today (hopefully not for another 5-6 years).

I first wore them after I saw someone else wearing them and it seemed so modern. I have and use board shorts, and swim briefs; but I like to tan in a thong. I prefer that tan; a complete tan is more complicated driving further so it’s a compromise. I don’t exhibit myself as such as I like the IDEA of exhibition. That is, not purposely making a scene but as people casually happen to notice me. Psychologically it mellows me out, resets me. Maybe someone with more experience in psychology could explain this further. Then there is a sexy/self confidence that too is hard to explain but enjoy. Both the personal one and the one I’m projecting. Lastly, being a bit vain, I prefer to look like this type of attire fits my physique and it’s a motivator to stay in shape. My wife, and my doctor approve. Oh, I too hope I’m an inspiration to others.

As a hormonal filled teenager, I noticed thongs and strings hanging on a rack behind the cash register at a Fredricks of Hollywood in the Tucson mall. They oddly caught my attention. I walked in and bought a few pairs. I remember how thrilling it was to wear a pair to high school under my clothes. I strictly wore them as underwear at first and then I started wearing them as swimwear when I lived in Hawaii over 20 years ago. They had a shop called "easy over down under" right on Waikiki. But I've really worn thongs exclusively as swimwear for 10 years now.

Pure and simple. I wear them when I can't go nude.

For me these are the main reasons to wear thongs to the beach: Get nice minimal tanlines. Feeling confident when wearing thongs. Feeling sexy (and sometimes a little horny) See how people react to male thong wearers.

I have the easiest answer. I like thong swimwear. The benefits are: Thongs are fun, sexy, minimal and comfortable. The tan line is great. The women in my life enjoy seeing me wearing a thong.

Mack Back, you're a delusional, sick person. You need help. JM Runs, can you please ban Mack Back, finally? None of us want him here. We all hate him. He adds nothing to the forum except post-after-post of self-centered, narcissistic, misogynist bullcrap.

Self-Validation: Recognizing and accepting your own emotional state without judgment.

Empowerment wearing such daring, bold thongs or bikini, even if someone protests.

Better emotion regulation: It prevents the spiral of feeling guilty or angry for feeling a certain way.

Whenever witness others wear thongs having fun at location. Only to decide  before arriving to wear more, so not to be hassled or fear  of any reprimand.

Stronger identity: It acts as glue for fragmented parts of yourself, allowing you to accept your flaws and imperfections.

Watching reading into peoples body language, subtle reactions, commentary, opinions, discussions to an idea that i must not be that ugly.

For me, as others have said, I just prefer nude (and have preferredso since pretty young). For me, it's the feel of the wind on my butt (along with the rest of my body); it's the feel of the sun on my butt. I've heard it can be an ADHD thing, not liking the restraints or the feeling of any clothing rubbing on my body. That can apply to shoes, too. But is is also just the feeling of being more a part of nature.

Another impetus is heat. I find that the hotter it is, the less I give a damn about what others think.

On Tuesday, I did a 20 mile bike ride. I did about 14 wearing just a thong. (The others were in the urban area where the bike path started and I was not comfortable enough to go thonged there.) That said, once I got more rural I quit caring. Encountered about 10 people total, but just pedaled on. I did have a 12? year old boy on an e-bike do a "whoa!" as he passed by. I even made a few road
crossings where there was car traffic and I had to wait to cross. The world did not collapse (despite my concerns).

Regarding Mack_Back, of course his major excuse is peacocking. That just seems silly to me. And yes, his "contributions" are tedious and peculiar--they can be skipped. That said, he was the one that started this thread, which has turned out to be fairly interesting.

I started wearing briefs in 1995 as a form of protest, giving a middle finger of sorts to the vocal naysayers who believed men should wear long shorts and not wear these "horrible" things. Looking logically at the situation, I could not fathom why briefs were being disparaged as they seemed quite sensible to me. Even though I had never even considered wearing a brief, I bought two of them, one full coverage and one that was quite cheeky, and made three trips to the beach that year. After wearing both suits the first trip, I realized I got a bit of thrill wearing the cheeky one so it is the only suit I wore for the other two trips. My love of the cheeky suit made me wonder what it would be like to show all of my butt and really give it to those I was protesting against. Back then, it was not easy to find thongs for guys, but I managed to find some and started looking forward to wearing them on the three trips I was planning the next summer. I was quite nervous the first time or two, but I soon became quite comfortable wearing them and really enjoying doing so for the warm and fuzzy feeling it gave me. My rebel personality trait, and the feeling of the sun on my bare buns triggered a thong addiction and I have never covered my buns at the beach since then!

For me, it began was I was on my HS swim team. Back then guys wore speedo style suits in competition. Since the school didn't issue uniforms to the swim team, we were left to our own devices. Most of the squad wore normal speedos, but four of us were constantly trying to get an edge by finding briefer and briefer suits and attempting to get away with wearing them in competition. Have to admit that we enjoyed the attention that we got from the female spectators as well. That gave me the mindset of "briefer is better" and "let's see what I can get away with". Shortly after I discovered thongs, I developed some significant tan lines and loved them. Then, when I went to a nude beach, those lines became painful burns. That taught me to prefer having no tan lines at all.
Today, I enjoy wearing the briefest suit that I can on a particular beach. I also enjoy the feeling of sunning my buns.

For me, it’s about comfort . As an awkward teen , I hated the feel of wet shorts on my upper thigh and the material bunching up in the crease at the top of my leg . At the end of high school I had switched to bikini cut underwear , that I found more comfortable . When I got out on my own in college , I bought a bikini style swim suit ( Speedo ) . I would go to the beach by myself wearing it . The more I wore it , the more I hated regular shorts ( this was all in the early 80’s before board shorts took over ) . After I met my wife , I encouraged her to wear thong underwear and small bikini bottoms . On our honeymoon , we got her a little pink G string that she fell in love with and wore frequently . After getting married , we explored Naturism and started to frequent naturist clubs and participate in social nudism . The more we were out in the sun naked , the more we wanted to naked . My wife embraced toplessness , and had the attitude that if my chest is bare , why should my bottom be covered . During this time my go to swimwear was a bikini . We had friends push back and were quite vocal about not liking our minimal coverage , so we tempered what we wore when they were around . They all knew that if they dropped in to our house or cabin unannounced , they would find us as close to naked as we could be . Also , through this time my underwear evolved to thongs . In 2004 we went to St Martin . We experienced Orient Beach for the first time . I saw many men in thongs on the re tike side of the beach . At our resort on the Dutch side , both my wife and I wore very cheeky bikinis . When we got home , I bought thong swimwear and have never looked back . So to summarize a long story, the less we wear, the more we want to wear less . I am writing this while out at the cabin . We have had 2 glorious days in and out of the water wearing only thongs . Friday we had someone pull up to the dock on their seadoo to chat . There was no comments But I could tell he enjoyed the view of my wife in waist deep water , topless . Saturday was more of the same .

I like wearing a g-string when swimming and sunning. It feels liberating to be as close to naked as possible without being illegal. Genitals and anus are not exposed, so no indecent exposure law is being broken.

It feels good is my reason. Out of all the things we talked about, feeling good is my reason. Here are others: - I like the thong tan line - Like feeling sun all over my skin - I don't show off, but a man wearing a thong at the beach will be noticed. I don't hide it. - Confidence, I lost a lot of weight and gained the courage to go for it. I still carry a little weight in the gut but I don't let that stop me. I don't care if you are heavy, all body shapes should be accepted in a thong. - Women wear them all the time, guys can too - I feel free - I'm living a dream - The best walks are at the beach - The best swimming in a thong - Love how a thong feels

So I read this entire thread, and for starters, let's just be nice to each other. I like the feeling of freedom when wearing smaller swimming attire! Some people love it. The others that do not usually consider smaller swimming attire socially unacceptable, and many times, they are just jealous. In the water, I go from being a decent swimmer in shorts to being an excellent swimmer in a little bikini. I guess there are a lot of reasons. Peace!

I for one do not believe "exhibitionism" is so horrible on a public beach provided it doesn't cross a line into being a display of sexual perversion.   I can't begin to tell how exciting it feels to wear a very provocative tiny suit such as one of the late Dore Gabriel's missile or horizon in front of others and so much more gratifying when it elicits positive comments from members of both sexes but especially from women. Yes, that excitement does sometimes lead to my becoming erect but not very often and when I am hard, I don't go out of my way to show off my boner. Now, the kind of exhibition which I object to are men wearing Koala style suits on a public which are plainly to get people (many other gay men) to oogle the penis of the wearer with what to me appears to be a torture device for one's genitals. I am sorry but those suits are grotesque imo and not acceptable for public beaches.

@I_miss_dore: You've pretty much summed up how I feel about exhibitionism. I've posted quite a few beach pictures to my album, and you can see that while I wear very small and/or slightly sheer suits, I try not to be too "in your face" with them. I'm also fortunate (or perhaps unfortunate) that being pretty ancient, I don't easily get a full boner in front of others, but a semi, if not too obvious, is very satisfying!

I wear thongs for the comfort and pleasure of being nearly nude at the beach since there are not enough CO beaches. But I definitely enjoy the exhibitionism although I seek beaches where thongs are common and there are likely to be others.

So I think most here can agree that a certain degree of exhibitionism in public is acceptable provided the exhibitionist recognizes that good taste is warranted to the venue. I would not think to exhibit myself on a very tame family beach or one where many seniors are present because that would be in totally inappropriate but at Haulover Beach I say show it off to one's hearts content and love the thrill of it all...we only get to live once so why on earth not feel that excitement?

When I was younger I saw a man wearing a very small bikini. He looked amazing. It made a lasting impression. At the time few stores with swimwear had anything small for men, but I got some items like bikinis. From a magazine ad I found Parr of Arizona selling men's swimsuits smaller than speedos. I got their slide sash bikini with adjustable front and back on a narrow waist band to go from bikini to thong. It was my first thong. I loved the fit and look of it. When internet shopping became a thing I found the Skinzwear site with g-strings, so I got my first micro suits including my first teardrop style. Most of them are still wearable after many years. Since then even more web sites have men's micro swimwear. It took a while to build confidence wearing tiny swimsuits. Rare negative reactions. Enough positive comments to keep me going. It's like freedom with the feeling of sun, wind, and water all over. Having confidence projects an appearance making you more accepted. Then I got used to being more active, out in front of others, knowing people were watching. Yes, showing off, but not being pushy and not in places where most people would take offense. At least for women there's now more acceptance of smaller swimwear on more body types. Our popular culture isn't going to view men's bodies in the same way. Men in micro swimwear will always be few. Still, no reason not to do it. Just go for it.

“I found Parr of Arizona selling men's swimsuits smaller than speedos” To this day I wear Parr Tie Side Nada bikinis. Classic inverted triangle bikinis in size small. Even though I’m a large the tie sides allow for any waist (hip) size while the stated size “small” ensures that I have minimal coverage front and back. In these days of thongs and g-strings the Tie Side Nada Bikini is perfect when more coverage is appropriate or for walking from the parking lot to the beach. Parr unfortunately went out of business about 10 years ago.
