Now is the time to make plans to attend! You don't want to miss out on all the fun that you can experience with your fellow thongers! It's your opportunity to celebrate fun, freedom, sunshine, the ocean and community, with a whole lot of new friends. It's your opportunity to wear the least possible in a non-judgemental atmosphere. The good and the bad news.........We have already SOLD OUT all rooms at the host hotel. However, the host hotel is part of a 4 hotel complex, all within a 2 to 5 minute walk from one to another. All future reservations can be made at the North Beach Hotel, the Royal Palms, or the Winterset Hotel. When booking a room, use the code "SunSplash 2026" under the "Book Now" tab. This code will enable you to receive a 10% discount. We have our very own adults-only resort to stay at this year, which includes 2 sparkling pools, hot tub, a cash bar, beach and pool activities.......... and so much more! My aim was to go get people out openly on the beach, not cowering behind protective walls. This helps people discover Fort Lauderdale is thong friendly.
Saturday Beach Brunch is a good way to meet, especially if people are staying in different hotels or just driving in for the day.
This is the second year I will be away. Sunsplash weekend I will be at a wedding on the other side of the Atlantic. So you'll have to appoint someone new to organize and host the Saturday beach Brunch.
You can borrow tables from my house. I will have a friend set them out for you. Also a beach cart.
I used Bonnet House beach because the lack of hotels or parking behind the beach ment there was lots of space to put up tents and spread out. A section not over crowded with hotel chairs and umbrellas. Where even the shy would feel comfortable. The new parking lot on the Vista Mar street made dropping off and pickup easy.
At the end of July the beach gets HOT and shade is in short supply. My old tents are complicated to setup. I strongly suggest you borrow or rent a couple of popup tents. You could use them on the beach and then maybe later back at the hotel if, as often happens on hot summer afternoons, you get a rain shower.
I would like to see the tradition of Beach Brunch continue even if I am not there to manage or serve food. So talk among yourselves: Pick a ring leader and sidekick.
If you want my shopping and food prep check lists let me know. Alternatively you can just get from Publix or from one of your hotels. Just remember that Fort Lauderdale beach is alcohol free, so if you have an adult beverage keep it discrete. |

I just booked at Royal Palms. Expedia had no way of entering in the 10% discount so I called the hotel chain directly. There was no discount applied and they gave me the same offer Expedia had. :( |

However I would like to suggest someone organize a pontoon boat rental for Friday lunchtime / afternoon. Maybe 11am to 3 or 4pm.
That way people can get back for the welcoming stuff Friday evening.
You can get:
1) a drive yourself rental,
2) with a captain that takes 6 passengers
3) a larger one that can take more.
The larger ones can take up to 30 or so.
Why Friday and not Sunday? Friday and Saturday tend to be the party days at the Sandbar.
Sundays mostly families with children and hungover locals.
Knowing you have daytime activities planned for Saturday, like the Saturday Beach Brunch,
it makes sense to do the Sandbar on Friday.
Yes, thongs are fine. I always wear a thong when down at the Sandbar.
Last Friday a boat load of women were cheering and flashing their tits at me while the men were cheering. As I said, it is a bit of a party scene.
Your mileage may vary, depending on your willingness to go over and engage with people from other boats. |

A boat rental/ride, paddle boarding, etc on Friday would be great however the SunSplash hosts are not organizing anything officially before the Friday afternoon Welcome Party.
For Saturday, we do not plan to host a Beach Brunch where we provide the food and bevs. We encourage everyone to plan their own snacks/lunch that day and join us on the beach at the location of previous Saturday beach brunches. We will miss you this year and I hope your summer in Spain is amazing. |

Two good places for feeling comfortable wearing a thong in publicare the beach and the sandbar. In past years I have paddle boarded down to the sandbar with early arrivals and we had a good time.
Paddleboarding from my house takes about 30 minutes, but more like 50 from the rental locations by Sunrise Blvd. So if you can't find friends to boat with, or don't like the cost, just rent a paddle board. |

They are a very well made brand by a company called "TM". They have a huge variety of styles and cuts with very thin made material that is extremely stretchy.
