Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/25/2023 08:48:05Copy HTML Hey Leif Erikson, if I lived in JM_Runs I'd love to paddle with him and neither of us gives a fig about what you or the morality police care. It's legal, and fun. You're on a very slippery slope using the term "fetish". |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/28/2023 08:05:20Copy HTML Get it straight, pikeman. Leif ericson was supportive of JM-Runs. It was Chris_P_Bacon that had an issue with JM's shoulder-strap style thong featured in a five second video in post #145. Without seeing the front, I think it's really difficult to determine what it overall looks like. I trust JM to know what's acceptable in his area.

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:11/24/2023 02:16:36Copy HTML We are visiting friends in Tampa this week and went out on Thanksgiving Day morning for a bit on the bay and canals. There’s three couples and the guys went out for a couple hours on the water. The other guys were in kayaks and me on my SUP. Nice day in the low 70s, calm, and mostly sunny. One buddy ask me if I was going to be mostly naked on our voyage and my response was “mostly naked”. I had my short shorts on while we were on his dock and in his canal during launch and as we exited the can my shorts were off. They had both been with me before in my thongs but not out in the wild like that. We went on the bay some but spent most of the time in the canals looking at the houses and winding around the area. Nice day with some people outside or patio doors wide open. Had a few good comments about my thong, girls clapping and cheering, and some Happy Thanksgiving greetings. Did about 4 miles in a couple hours just cruising around.
Added a picture to my 2023 album with the other guys in the background. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/08/2024 11:06:02Copy HTML I finally got out to the lake for the first time SUP yesterday. So far this year has been very full of travel, equipment issues (blown hose on the pump) working on the house, or poor weather in the first few months. I try to get out at least once a month but not this year. I have my tan going though as I get my sun on the back deck. Got out yesterday for a couple hours and did > 4 miles. Nice and sunny and no wind. I worked up a good sweat so I jumped in to cool off a few times and the water is nice. When I came back in, an older couple had their chairs set up at my take-out point about 8 feet from the water. I didn't see them until the last moment as there is a low tree there. Still had only my thong on and I did my normal, run aground, unhook while sitting on the board, then put on my short shorts and my flip flops and as I stand in the water, then I pull up my shorts. I am sure they got a view of more that the sunset last night. It feels good to be back out on the water! BTW - Thong for the day was a multi colored one that I got several years ago from Jovana Designs. |

What lake were you at? I got a SUP end of last July and still learning to balance standing up. I wore g-strings at Lake Lanier when using the SUP. Love being almost totally nude but still legal. Might try to go out next week if the water is warm enough up here. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/10/2024 12:05:51Copy HTML I’m in NC so the weather is usually pretty nice and wind not typically a factor around here. Lakes are very swimmable temperature wise. I missed the earlier spring time when the trees started to green up. That’s a great view from the lake and even better when wearing a thong. My normal is to get out after work during the week one night and then early on Saturday morning so that I’m not in the fray of a high boat traffic time where the wakes are constant. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:10/21/2024 04:37:09Copy HTML Had a nice season of SUP on Lake Travis and Lake Austin. Travis isn’t a lake anymore with the drought and is now in its original riverbed. Since there are no ramps and the marinas are almost grounded, the number of powerboats is almost none. That’s really calm, and enjoyable. It’s also safer to paddle nude!
No nudity on Lake Austin though, but fun picking a thong. Usually one darker than my body so it’s obvious I am not nude. Early mornings on Monday/Tuesday and the water is mine. I frequently have brief conversations with homeowners drinking their morning coffee on piers and nobody ever cares about my state of undress. They seem interested in the SUP, maybe the grey hair makes them think they ought to SUP too. I never ever have spotted another SUP, much less one in a thong. Folks don’t know what they’re missing! |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:10/22/2024 10:02:14Copy HTML Pikeman, Thanks for your report. I know that woman are permitted to be topfree throughout Travis County. How often do you encounter topfree women during your activities? I have been told several times, for example, that women often paddle board topfree on Lady Bird Lake. However, I haven't seen any during my visits. As a result, I've been unsuccessful in convincing my partner (f) to paddle board topfree! Any data points from you, regarding whatever body of water, would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:10/27/2024 01:46:54Copy HTML Paddleboarding has just been a great way to enjoy the water, swim, and sunbathe on the board, or, get to sandy spots and sunbathe. I love it! Jet skiers and boaters take a double look when they think I'm nude due to the small thong. The other day a pontoon boat came around again to see my buns, I waved to them, and everyone on the boat waved back. I noticed it's a boat full of women/girls, and I chuckled because it looked like everyone was paying attention and responded to my gesture! I may try one of those electric hydrofoils next, which looks like a lot of fun! |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:11/08/2024 12:33:04Copy HTML Due to travel and work projects here at the house and other events it’s been a few months since I’ve been out on the lake to sup. My wife told me that it was supposed to hit around 80° and be sunny on friday afternoon so I’m clearing my calendar to take advantage of that and catch some sun on my bunz and do six or 7 miles.
It’s fall here and the leaves should be very colorful. I wonder which thong I’m going to wear? |

I looked at the pictures above and then sequenced through the whole series of your flickr pictures. Wow, you da man! It appears you have a bevy of beautiful female followers! You would think the guys would get a clue, ditch the board shorts, and try at least a bikini swimsuit and maybe even [gasp] a thong. Serious question though: when you been paddleboarding through the canals have you ever had anyone call the cops reporting a naked man is paddleboarding in the canal? |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:03/16/2025 09:26:51Copy HTML Paddle boarding Mallorca. This morning I got a call from 'A' who said the sun is out, the day is warm and that she will be coming in 20 minutes. We spent the day thong paddle boarding. As usual we both wore thongs. She was topless for most of the time.
Mid March the nights are cold but some days can be warm, if the sun is out and there is not too much wind. This morning there was sun and no wind. Perfect for a morning paddle board.
Sometimes we just paddle round the boats moored off our beach. Today she wanted to go to the cliffs at Punta Negra. Between our beach and the cliffs there are a few little beaches that are often frequented by nudists, and like most nude beaches predominantly men.
By the time we got half way a fresh breeze sprung up. So when we got into the lee of the cliffs we just hung out in the calm clear waters. She put her top on for a while so we could take pictures and video. (Facebook has a problem with nipples.)
Later, when the clouds started to roll in, we headed back downwind to our beach for a late lunch. We are very public and constant thongers. She is very comfortable going topless, which she does on our public beach and when paddle boarding. Even when passing close to the shore where the aquarium and athletic club have outdoor restaurants, and we are the view. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:04/06/2025 04:29:47Copy HTML Here in the Southeast US this weekend it has been record highs in mid 80s. This is one of my favorite times of spring when you can get out on the water for a little while during the midday and see all of the fresh new leaves of different colors on the trees. Of course I had to sport my colorful thong while I was doing my outing yesterday. Only got to about 4 1/2 miles due to the higher winds but enjoyed it immensely nonetheless. Added a new 2025 album to my image gallery. This was one of the Tropical Thongs (ED pouch that another post mentioned yesterday between reviewing one of their thongs) brand that I bought last year and has a shiny/glimmer finish to the fabric. They wear well and are very comfortable.
There were a good number of boaters, jet, skis, and other kayak and paddle boarders taking advantage of the day. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:06/23/2025 07:20:55Copy HTML Saturday was one of those wonderful SUP days! I was on the lake by 8 o’clock and the morning sun was nice and bright with mostly clear blue skies! It was approaching 75° at that point and I was taking my normal route and the sun was warming me up on my backside as I was paddling West. It was nice and calm and quiet out so it was just relaxing, but having that great feeling of the warming sun on your bunz, made it even more spectacular. I was out early, so mostly it was fisherman in boats at that point and a few other kayaks and such but for the most part, I was out there with very little traffic at that point. The water was nice and crisp to cool off and I did that several times as well as stopping to take in the nature of the Osprey and other birds having a good time. I ended up doing about 7 1/2 miles and stopped a couple times to take a few pictures as the sun light was advantageous for getting a few good shots. I’ve loaded a few up to my 2025 album.
As time goes on and it gets closer to 11 o’clock, the lake activity really increases and pontoons and ski boats are out and about so by that time for me, it’s time to wrap things up due to the constant wakes being created. As I get closer to the kayak launch point, it’s a large cove where there’s no wake so a lot of the beginners that just stay around that area so there is lots of people around at that point. My normal routine is to paddle to the lunch area, put my flip-flops on and take my board out of the water. I then stop and put on my short shorts and walked back uphill to my car. Most of the time there’s at least someone there putting in or out or taking out.
This is my seventh year paddle boarding and I almost exclusively wear thongs or strings when I do. This year have logged over 35 miles and I typically log over 100 each year. I hit the ocean, Bays, intercoastal, lakes. I pass people on shore, highways, boats, and houses and have never had any truly negative comments or interactions. Very rarely do people actually engage even though I will wave and say hello if they’re within reasonable distance. I usually get waves back and I will get some positive hoots from boats as they pass, and when I am very close to people and strike up a conversation, I’ve only had a couple people who have made comments about what I was wearing. They were definitely positive.
What I’d like to challenge others is that if you are athletic and are in an area where thongs are legal, look for some opportunities to try SUP. When I started, my intent was to learn and instead of going to the very small beaches at the State Park, I would get out on the lake, just like all the other boats and take advantage of the situation and get sun on my bunz. AS I QUICKLY LEARNED, THE SHORTS CAME OFF! I HAVEN’T LOOKED BACK SINCE. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:06/24/2025 03:36:10Copy HTML Great post. Paddeboarding in a thong is a great way to get sun and exercise at the same time. Counts as a gym day for me. The Mpls chain of lakes is super popular for paddleboarding and see other thongers most times I am out.

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/27/2025 12:25:44Copy HTML Friday I did a test paddle up to what was the Craft Beer Bar. It's closing ment we lost a good destination for my group paddles. The location reopened two weeks ago as a chain coffee joint called 'The Seed'. Checked out the new outside seating and met the manager. Made sure they were ready for me bringing a group by paddle board. Also to check the time the tide turns at that point in Middle River compared to the predicted time, so we get the timing right. 3 miles up, stop for lunch and 3 miles back. After testing the route and timing I did a few more miles for a loop down to the sandbar. Wore a tiny red g-string with sparkly blue elastic sides and trident style back. Got complements along the way and lots of friendly waves. Met a bachelorette group at the sandbar, and then some locals. A few complements on my thong and couple of requests for photos. Later I heard a tripper-boat mentioning me as they went by, saying "He is a local attraction, paddling out here every day." I only paddle a couple of days a week, so that is an interesting myth. There is something about boating and paddle boarding that allows one to wear a lot less and get a lot more positive feedback than just about anywhere else, including the beach. |

Looks like your Friday paddle was fun !
Thanks for removing some of us locals and member/members of this forum from your group paddles ...it's very appreciated ha ha !
Exactly what I thought it happened , I was just waiting for your next "group paddling post" to write this message ,so it was you recently closing your FB and your messenger so nobody can contact you anymore and you choosing only the paddlers "you like" for your group paddles (your plan worked really well )
I understand and is ok I guess ,I had a lot of fun the 6-7 times I took part on those group paddles in the last couple of years .
Thank You for those invites !
Too bad those group paddles are no longer an option for some of us...I even wouldn't mind paying a reasonable fee per paddle
Good Luck and Thanks again ! |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/27/2025 08:46:18Copy HTML RioTanga, Friday was a solo paddle, not a group paddle.
I have been having trouble with the Facebook event invite system. Sometimes it allows for up to 500 invites, and for one or another reason it sometimes cuts my allowed invite list down to only 50. Duplicating events and the invites seems to have gone squiffy. I can export a list but cannot import one.
So for the last couple of months I have been trying to both rebuild my facebook invite list and strip out some of the friends who get invites but don't respond.
So send me a message on FaceBook messenger and let me see if I can get you paddling some time. |

Apologize for that ,didn't pay attention when reading the post.I know sometimes you paddle solo however most of the time you post here about paddling is group paddilng .I guess you can rebuild your list with the people that SHOW UP .I'm sure many people simply never show up so means they are not serious about paddling. Seems that you just added me on FB messenger (up until this morning I just couldn't find you) I will definitely message you so you can let me know whenever you have a group paddle .
Thank you |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:10/04/2025 04:13:37Copy HTML Lately it has been difficult to organize weekend group paddles. On days when the tide is right the weather forecast is been dismal. I try to make group paddles go with the tide in both directions, which means high or low tide during the mid point.
For astrological reasons, this month, for weekends this has often been mid early to mid afternoon, but in October that's also when we get the South Florida afternoon thunderstorms.
This Saturday the tide is right, and forcast not that terrible, but I am volunteering elsewhere in the afternoon. On Sunday forecast is for "a thick cloud cover and humid, with showers and a heavy thunderstorms, watch for flash flooding."
Group paddles are difficult to plan far enough in advance - to give people enough notice, yet be close enough to the day to have a good idea of the forecasted weather. So for now I think I will be mostly doing solo paddles, when the sun is out.
I am not so worried or phased by rain as beginners are, and on a fast skinny paddle board not so worried going against the tide.
While I do enjoy having friends along, and enjoy the social company when we take a break, solo paddling is less stressful because I am not acting as group shepard. I can go at my own speed without having to wait around. Nor do I feel like I am being anti-social to my group if I wonder off to pass the time of day with flock of bachelorette women. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:10/13/2025 01:03:54Copy HTML Some friends came over so we paddled around noon, up Middle River. One young women came late, was not sure if she wanted to paddleboard or kayak and chose to kayak. I had told the others to go on ahead. As we were on the way to catch them up her kayak paddle broke. So I ended up towing her with my paddle board. Slow going, about 3 miles there. Higher than usual spring tides. When we got there the dock was underwater so we just paddled in and parked on top. Either the seas are rising or Florida is sinking, for now on the high tides overtop peoples seawalls. They are well underwater, mine too. It never happened when first lived here. A regular occurrence now. Had coffee and scon for lunch at the new overpriced coffee shop. Then towed her 3 miles back home. Well tired now. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:11/17/2025 12:35:01Copy HTML Thong paddleboarding. Saturday did a lunch time paddle to the sandbar with some friends. Perfect weather, a good time.
Sunday paddled alone. Was out for about 3 or 4 hours and did about 8 miles. Paddled down the busy section of the ICW and past the marinas. Got my usual hoot from the Jungle Queen. Visited locals at the sandbar who give me BBQ sausages. Got lots of waves and complements. Mostly compliments from women but a few from men, like one who yelled "Nice Bum".
This time of year we often get perfect paddling weather. Around 78° - sunny and warm but not too blindingly hot and humid. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:12/02/2025 11:17:24Copy HTML While looking for something else I came across this post:
_________________________________________________________
I went kayaking after work and we saw a man stand up paddle boarding in the middle of the lake. I thought he was naked at first. He looked VERY naked from my position, which was behind him as he paddled away…He wasn’t actually naked though, he was wearing what must have been a string thong. A tiny tiny barely visible from afar thong.
No shirt either, though that honestly might have been more of a sight, all things considered.
To be honest, I never actually saw the thong, the man looked fully naked to me.
My friend did, she said she saw the thong, but I have bad eyes. All I saw was BUTT, on a man STANDING in the middle of the lake.
Shining in all his leathery glory, in golden hour sun. It was fantastic. Legend. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:12/08/2025 03:34:07Copy HTML These days I almost never get to the beach, even though it is just a mile, less than 5 minutes on the bicycle. I am thonging around the house, on the street and paddleboarding on the waterways several days a week.
On weekends I often have friends who drop in to paddle with me. Two Sunday's ago I assumed nobody was coming because the day started with wind and rain, and got worse. But too of the brave soles came over. After coffee we setof and had a blast, even though it was very windy and intermittently poring.
Then during the week the weather was wonderful. Sunny and dry but not as blazing hot as mid summer. I was out on the water several days, including Friday when I did a long paddle, that included going up the river though the center of town. The reactions of people walking on the riverwalk or dining at the riverside restaurants is generally supportive and encouraging.
On alternate weekends I often help with a food giveaway, so on Saturday needing to be back by 2pm. Not wanting to hassle with getting friends out early and then rounding them up to be back in time I went out alone, for an early for a long paddle up to Wilton. Explored a small nature reserve and then stopped by the waterfront coffee shop.
At the coffee shop I put on a mesh singlet style shirt. Was warmly greeted by the manager and made new friends, a young women and her dog. Who friended me on FB to come paddling on another day.
Sunday morning I moved a small palm tree from the back yard to street side, then in the afternoon, when friends came over we paddled again. One of the other guys was brave enough to thong and another tried out a skinny tippy racing board. She did very well. Did not fall at all.
We went the long way around to the sandbar, where we had a beer and met others who were sandbar partying. Spent some time tossing a ball for a couple of dogs. Came home tired, just as the light was fading.
Let me again extol the virtues of thong paddleboarding:
(a) On the water you get away with wearing a lot less than in other situations.
(b) Standing up so get sun from all directions and from reflection from the water.
(c) You are DOING SOMETHING obvious, (So never seen as furtive lurking).
(d) It gives people an opening to talk to you. "So where did you paddle from?"
(e) Just like watching the passing boats, people don't feel embarrassed about watching passing paddle boarders.
I suspect most negative reactions to male thongers are not about what you are wearing but about their own internal embarrassment and/or uncertainty on how they should handle the situation.
The water provides separation and emotional moat: Eliminating a possibility of direct confrontation, so the fight or flight reflex is not triggered, so no negative reactions, even though I am almost naked in the heart of the city.
This is like going to the zoo. If there were no fence or glass between you and the tiger your fight or flight would be instantly kicked in. With the barrier in place you feel relaxed, pose and take selfies.
A water filled moat round a medieval castle kept young men from trying their hand at climbing the walls. I suspect the lack of negative reactions to thong paddleboarding, even if I am wearing a tiny g-string is the water creating a physical and emotional moat. The glass wall in the zoo that puts people at ease. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:12/08/2025 07:11:36Copy HTML I absolutely love the moat analogy. Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:12/17/2025 02:37:22Copy HTML Saturday morning, paddleboarding with G. I wore my Intimo velveteen Christmas Elf thong and elf cap. If you did not get one when they were in stock you missed out. https://www.kmart.com/intimo-mens-christmas-elf-hat-and-thong-underwear/p-A106652052 We paddled from my house, out the local canals and to the ICW. Then past the new billionaire's mega-yacht marina (Built on public land), then past the billionaires boats lining the older Baha-Mar marina. Paddled past the water taxi terminal, the Jungle Queen dock and took a look at the Shorly, a converted ferry now moored at the marine village and converted into an upscale trendy waterfront bar. The elf thong and cap garnering quite a few Christmas greetings. Took a detour past some fancy houses. Got cheers and whistles from a pontoon boat of young women. Which encouraged G to take of his shorts and thong too. We hung out at the sand bar for a bit, met some other paddle boarders. Another friend finished riding horses and paddled out to meet us. Dropped a location pin so we could meet up on the New River. She was on her fancy lightweight 12.5 Indigo racing paddle board. G and I were on 14 foot boards. G on my old blue and yellow Bark race board and I was riding an older and wider 14 foot King. We are all reasonably good paddlers. Not held back by beginners we were reasonably swift. Paddled Las Olas canals and up Middle River to Wilton. About four miles. Stopped for lunch and coffee at the very trendy and rather overpriced waterfront coffee shop. Many young women in spandex. They have outside waterfront seating but you have to go inside to order. J did not have shirt or shorts so she did not want to go inside. I donned a light weight blue mesh shirt (which hides very little) to go in and order. No shorts. As usual a friendly crew and manager. We ate lunch at the outside waterfront tables and played with a friendly dog while their owners were playing cornhole. Three miles back to my house to drop G off so he could rush off to a wedding reception. J and I paddled a mile and a half back to the boat ramps at George English where J had parked. The friendly guy at the kayak and paddle board rental place let us use their hose to wash down her board and kit. In the gathering dusk paddled home. A full day of thong paddling back and forth throughout the city. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:02/16/2026 05:31:59Copy HTML When weekend weather is good friends come paddleboarding. A few weeks ago i re-damaged my ankle. The doctor has me in a boot for the next few weeks before he will reassess. Unable to safely climb up and down the ladder with paddle boards I asked a friend to do the heavy lifting and co-host. He and his girlfriend met some time ago on one of my group paddles. We often go out together, even if the weather is not perfect.
I normally ask the first women to arrive to pick me out a thong for the day. There is a wall of thongs on the way to the bathroom. She selected three sparkly one for me to choose from. All were a little see-though if held up to the light. I ended up wearing the black one that has mirror dots all over which reflect so much light one can't see through.
In the end we had six women and four men, with two of the men wearing thongs. The other guy started out with covering shorts and the women cheered when he finally ditched them. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:03/23/2026 02:15:50Copy HTML Saturday, lunchtime paddle to sandbar. Summer time temp. Blue sparkle g-string with inverted golden sergeant chevron patch added to rear, for a flash of color.
Hung out with a bunch of partying bachelorettes before cutting the afternoon short so I could go help with charity food distribution.
Sunday 6 mile paddle, 3 mile up Middle River to coffee shop and back. Jen and Joan for company. The good weather brought out quite a number of boats, paddleboard and kayakers. Passed by many backyards with people enjoying the sunny cloudless day.
Wore a red thong with open double string sides. Embroidered gold star on the small rear patch and "Original" patch on front. Quite a few of my thongs and g-strings have been customized with patches.
Got a few compliments on my "swimsuit" and no complaints at the coffee shop.
Right now the weather is perfect for the beach or paddling. The Spring Breakers are loving it. We paddled past a few pool parties. Might be Air-B&B rentals or kids who have a relatives house to use. |

Want to take my SUP in one of my new g-strings, so exposed but so liberating and free, feeling the sun, water and mist on most of my body. Lots of people look and many stop me to talk. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:03/24/2026 02:34:32Copy HTML My wife and I were in a discussion about when she's going to retire. I'm already retired and do all of the housework, bill paying, grocery shopping, etc. My wife loves what she does and even though she can retire she doesn't want to. So..... I booked a couple of camping trips without her. One is to a lake in the Sierra's in May that rents SUP's. My plan is to wear my thong as much as I can while camping which includes renting the SUP for an afternoon on the lake. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:03/24/2026 01:15:48Copy HTML I strongly advise getting your own SUP. A blow up one will do but I prefer hard boards. The longer the better, 11 or 12 foot at least. You can get a good paddle board for $150 or less, which will save on rental prices.
You also need a lifejacket and whistle to be legal. In most jurisdictions you don't need to wear the lifejacket, just keep it with you on the paddle board. However if paddling in flowing water (rivers) or alone, or in cold water, it is recommended you wear it. Cold water shock can be debilitating. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/03/2026 04:02:48Copy HTML I have accumulated a bunch of used paddle boards. All hard boards, which hold up better over time, and can be repaired with epoxy putty and paint. Everything from your basic board through to 14' race boards.
Sometimes I am paddling alone, but when the tides are right I invite friends for a group paddle. If the afternoon tide is low then a shorter paddle down to the Sandbar where we hang out for a while and party with the locals and tourists. If the tide is going to high then we go the other way, up the river to a coffee shop. Paddle timed to take advantage of the tides both ways. On Friday a friend said she had the afternoon off. She is a dark brazilian with the world's most perfect bum. Looks stunning in a thong. I let her pick a thong for me and she selected a very tiny g-string. It was her first time at the Sandbar and she was perplexed. Asked me why there were boats full of women and others with just men, why were they not mixed? I explained that we now have a booming business is renting pontoon boats to bachelorette and bachelor parties. Other than the beach and the plethora of bars there is not much to do in this town for daytime fun. We are not Orlando. So groups rent an AirBB party house to stay in - and then party boat on Friday or Saturday during the daytime. The pontoon charter boats range from 6 or 12 passenger up to the newer large ones that can hold 30 or more. All the boats have a licenced captain and the larger ones have crew two. Some charter boats, like my friend's 75' cat are just too big for the crowded sandbar, so we just wave to them as they pass buy on their waterway tour. That boat will later anchor in the lagoon North of my house. Most of the lower cost charter rentals are pontoon boats, who now all crowd the sandbar, along with local boats. Not complaining because it makes for a good party. So on Friday just the two of us, but then met up with other paddle boarders and people from the party boats. Saturday afternoon half a dozen of us paddled down from my house. It was quite a party down there. We often see people who rent from Blue Moon or Las Olas Paddle Boards. both are located on Middle River by Sunrise Blvd. Renters have a little longer paddle to get to the Sandbar than if they started at my house, but shorter if going the other way to the coffee shop. Sunsplash this year is July 24-26. On the Friday low tide is at Noon, on saturday about 12:30 and 1:30 on Sunday. Friday and Saturday tend to be the party days, with Sundy being chiller. If you have a larger group then a pontoon rental makes sense. If just a few then you may want to rent paddle boards. The rental outlets are close, about 1.5 miles from Sunsplash hotels. If paddling rent for all day. When starting by Sunrise blvd set out two hours before low tide, so you have the tide flow with you helping you along. You want to be passing under the Las Olas Blvd bridge at least 30 min before low tide because flow on that section will reverse early. It is about 2 1/2 miles from the rental shop to the Sandbar. So with the tide behind you it should be less than an hour of paddling, depending on the wind. - Wear a bold and brave thong swimsuit. - Hat or cap. If we get a rain shower a cap with a brim will help keep the rain out of your eyes. Nobody is so cool they don't need a hat or cap. - Suntan lotion. - If you take a phone make sure it is waterproofed or waterproof pouch - and on lanyard. - Alcohol ok, but also bring some water or Gatorade. (NO GLASS) Aluminum can or plastic only. - Most people like to bring a few snacks to eat and share while chilling at the sandbar. Keep snacks waterproof zip-lock, dry bag or soft side cooler. - Don't take too much !! I am a bit aghast at the price of everything these days. All day paddle board rentals seem to be 75 to 99 dollars. For 150 you can buy your own inflatable or a good used paddle board from Facebook marketplace. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/15/2026 10:56:48Copy HTML Paddle boarded alone today, Friday. Met some women at the sandbar. Got a toot of recognition from both of the captains driving large two story tourist river boats as they passed. Today the cap on the Jungle Queen used his loud hailer to add an enthusiastic "Heck Yea!" too. I get it from boats but that's the first time from the Jungle Queen. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/18/2026 09:28:13Copy HTML JMR: Recently saw some posts on Instagram from a couple- she's SUPing in a G string in or around Whiskey Creek it appears and then she's TNG and in one paddles standing nude past some - what look like- State Park type signs and rails beside the waterway. I haven't been on that waterway but didn't realize that sort of freedom was possible there. From aerial views looks like some back channels on the East side of the ICW might be "private" on weekdays. Some of those channels on the West side in Dania look like they might be private too. Don't know about the depth in them or if snags prevent powerboats from entering or hanging out. Well aware that mosquitos may be a deal breaker in some mangrove back country locals on some days. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/19/2026 01:09:05Copy HTML Yesterday was my first time SUP'ing and I did it in a thong part of the time. I bought myself and my wife, each a new inflatable board along with a rechargeable inflater. I went out to a Jordan Lake beach where I often thong and gave it a try. Initially, I just sat and paddled out on the lake, floated around, laid out and tanned. Then I decided to try standing up and paddling, which was a success. Looking forward to doing it again very soon and getting my wife out on her new board. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/19/2026 05:07:45Copy HTML Congratulations thonglife. Some tips: - Inflate to a pound or so below max pressure. - Keep your weight over the handle. Feet either side. However if experiencing strong headwinds moving a little forward can help keep the front from blowing off to one side. - To stand up, place paddle at 90 degrees across the paddle board in front of you, - while still holding the paddle on the board for balance get your feet under you, placed either side of the center handle. Then just push up with your hands and quickly straighten your knees to stand up. This is simpler than trying to go from sitting to kneeling to fumbling around one foot at a time trying to stand. - When standing DON'T LOOK DOWN !! It is instinctive to look down at the paddle when trying to use it, but your balance comes from your eyes seeing the horizon. Keep your head up and eyes on the horizon as much as possible. Glance down if you must, but only for a fraction of a second. Don't look down and don't look over your shoulder or behind you. - Adjust the paddle for as long as you can, about the height of your top finger joints when hand extended overhead. I know there is a LOT of full hand over the top advice on the internet but longer is better. Don't use a shorter paddle as you will end to bend forward, and look down too much. A longer paddle helps you get the blade it in deeper, under the board, where as with a shorter paddle you have the blade out to the side. Also inflatables float higher so a little longer paddle makes sense. - Try to draw your strokes with the shaft near vertical as it glides alongside the board. Try to keep your top hand, the hand over the top of the paddle, not coming above the line between your eyes and the horizon. Extend the paddle well forward to start the stroke and drive the blade deep under the board as you push the paddle board over the top. Keeping the paddle shaft as vertical as possible when it comes past your feet helps to keep you going straight. Reduces the need to alternate sides every stroke. This is more difficult on inflatables as they are generally around 32" wide, so you need to make the effort to try for vertical paddle pushing you forward, rather than side paddle pushing the front around. - The sun reflects off the water so you get a double dose. Wear thong and a cap on your head. The cap reduces the suns direct glare. Your face and eyes get quite enough off the water reflation. A key float on the back strap of your cap will save your cap when you fall off. - If using sun glasses make sure you have them on a string. - Keep inflatables away from oyster shells, they are VERY sharp. - Falling off in deeper water is safer than shallow, because you are less likely to sprain your ankle when you hit the bottom. - Do NOT leave inflatables fully inflated on the beach in direct sunlight for long. The internet is full of mournful people who's paddle boards burst a seam when leaving in the sun on a hot beach. If keeping inflated for several days let out half the air when not in use. - You can wear a lifejacket, or in most jurisdictions just have one under the elastics of the paddle board. However an inflatable pfd (Type V) must be worn for it to count. If in cold climate or paddling in cold water wearing is recommended, and/or a wetsuit. - Float test your paddles. Some have foam core in parts so it won't sink, some don't and will sink once left in the water long enough. If you have sinkers you need to add thin cores of styrofoam, rolled up mini bubble wrap or similar waterproof closed-cell foam. Don't use spray open-cell foam, it will get waterlogged. - Add a couple of bands of bright white or reflective duct tape to the paddle shaft. If you drop it in low light or waves it will help you find it. Black don't show up well. Also helps if you have to wave it at someone if in distress. - Add good coating of Vaseline to the lower paddle board joint where there is a push button, in and around the push button. These tend to seize up. Do NOT add Vaseline to the top joint if the system is a friction clamp. You can if it is one that pops into a drow of holes. - Make an elastic tow line in case you have to help tow your partner home one day. Elastic not string. - An anchor with yellow polypropylene line, stored in a bag, is a useful accessory. I have a clip on mine so it is attached to the paddle board until I need it. You are going to find thonging while paddleboarding is a lot of fun. DON'T LOOK DOWN, and DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/21/2026 12:59:14Copy HTML Thanks for all the advice JM. I went out again yesterday and paddled in my thong. I have the hang of standing up but haven't got paddling while standing down yet. I am tall and wonder if my paddle is too short. After yesterday, what you said about a long paddle and not bending over makes sense. The weather here looks crappy for the next week but I will be out on my board again soon and taking my wife. She already paddles well but hasn't used her new board yet. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:05/24/2026 01:33:01Copy HTML thonglife, I find most of the paddle length advice on the internet to be misleading. The length for sprint racing when you are bent over is wrong for standing tall for long distance paddling. Also inflatables are a few inches taller of the water than a sunken deck flat water race board or a more traditional thin surfboard profile.
What matters is getting the paddle deep under the board. I suggest standing barefoot or in whatever water shoes you will be wearing, adjusting the length to where you can just put your hand or your fingertips over the top.
Learn to look at the horizon and fell the paddle rather than look at it. In the same way, when you are driving your car you look out the windscreen while feeling the accelerator and break pedals. If you are looking down at your accelerator pedal you crash your car. Don't look down.
Having your top hand over the end of the paddle helps you feel if it is in the correct orientation. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/02/2026 12:47:04Copy HTML It has been an off year for me in getting out SUP this year due to some travel and early spring back issues. I haven't hit 100 miles yet and hope to get close. But the good news is that I see others (women) in thongs most of my outings. This is new this year. Last night was no exception. I think there were two separate girls out there in thongs and as it was time for me to go home I ended up going in after a young couple. I didn't know she had a thong on but I am almost certain they saw me a bit earlier and I had mine on. They also saw me coming in to shore after them. As they were getting out of the water, it looked like she was going to put on a cover up but she didn't and they got out and started taking their stuff up the hill to the cars. This is when I saw she was definitely in a good looking thong bikini.
Sometimes I will get out of the water and walk up the bank to the sidewalk and turn-around area of the parking lot and put on my short shorts coverup. Sometimes I don't especially at this time of year or day. So I too walked up the hill to the cars in my thong. They were a few spots further down and the whole time they were packing up she didn't shy away from showing off her back side to me and seemed to go the extra mile in showing it off. Her boyfriend (I am guessing) didn't seem to care. We both were working to deflate and roll up the boards and showing off our butts. That was a bit fun. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/20/2026 11:52:57Copy HTML Back in Florida. Saturday rain was predicted but the day started sunny. Andres had messaged saying he would like to go to the Sandbar. I had volunteered to unpacked the pallet and setup the room for the afternoon food giveaway, so after that was finished he came over and we went paddling.
He is a hansom but shy young man of 25 he did not wear a thong but I did. When we got to the sandbar I did my usual estimation of the best approach, i.e. to paddle in past several of the bachelorette parties.
He was quite impressed by the enthusiastic glee from the young women as I paddled past. They are about his age, 25, not close to mine. He was later surprised when I told him how old I am.
We had a good time, partied with the women and made new friends. I think he is considering wearing a thong next time. After yesterday it should not take that much encouragement. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/21/2026 11:41:30Copy HTML I tried visiting Haulover inlet sandbar at a recommended time based on tides recently, a few days before Labor Day, not a soul was out. Granted it was on a Thursday, lol. But still, no one.
Anyway, the iSUP has been my best purchase for enjoying sunbathing in thongs and getting to places most people can't get to. Hope to paddle and enjoy going to sandbars in the future. |

Re:Stand-Up Paddle boarding in a Thong - SUP (Paddleboarding) Date Posted:09/21/2026 07:11:35Copy HTML thongexpert, South Florida Sandbars are normally a Friday, Saturday, Sunday thing.
First: Floridians have so many good weather days that if the forecast looks dubious they will be doing laundry or the grocery run instead of playing on the water.
Second: Depending on the sandbar in question, and the season of the year, Fridays and Saturdays can be good for guys in thongs because there are often a bunch of Bachelorette barges. Fridays can be excellent, less competition because the local weekend guys with their own boats are not out till Saturday.
This is especially true during the School summer holidays when the participants who teach or go to university have time off, or those with kids can dump them on the grandparents for the weekend.
Third: You went to Haulover sandbar. I am guessing you launched at Oleta State Park and came out through the mangrove tunnel. In theory they don't allow thongs in State parks, but I have. Once you are on the water nobody cares.
Haulover sandbar was a lot better before they dredged up the sand to do beach renouncement for the seafront properties to the South.
A lot of party boats no anchor off behind Beer Can Island/Sandspur Island where the racoons live. (Straight ahead from Oleta instead of turning left.)
I don't know what Haulover is like on a weekday. I have only been there on weekends. If it is anything like Fort Lauderdale then, if the weather is good, Friday will be relatively quiet, Saturday party day and loud music, and a late and more subdued crowed on Sunday. Similar with Lake Boca, except during Boca Bash. |
