But with Haulover just a few minutes away, it would be much better to do your thonging/topless at Haulover. I rode the bus several times, cost about $1 each way, and dropped you off maybe a couple of hundred yards from the nude part of Haulover.

I doubt that you will have any problems on any beacfh in Miami-Dade, except the State Park on Key Biscayne. Just don't expect to be in the majority, though. I have seen a few other males and quite a few females in that area thonging/topless.

But you might want to go to Haulover which is an official nude beach. Also, if it's open, you might want to stay at the Ocean Palm Motel where thongs and g-strings are popular by the pool.

Skanky as ever but close to Haulover. We encountered a number of thonged women (some topless) on the walk down to Haulover. I never wore more than a Skinz M32 red powernet release thong...from the room to beach and back to car...no problem. Elle wore her Skinz top and Brigitte thong and a sheer sarong for the walk to Haulover but "forgot" the thong on the walk back to OP. Just the sheer sarong and top. No problem...very laid back stretch of beach. To the north, thongs ok but too many kids Sunday. There was a van full of young "adults" staying in one room, I think. They were boozed up and rowdy, and we expected some comments from the guys in dork shorts. It turned out just fine, though; the guys were eying Elle's butt and the girls were checking out mine! It'll be a sad day when the OP closes.

There were a lot more thongers at the pool (all women) and a couple at the beach. Thongs seemed MUCH more common this year than any other time I've been there (going back about 7 years).
I wasn't around a lot, but did spend some time at the beach as I prefer the salt water as was comfortable there. There is some open space on the beach to the North as they complete some buildings there. I spent some alone time there enjoying the sand and water. I would expect you will have fun. If you haven't been there and want a few tips in dining, etc let me know. Enjoy! |

It probably varies from day to day, this was a Wednesday in February. But absolutely follow the advice of the previous replies. Do what you prefer, you're there to enjoy outdoor nudity, otherwise you're subjecting yourself to the same dictates as the person who has to "look good" by buying the $100 swimming suit at the other beaches.

I set up closer to the gay section so lots of eye candy as well as older men. As someone wrote earlier, there are all kinds and shapes. Most men were either trimmed or shaved, but not all. I decided to go with the trimmed look for me. I was somewhat surprised that some folks were there and never went nude, particularly with the larger groups of gay men. All in all, it was a super day and I hope to return again. |

In your case, the Newport is right on the beach, about a mile north of Haulover. So is that walking distance for you? You could walk along Collins Avenue or along the beach. The Google street view shows both paths. I use my desktop computer to navigate along those paths, just like I'm "walking it", to get an idea of what it will be like. I doubt you'll encounter any problem wearing beachwear. It's a beach town. And you're at the beach. People expect to see beachwear! A Google street view of Collins once showed a couple guys on the sidewalk in front of Haulover wearing only their briefs. In beach towns, it's common to see people in beachwear on sidewalks near the beach. I've observed several guys walk toward Haulover from the apartments across Collins wearing only their "speedo" and sneakers. Wearing only my g-string and flip-flops, I have walked from the old Ocean Palm Motel along the beach and along the sidewalk. And I've parked in the lot and made my way to the beach in only the g-string and flip-flops. |

The beach sand walk would be no trouble in thongs, don't know about TNT. The street sidewalk would be a bit different...the people on the sidewalk are more conservative than South Beach but probably no problem. The direction you're facing relative to traffic might matter. You might cause an accident if you're walking ass to traffic!! |

The Newport isn't too far and even walking on the sand it should be around a 15 minute stroll. The Missus and I stay further north at the Thunderbird Beach Resort and I walk to the nude section at Haulover every morning. Because it is further, I tend to walk on the sidewalk along Collins instead of the sand. it makes for a faster stroll.
When the wife comes with me later in the day, we drive.
I haven't seen any TNT on the beach (except Haulover) but thongs are fairly common.

The main reason I booked it was the proximity to Haulover, but the walk was pretty unpleasant on most days. Deep/loose sand to walk through and generally pretty conservative crowd until you get past the last high rise tower.
Fair amount of fuller coverage thongs on women on the whole beach, but only about 2% of men even in brief cut suits w/ no thongs for the whole 2 weeks (besides me on a couple days).
For the Newport specifically, the hotel restaurant was soooo bad. I'm not much of a foodie, I don't expect much, but wow. Some really nice little spots nearby though.
I think next time we'd probably book an Airbnb nearby or stay somewhere nicer within easy driving distance
All that said, it was a great trip! Hard to beat south Florida waters and Haulover was quite an experience |

Those on the west side of Collins are still "affordable" butt those on the Ocean are almost 10 times per square. That said if you don't own a place short term rentals seem to be banned in most of the buildings. The short term rentals in North Miami Beach- west of the beach are few. Rentals units in North Beach- that's beyond Bal Harbor toward South Beach are around. These two options are not walkable, but buses do run down Collins if you don't want hassle of a car. It would be nice if someone catered to the nudies with a clothing optional hotel somewhere, or a clothing optional transportation to an inland rental or hotel/hostel. |

While there are some who try to skirt the law and sometimes succeed, you are running a risk when you book an Airbnb or similar here. We had an incident about a month ago when a group booked a unit in my building. They were told that their short term rental contract was null and void and that they had to leave. Probably had to spend an arm and a leg in a nearby hotel. |

Taking the bus down to Haulover Beach is very simple and convenient. There’s plenty of places to eat within walking distance. I highly recommend staying here if you’re wanting to go to Haulover.

Stayed at a rental in Sunny Isles Beach because I wanted to be close to Haulover, which was awesome! Everyday walked to/from beach in Orocojuco tear drop g-string, no other cover up brought this time! Got a few good looks. Actually saw a woman barely covered with a towel walking from beach to her vehicle. She was practically nude as she purposely didn't have the towel cinched. I tried to find her in the parking lot but she left...wasn't to be. Saw lots of women TNG on the beach and a few men in thongs but mostly people were nude. Didn't venture into south beach this time.
A few days later drove NW to Tampa/St. Petersburg and made a stop at Ft. Desoto park, where you now pay the $5 at the parking lots. There was a pay to park kiosk near the off road parking area closest to the thong area. As I walked to the beach, the trails were bone dry which was nice, but it was super hot. When I got to the beach there was NOBODY there.
After I left the fort, I drove into Tampa and stayed at a clothing optional resort for a few days, which also was amazing. Noticed some females there did swim in what looked like their thong panties. Although I thought I read you must be nude in the pools/no swimsuits. Regardless very interesting time there and was 100% nude 100% of the time I was there. Would definitely go back. |

The criteria that we looked for was proximity to beach and overall amenities. Read the reviews and determine what you like. A pool was important for my wife, but I prefer the beach. Have fun! |

Let us know the name of the place if you like it. Thongs at the pool will probably be no prob....butt nothing like the nudie pool at the Ocean Palms Motel formerly at site of that very tall sloped building.
The new super highrise condos north of Haulover have eliminated the motels/hotels people used to use for Haulover- now most people have to drive there. |

For those of you who can't make it to SIB there's a new way to join in. On Youtube there's a live feed from a camera on the Pier pointed North. This feed as posted can be viewed back about 12 hr. so it's not just what's there in real time.

On a nice day I would say this camera catches a woman in a thong at least every 10 min if not 5 min. The women there are almost all Ukrainian or other Eastern European so they seem to favor thongs. Even when a family shows up with little kids mom is always in a thong!
This beach as you can see has wall to wall ultra high rise apartments- few if any hotels- and seems to be patrolled at night by police ATV's. These factors seem to make night time skinny dipping difficult- not yet seen on camera! Oh but if the camera went back 25-30 years!
There was also another live only camera on the south side of the pier- not searchable. There a lot of thongs and occasional TNT can be seen.
