 Who's the admin of the chatroom? I can't log in. Somehow the password has changed.

Someone must've typed the wrong password (if nobody is logged in, the first person to do so sets the password) and got locked in. It'll probably take a few days before the site resets.
For whoever logged in incorrectly, the password is supposed to be 234 

Looks like the site has reset now.  I tried to login this morning (10h45 Uk time) and it was OK.

For users of the site, if you are the first one in there it is vital to use the correct password - 234 - otherwise others that sign in after you can't get in. 

If i am the only person on there, i make it a habit to log out and back in again occasionally so that if i accidentally had gotten the password wrong i dont lock others out for an extended period of time.

If you're in North America, you should login during the day. And if you're in Europe, night time works.A lot of UK users come online at 7pm UK time. That's 2pm Eastern time.

 Like many of you, I go to the chat room and no one is ever there.   You can wait for a long period of time and still no one shows up.  I have an idea.  What if we set an exact time when everyone tries to go on to the chat room and visit with one another?  What if all of us in the U.S. logs on at 5pm EST, which would be 10pm in the UK.   I believe I have the time different listed correctly with there being a five hour time difference.  Not sure what time this would be down under in Australia and other parts of the world.    What do you think?   Would this work?  Let's just try it......starting TODAY.   If you want to try this, how about posting a response...."I'll be there".     I have to admit that I've forgotten how to get there and how to log on.  I know the password is 234, but don't remember how to get there.  I believe you type in "thong board" and then "234".   Am I correct?

 There's been a lot of consternation over the updated Chatstep interface, I've been testing the platform and thought I would take a few minutes to clarify some things.  If you're not interested in chat I apologize for wasting your time, but this seemed like the best place to put this where everyone who's interested would see it.

- The biggest change is that the updates introduced the concept of permanent member accounts.  Creating an account is simple: click the link, provide an email address, your desired username and a password for your account (NOT the 234 room password), and you're good to go.  I have not yet seen anything in the chat that reveals the email address associated to your account.  Creating an account offers several benefits - keep reading.

- The chat itself is still an ad-hoc service.  Previously, the room didn't technically exist until the first user logged into it and set the 234 password.  This is still the case, only now the room can only be created by a registered member.  If someone tries to log in the old way and a member hasn't created the room, they'll get an error.  Members will get a menu upon logging in, using the join option will place you in the room if it exists, the create option will set it up if it doesn't.

- You can still log in the old way without creating an account - chatstep calls this logging in anonymously - as long as a member has created the room.

- The room name is case-sensitive, we use all lower-case "thongboard".  They've gotten it to where using incorrect case will put you into the room, but it will append the room name to your username.

- Anonymous users aren't allowed to share files/photos, only registered members.

- Registered members can stay logged into the room even after they've left by simply closing the browser window containing the chat room.  In the member list, hollow circles represent inactive members.  To remove your presence from the room when leaving, use the "leave room" option in the "room settings" menu.

- As long as the room is continuously active (ie. the user list doesn't empty out), it will retain the last 100 lines or so of history.  When a user logs out their posts are retained, but their name is taken off and replaced with "user".  Any posted photos will expire upon leaving the room as well.  Logged entries from inactive users are grayed out.  If a member wishes to anonymize their posts when leaving they would need to leave the room using the button described above.

- I'm sure there are still some bugs out there; I'm hearing reports of browser incompatibilities and issues regarding active user identification.  I don't have all the answers - system upgrades are always a trade-off and at least the interface appears to be more stable and pop-up free, addressing two big complaints from the old system.  I run Google Chrome on my PC and Android devices and have not had any issues with access.

I hope this clears up some concerns about the upgrade.  It really isn't that bad, just takes some getting used to.  Chatters that still have questions or concerns can PM me on here and I'll do my best to answer them.  Thanks for reading and happy chatting!

 Is anyone else having an issue with being booted from the chat by errors, and not being able to get back in. Is the discord chat still operating, and is anyone using it? We may need to move operations there if this persists in chatstep

 Should we just make a Skype group?

 That could be a viable option, kiyoothong. Definitely worth exploring

Anyone ever thought about using Discord for this?

We used to have a chatroom on Discord. It just didn't work out. Personally, I am not a fan of Discord. The interface is confusing
