I can see why women like skirts in the hot weather. Recently walking around a beach town with that on and a mesh G under it was really cool on my ass and ballz- every breeze appreciated!
Who knows it's possible that a sort of skirt might become popular for guys--- with a underliner like thong. That would get guys in thongs and it's a whole lot more comfortable than tight or long shorts. |

Before I started my driving route, the office called and asked me to stop by to pick up some work related items. I have only been on the job since the end of May and I was not sure how I would be perceived by wearing a skirt to the office. We have a casual dress code, so just about anything goes and it is a small tech consulting business. Sometimes, it is required polo shirts and jeans or dockers when clients make an appearance. But for some reason in the back of my mind, I was concerned about wearing my skirt in front of people that I work with, but only see when I'm required to come in for an occasional meeting. So any way, my worries went for naught when I showed up. Just two folks at the office, one engineer and my project manager. No mention or care about what I was wearing. It just goes to show how much we all can psych out about what other think about our attire, same goes for thonging in public. |

My outfit was a sea blue headband, sleeveless pastel orange top with and an aqua green knee length Skort with pleated sides (yoga skirt w/ built in compression shorts) She loved the color combinations. I modeled them for the class of onlookers in the foyer. I told her I like the side pockets for keys, phone and wallets for running errands after class. Plus in hot summer weather they are cooler to wear than tights or leggings. |

As of recent weeks I only have been wearing pants, blue jeans or dockers as needed to the occasion. I have been a regular skirt or leggings wearer most days. The exceptions have been church or work when meeting with clients in a business casual situation as mandated by the boss. So, yesterday it was 50 degrees, wet, cloudy and rainy day. I wore jeans to church and went to my grandson's football game. But before the game I stopped by the Pet store to pick up some dog food for my puppy.
See previous post for interaction with store clerk:
"Went to the pet store pick up some dog food, the clerk knows me as a regular customer. I was wearing a black jean skirt with a t shirt, ball cap and flip flops. She mentioned at check out how much she like my outfit and my painted toenails (orange w/ glitter). She even called over two of her coworkers to check out my nails."
So anyway, I see the same clerk and she see me in my jeans. She says "I don't think I have ever seen you in long pants, you have been wearing skirts all summer. Now it is true she has seen me only in skirts or leggings most times I have been there. Jokingly, I said thanks for noticing but I is kind of wet and cold out to wear a skirt. Sorry to disappoint you! We both laughed out loud. She then says don't tell your wife that I like looking at your legs! It really makes my day when I visit this store. |

I have been obsessed with buying Skirts as of late. I have a new past the knee to the calf black skirt to match my tan skirt, which is more of a formal dress outfit. I also bought 2 used skorts, one blue jean material and the other in black nylon and spandex(prefect outfit for work). My wife tolerates my skirt wearing but sometimes question my fashion sense. Like she is not sure if my clothes match my outfit.
I have been reading and researching non- binary and gender neutral fashion. I'm not into the super femboy outfit, but I do like wearing skirts that are more unisex for daily wear out in the world. Sometimes I feel everyone in looking at me just like when I put on my thong at the beach. But this is a battle in my own head that I have of overcome. There's only a few times and place I won't wear a skirt yet and one is church, the second in men's cigar club bible study, and my grandson's Sunday football games.
I'm not ready in my head to roll out my clothing preferences to some of the people I know in public. Maybe these places represent what a male should wear by default in these cases. And I don't want to explain what I have on to anybody. |

It has been a good run but now I'll have to wait for spring and warm weather. I have been trying out wearing skirts with leggings underneath but I'm not sure of the fashion look. I have plain colors and wild pattern tights to match with my base color skirts. My wife thinks they don't match. Any suggestions out there? So until then I guess I'll just be wearing my leggings alone. |

I took the change to wear my denim skirt with past the knee to the mid calf line hem and split in the back to the knee, with a pair of wooden clogs and a hoodie. Did some errands after church. Went to the supermarket, Mall and Marshalls. I did some looking around for a new skirt since I was out and about. Plus I love talking to the female store clerks about skirts for men. They are always very helpful, kind and not judgemental. No luck today, Skirt season in over until spring, maybe I'll get the chance to visit some warmer climate the upcoming winter. Where I can wear my skirts. |

I like the look better than shorts over leggings and with layers of clothing over my legs they add warmth for cold rainy or snowy weather. Plus I wear them together to run errands, go to yoga or just hanging out at the coffee shop or at home. I wear all kinds of color combos to match my outfits and different lengths from mid thigh to below the knee to the calf. Most of my skirts have pockets so I have room for keys, wallet and cell phone. I have gotten a lot of looks and positive comments on my choice of fashion from a strangers. |

However, I had to stop at the office 1st to drop off some work related equipment. I wore a pair of red joggers to the office, then changed back to my skirt in the bathroom when I left. I'm hesitant to wear skirts in front of certain people and situations. My 90 year old mother is not a big fan of my skirts, she thinks its not manly. My wife is tolerant but not always supportive of my fashion choices. I won't wear a skirt to the cigar shop to hang out, to church or in front of my adult kids. Yesterday, My 34 year old daughter made a surprise visit when I got back home. So, I chicken out out and switched back into the red joggers before I entered the house. I'm not quite ready to show this side of my personality to everyone yet. |

I'm always in the market for a thrift skirt shopping just for kicks. I found a black spandex pencil skirt to the knees with the ripped horizontal holes and a olive green calf lenght skirt. I took them to the cashier for check out. I still was not sure about my decisions to buy these to items, so I asked the sales lady at the counter what she thought and held them up to my body to get her opinion. She said they both looking fabulous on me. She was in her 70's if that matters, but seemed to have a good sense of fashion. I asked her if any men came in to buy skirts on a regular basis. She said not very much to her knowledge. But she was aware of the unisex or non binary clothing trend. |

I wore my gray fleece winter leggings and a black knee length corduroy skirt with a jacket with tan Boots. I was getting in the elevator to the lobby from the parking garage, 3 ladies in their 80's got in. We exchanged hellos and commented on the cold weather. Out of the blue, one mentioned how much she loved my outfit especially the skirt and tights. And her friends chimed in on how warm I must be in the cold climate. I Thank them. One of them said I wear it well and can pull it off and I have great gams(legs) to show off. Needless to say I was smiling from ear to ear. These elderly ladies made my day for sure. |

So since in Rome do the Bourbon trail of distilleries downtown. I wore a black denim Old Navy brand mini skirt. I went to several spots around the UK campus that featured beer and whiskey distilleries. I was alone but no big deal since I was on a business trip and I made new friends where ever I went. I happen upon a Goodwill store and bought to new skirts. One blue jean material and the other tan khaki mid thigh length skirt. I'm a fool for anytime I see a Goodwill shop and the opportunity to buy a new skirt is open. So anyway I proceed to the Bourbon spots near downtown Lexington and found lots of great places to eat and drink. When I was set to leave one of the folks at the bar commented on my skirt in a positive fashion. She and her boyfriend gave me the thumbs usp as I was leaving and said I love your outfit big guy. You wear it well!. Not only did this make my day it gave me extra confidence that wearing a skirt is normal, no matter what part of the country I happen to be in at the time. |

I have recently started wearing thong underwear again but due to my bladder leakage issues I have to wear a dribble pad in case of accidents. Depends has a small leak shield that fit into the pouch of my thong, So long brief bottom underwear. I enjoy the ventilation of the air up my skirt when the wind breeze provides relief from hot sticky temps on my bare ass. |

It was 95 degrees out so the air blowing between my legs was welcoming. I was in the middle of doing a DIY home improvement project, so I had to run to LOWE'S for some missing supplies to finish the job. I went into the store and sought out a sales associate for help. He was maybe the same age as I was (66 btw if anyone is asking) and helped me find the items I needed to finish the work. After he had shown me where the supplies were located, he asked me if I was wearing a skirt. He commented it looked good on me and where he could buy one for himself. He was wearing cargo shorts but he was still way to hot. I said I'm a skirt convert and don't wear shorts at all in this kind of heat. I told him I got this particular skirt at Goodwill. I also advised him to check out Burlington Coat Factory, Ross and any other retail stores or shop online. He said the next time I come into the store you will see me in a skirt. We both laughed and I went on my way. It is so good to see other men being open to genderless fashion options and taking the time to ask someone about it.

Last summer I started wearing skirts for a number of different reasons. I wish I started sooner.
It also seem when I shop at certain stores where I have bought skirts in the past I have become a regular customer. Example: I was at the mall shopping at a place called Torrid. I tried out a dress and went to the changing room, the sales woman remembered my name from that last time I was at the store. On another occasion I went to a store called ROSS, a discount clothing outlet. I picked out a couple of skirts and went to the changing room to try on the items. I came out and the sales lady asked if was buying any of them that I selected. She was standing next to her female store manager who seemed perplexed that I was trying out skirts. The 1st sales lady said "Oh he comes in all the time to buy skirts as a regular customer."
I mainly shop at Torrid, ROSS, Burlington Coat Factory, TJ MAXX, MARSHALLS and Goodwill thrift shops the employees are super awesome. I also dress up for church, social events out and about for everyday. Everyone is usually pretty awesome at these stores and I get a lot of compliments. My shopping experiences has always been great friendly vibes, no high pressure sales tactics to buy and the employees only want you to buy what looks good on you.
Follow up to shopping yesterday: I went back to ROSS to get the skirt I didn't buy I saw the same 2 sales ladies. The 1st one said "I see you are back to get that skirt you wanted but didn't pull the trigger" I shyly smiled and nodded. I found the skirts in the rack and a CK olive green 3X size dress with a dress shirt type collar. I went to the changing room and tried them on. I made it a point to ask the sales lady's opinion. She gave me thumbs up on the 2 skirts and she wasn't sure about the below the knee CK dress. So i got the skirts but left the dress. I still looking for a dress that's not too overtly femme but more gender neutral. My body type seems not to match most dresses(6ft. 5in, 250) Any suggestions on brands to buy would be welcomed.

Thanks for your responses here is the deal. I'm not trying to cross dress like traditional drag queen Like RuPaul drag race. I just wearing skirts instead of traditional pants or shorts. True this is a thong forum, but also mentioned in the forum are tights and leggings with thongs. There is a lot of overlap in fashion subject matter on the board like toenail polish, shaving an other subjects that relate to thong wearing in public.

Shaving however is closely related to thong wearing imo.
Leggings is also related in terms of vpl and revealing the outline of a thong...
This is interesting though when you think about kilts or komonos or sarongs which all have strong cultural ties..I just don't think they overlap enough |

Don't confuse "skirts for men" with crossdressing. It is more intricated.
Well, to be honest, during heat wave, I am a little envious about women who can wear light dress, whereas men must wear long pants and shirts. It is not fair. We even can't wear a short at work. Double standard at work is very hard during heat wave. |

If you want to label me as a cross dresser for wearing a skirt or kilt instead of pants or shorts, so be it. I just like to explore gender neutral fashion. Don't confuse "skirts for men" with crossdressing, it's the same with yoga pants, tights, leggings and THONGS. It doesn't matter that I like to wear a skirt on a day to day as a change of pace in my wardrobe and not as cultural dress or to festivals. There should be no Double standard as far as what I wish to wear period. You my not like it but it is my choice to feel free in my appearance to the public. It might not be your thing and that's OK for you. We should pass judgement on others. Just saying! |

I wore a new powder blue pleated miniskirt with a thong and leggings. I was chilly at first but as the temps rose to the 80's with plenty of sunshine. I ditched the leggings and I enjoyed the warm breeze as the fabric of the skirt fluttered on my bare backside. I have wore skirts most of the summer with thongs only but with fall approaching I will be wearing more tights and leggings with my skirts as the weather get cooler. |

I went to a store called Just Tights were the owner considers me a regular customer and knows me by name. I told her I was looking for some thermal tights to wear with my skirts. She showed me the fleece leggings on sale and helped me pick out some matching colors for my outfits . She mentioned how much she loved my purple leggings, burgundy plaid skirt knee length and black sweatshirt. It always makes me feel good to get positive comments.
Also this past weekend It was near freezing and I was headed to to do my morning hot yoga class. I had on my blue leggings over my thong, orange sleeveless top, multi color matching headband, hoodie and below the knee gray fleece skirt. As I was leaving the house my wife asked me "Did I get a new skirt?" She really thought it looked good on me. As I entered the studio the yoga teacher mentioned how nice I looked and she looks forward to see what outfit I wear to class. After class a female friend mentioned my stylish looking outfit. As I was putting on my skirt, she said let me see what you have on, so of course I modeled it for her. We went on to discuss what to wear in cold weather. I told hear I like long skirts with thermal or fleece leggings and hoodies, since I hardly ever wear sweatpants anymore. She agreed that fashion choice is more practical for winter weather and I make it look good. I thanked her. |

But anyway, on a recent visit while browsing thru the store with my wife we came upon the skirt section. Since she supports my skirt habit, we found a few that I might like. So, I took a the choices off the rack and went to the dressing room. I came out in each of the different skirts and modeled them for her. Her opinion on fashion was super helpful in picking out a new skirt. I have been with her when shopping for pants or other men's clothing and she showed the same enthusiasm for wearing skirts. |

If you want to label me as a cross dresser for wearing a skirt or kilt instead of pants or shorts, so be it. I just like to explore gender neutral fashion. Don't confuse "skirts for men" with crossdressing, it's the same with yoga pants, tights, leggings and THONGS. It doesn't matter that I like to wear a skirt on a day to day as a change of pace in my wardrobe and not as cultural dress or to festivals. There should be no Double standard as far as what I wish to wear period. You my not like it but it is my choice to feel free in my appearance to the public. It might not be your thing and that's OK for you. We should pass judgement on others. Just saying! |

I personally have never seen men in skirts, I think that if we lived in a different time it would be acceptable (if that is what they're wearing at the time) but we're here and people tend to put others in boxes and we wouldn't fit in them :( |
