I know this has been touched on in a variety of other threads but I thought I'd start a specific discussion about those activities and sports we do, have done in the past, or would like to do in the future in a thong or g-string.

Like most of us my primary thong activity is tanning. When I'm on vacation (usually in the Mediterranean) I'll take a walk along the beach in my thong or go swimming in the sea in a thong. I also like to play paddleball or frisbee in a thong if there's sufficient room on the beach.

At home, I often work out in a thong, including free weights, bench work and running (on the treadmill). However, there's a whole load of other sports and activities I've not done in a thong but would love to: beach running (like JM), cycling, hiking, scuba diving, jet-skiing, kayaking, tennis, squash, going to a waterpark, parasailing, swimming at a public swimming pool... the list could go on! What about others? What have you tried?

My family and I have worn only thongs while been canoeing (sometimes nude), horseback riding, jet skiing, snorkeling (sometimes nude on Carribean vacations but havent done diving yet) boating (which is usually done in the nude) Sand volloeyball with other thonger friends, long drives in the country, as you said, the list could go on.

Sailing is my favorite activity in a thong.   We get good adhesion on the cockpit seats  when heeling over with our bare asses!  If other sailors see our thongs, it's happened that a race is on, they'll chase us for a better look!

Thanks for the responses guys! You've reminded me that I missed snorkelling and blading off my list. Would definitely like to try both of those in a thong! I've never been sailing but sounds like something I might enjoy...

I haven't done anything in just a thong, but I'd like to do some of my Tae Kwon Do training at the park in just a thong. Be up on a hill meditating, doing forms, excercises, paddle drills with a friend or whatever on a really hot day in just a thong.

I'd love to swim laps in a thong. Especially a Dore Micro Torpedo. Problem is that's not a suit to waer in most public situations, so I haven't had the opportunity. Done a few laps in a more sedate thong, but not a Micro Torpedo.

My standard thong sports activity is wearing a Jim Microfiber for support under running tights/compression shorts and cycling shorts. This is 2 or 3 times a week, year-round.  In hot weather, I switch the compression shorts for Gregg short shorts with sides split to the waist.

The skimpier swim thongs are great for tanning, but that is only for  a few days or on holiday. For regular workouts, nothing beats a well-fitting thong instead of a jock strap.

As I've said before, I do a fair amount of surfing in a thong. Tanning, swimming, and walking the beach are best enjoyed in only a thong. Sitting around outside on a hot afternoon with a cold beer rates pretty well, too!

just 2 weeks ago I was cross country skiing in a thong. The day ended up being really hot and sunny for this time of year so I took my pants off to get relief from the heat. I new thier wouldn't be any people there so I did about 20 minutes of skiing in my thong and a long sleeve t-shirt. I'm going to try snowshoeing in the next couple of weeks if weather permits.

I've taken a few snorking trips out in a boat wearing just a g-string. The concept of having no options to cover my butt made it rather exciting.

At Club Med on the French islands some of the windsurfers wore thongs and a few them were nude. One would have to be an expert wind surfer to do that. What if you got caught in a strong wind, ended up "running free" to a textile beach and then could not work your way back? Or what if you had to tack over and over again to get back through hostile territory? That would be a little be too much excitement for me.

You should get something that breathes...  Stay away from mesh thongs though because the fabric irritates you a little and will make you sweat more than the other types.  I think the coolmax calvin klein thong is the absolute best thong for working out in.  It breathes great and gives good support.  Unforunately it has an elastic band around the waist, but who cares about looks when working out?

I was visiting my Dad at the weekend and ended up washing my car on his drive. The sun was shining (a rarity here!) and I sooo wished I could do the whole 'g-string/thong car wash' thing! I know others have mentioned it in other threads so I guess that's what made me think of it but it also made me think of other activities I'd like to do in a thong... clearing the garden, having a bbq, house maintenance, etc... come to think of it... that'd make me the English azcraig! Lol!

Fishing in a thong is the best, either on foot along the river or in my 12 foot aluminum boat. I still would love to go on a water slide in my skimpiest g string which is very small. I would also like to go golfing in a thong or g string on a hot sunny afternoon golf beer thongs and sun I only wish.

I race miniature motorcycles and I wear a lycra unitard under my leathers 'cause it allows me to move without the suit binding.  Well, often times I wear a thong under the lycra - and when I'm donning my gear, a little bit 'o exhibitionism emerges as I wonder if anyone can detect the thong lines that are undoubtedly present.  No one's said anything yet but this season is just starting.  We shall see.

I use thongs for exercise as well.  They  provide support, and freedom of movement. I prefer them to the traditional jockstrap. They are more comfortable in warm weather than the bulky boxer briefs etc.   Although I do not have the body nor the courage to wear one in public I find them very utilitarian.  After all thongs were originally for men. The were called posing straps during the fifties and sixties.

I wear boxer briefs and bikini underwear 80% of the time but nothing beats a thong or g-string.

I work out and run in a thong.  I ran a marathon with a thong under my shorts.  I cannot run without a thong on - too uncomfortable.

Other sports I've done in a thong:

Beach volleyball

Rollerblading

Baseball

Hockey

Swimming

I have 6 of these coolmax thongs (bright blue waist band and in black/white) which I wear regularily they are very comfortable. Have not seen them for sale anywhere since. If buying in IK; for sport look at Next Directory on line they have their "ultra range". Have not got any of these but do wear the other thongs which next had in the last catalogue.

The Jockey next-to-nothing thong is synthetic but breathes real good - better than many other "sport" synthetic underwear I have. Being partly sheer helps I'm sure.

I find the cotton 2xist Ybacks or the Rips "Jock" are perfect for working out. Just the right sweat and the cotton, while not necessarily breathable, does soak up sweat. 2xist does make the Yback in their Move line which is more like a mesh microfiber which would be a good try too.

there was a Chilean company that made really good thongs, that I think would have been great for sports. I had their X3d thong. Can't remember the name of the company... Oh, wait, yes I can! It's Ergowear. They make really nice stuff. It'll run you about $13 per thong, which is a bit pricey, but they're good, and extremely well made and durable. Such a shame that I lost that one. Anyway, check them out. They're on the web, and I believe theres a seller on ebay that keeps a fairly good supply of them.

I had a really great experience tonight. I recently bought a turbo trainer for my bicycle so I can get fit again in the comfort of my own dining room - I used to ride a lot about 10 years ago but I gave up after a bad accident. One thing I have found is that when you ride hard and you're not outside you sweat buckets as you don't get the cooling effect of the wind rushing past. So, tonight, my housemate was out so I decided to try training in just a thong, along with my cycling socks and shoes, and, problem solved. The only slight new problem I had was that when I did sweat a bit I started sticking to the saddle! Something made me get off the bike after about 45 mins, and as I did so I heard her key in the lock so I pulled my cycling shorts on real quick. She knows I thong but I'm sure she would have fallen about laughing if she'd seen that!

So, I was wondering, does anyone else do regular sports activities in a thong, especially cycling, and have you done it in public? What was the reaction?

I race BMX in a thong all the time.  I feel more comfortable riding in a thong as compared to the boxer briefs I wore before.  I wear Undergear Microfiber contour thongs exclusively for racing.  They feel great and the support is outstanding.  I also use these for any other athletic activities for the same reason.

I often cycle in a thong (under cycle shorts for padding) and find it is the most comfortable, supportive and coolest. Also use indoor "Exer-skier" in a thong with socks and trainers. Probably looks mad, but I don't care because the comfort is greater!

I wear thongs when I'm swimming in the local public swimming pool and to the beach. A trip to the beach usually include a bike ride of 35 km (20 miles). I have often played with the thought af wearing a thong (only) to and from the beach. I have never carried out this fantasy, however, and I probably never will - I just don't dare and I also think, that it might too much "in the face" of the cardrivers, who passes me. Instead I sometimes wear a very narrow bikini and a short t-shirt. That way I stay a bit decent and at the same time vents my exhibitionistic vein. Are any other boardmembers practising this play?

I've never adventured to wear a thong other than on the beach, rarely at the swimming pool (unless one of those adults pools at resorts or hotels).

I currently don't live very close to the beach, but a few years ago I used to, so I could often ride my pushbike to and from the beach on a hot day  just wearing a pair or runners and a speedo (on top of a thong to sunbake on the beach) or just a string bikini.   I've seen many people doing it too, however it can become risky with some redneck motorists who always hang around.   I think that the closer you ride your pushbike to the beach, the more acceptable it is.   But I don't think I would ever have the courage to do it just wearing a thong.

Tyr,

I have ridden my bicycle to and from the beach on Key Biscayne with no problems. I wear a pair of brief running shorts until I get the the bridge to the islands, then take them off an put them in my bag. I am not comfortable riding through the city streets with only a thong but feel comfortable after I get to a road next to the water. The feeling of riding with only a thong is wonderful.

I also jog regularly in the surf with only a thong.

I swim laps at my health club pool in a thong.  Nothing too extreme like Dore or Koala, but I do wear a Skinz M45 thong.  Been doing this for over a year now, and so far no reaction from the pool staff.  I do get occasional stares from other members.  I also wear thongs under lycra shorts when working out in the gym.

Thank you all for your comments. I agree, that thonging while biking on a normal road is hard to justify. However I think, that biking on the beach is comparable to jogging and therefore acceptable. I will continue occasionally to wear a narrow bikini in stead of bike trunks, when riding on normal roads.

I guess it depends on what you mean. If you are asking simply what activities we do in a thong alone, I would have to say sunning and swimming (occasionally with a walk along the beach or a dip in the hot tub thrown in). I have been on an organised snorkelling trip to the reef and worn only a thong, and I have occasionally worn a thong for pool swimming.

If, however you mean what activities we do wearing a thong under clothes, I'd have to say everything. I run, cycle, go to the gym and do yoga in a thong with lycra shorts over, and I've not yet had any adverse comments. I've even played rugby league with a thong under my rugby shorts. I do have to say that this is risky though, because your shorts could get pulled down or ripped completely off, which would definately raise some eyebrows!

I haven't submitted anything in quite a while. This past week I started working out in my basement gym in just my thong. What an awesome feeling! It was a warm day and had changed into a pair of thin nylon shorts. I like the possibility of someone seeing my thong thru the shorts. So, after I put the kids to bed, I went down into my basement to workout. After the first squat rep, I took the shorts off because they weren't conducive for that exercise. Damn! I should done that earlier. Not only did the squat movement get easier, I felt really, really sexy! I was super sweaty after the squat sets. Right at that time, my wife called out to me for some computer help. When I got to her, she did a double-take. She really like how sexy I looked all sweaty and wearing a tiny thong. I continued my lower body workout, and Jennifer would occasionally peak in to see my thong workout. I felt great! I've done several other workouts in only a thong. I love the freedom of movement and the sexiness of it all.

Back story - Since I moved to northern Colorado, I haven't had the time flexibility to sign up with a gym. So, I logged onto Craigslist and bought a used free-weight home gym that has a squat rack, lat pull, row pull, bench press, etc. It does almost everything I did at the gym. This way I still have time to spend with the family.

I spent an amazing week in Phuket this past Xmas; my daily run I did in really short shorts slit to the waist band with a thong underneath. With the high humidity my body was glistening with sweat as i did my 10 - 12 kilometres through town or mainly along the beach front. Lots of looks were generated and the occasional comment which I enjoyed.
At the end of my run I would go dripping into the 7eleven to buy a bottle of water and always paid at the till of this hot youngThai lady, who really ran her eye over me . Cross the road to the beach, take off my shoes and ditch the shorts and have a long swim in the warm tropical surf. Lazed a bit in the morning sun checking out the talent and took another quick dip in the sea. Sliped the shorts on and walk to the hotel to join the wife for breakfast.  Really magical.

You know I was never big on wearing a thong while exercising, but lately I have to admit they have come in handy. I've been going to the gym lately and I have been doing a fair amount of cardio and weight training. Weight training I'm use too and have never had a problem, but cardio is a different thing. I use to slack off on cardio because exercise use to severely induce my asthma... but now that I am in better shape I find that it doesn't affect me as much. What I have found though is I absolutely hate my downstairs shifting around a lot during cardio. So now I wear a thong that keeps everything securely in place and I have to say I find it much more comfortable. I was never a fan of jock straps, so this is a nice alternative for me. Over the last two years I went from needing a size 42 jeans to size 36 being loose on me… so I’m pleased with myself thus far :)

I've started wearing only a thong lately when I go down to my weight room to workout.  Having no restrictions on any lifting motions is great.  I also like being able to see the various muscle groups that I'm targeting in the mirror.  Feeling the "burn" while sweating and wearing only a thong is awesome.  When I start to get a little overheated, I'll either walk outside and stroll around the yard for a few minutes and/or take a dip in the pool.
