Re:Thongs for sports and exercise activities

My new running routine seems to be that I now strip down to my thong as soon as I get off the road.
I went for a 7 mile run late this afternoon. It's pleasantly warm for the time of year here and today has been quite nice.I set off from home wearing a slim fit lycra "rash vest" and a tiny black lycra shorts over my yellow JS Mini Cheek. Once I got onto the promenade I peeled off the shorts and continued my run. It was still fairly light and there were quite a lot of people around.
It feels very liberating I can tell you!
People who were heading towards me were mesmerised by the brief yellow frontage of my suit. I heard a few comments from them as they turned to check me out but couldn't make them out clearly. As I overtook people going the same way as me they got a good view!
There were a few giggles and some animated conversation but no negative responses.Feeling very brave I decided to leave the shorts off as I joined the more public route along the sea front road in the town centre. Many more people and although it was now dusk it was brightly lit.I was turning many heads by now and started to consider keeping the shorts off when I ran through the town centre. In the end I put them back on.
Maybe next time. Then I'll be well on the way to simply leaving the shorts at home :-)Probably best to warn the wife first in case I get recognised.

This is getting to be an obsession now :-)
I'm really enjoying the opportunity to do some public thonging in my home town and it's not even summery weather!

This morning I got up early (for a Sunday) having decided it would be a good time to go for the whole run without shorts over the JS Mini Cheek.I put on the Mini Cheek then the nice tight lycra rash vest. Then for some reason I decided to wear a JS Cheeky Boxer over the top to start with. The idea was to just get round the corner then loose the extra coverage.

When I set off I realised that the Cheeky Boxer rides up a bit and gives a bit less than half coverage at the back :)  I was already getting looks running along the road showing that much cheek. The Mini Cheek is just like a wide waisted thong and, on me, covers no more than a moderate thong on the back and very little up front.. So I didn't strip down until getting on the promenade again. Slightly disappointed at loosing my bottle!

As on my last run I kept off the extra coverage even when back on the busy road but still covered up a bit for running through the town centre. I wish I hadn't bothered. It was fairly quiet as many shops were still closed. I got to see my reflection in the shop windows and realised I really wasn't covering much anyway!

So I've promised myself that next time it's the Mini Cheek only right from the start or I don't go running!

I started wearing thongs under my gym clothes specifically to work out. It made weights, cardio and running so much more comfortable. Now I wear them all the time.

When working out at home I usually have shorts on over my thong but when I do yoga it's easier to strip down to just a thong. those twists and poses are tough with a shirt and shorts on, and the thong keeps my guys in place so it's just perfect.

I swam in a thong at the beach in Mexico. Might get brave and try and do some outdoor thonging around my hometown this summer. There's a lake nearby where I could pull it off.

I have recently transitioned from wearing boxerbriefs to wearing thongs under my workout clothes (even on squat and deadlift days).  Actually...once I got used to it, it is not a problem.

Went for my 1st surf in only a thong today for about 1.5hrs. Was quite a nice free feeling and it stayed on well when duck diving under the waves.
Didnt have anyone but dolphins to share the waves with.

The speedo thong is great for working out in. I have 8 of the last ones they made.

Wearing a thong under tights or tight shorts is a must.  When I'm active, there's far too much stretching of fabric for "everything" to stay in place.  A pouch becomes absolutely necessary for minimizing movement and maintaining comfort while running or lifting weights.
.
However, I never wear a thong under cycling shorts or my cycling skinsuits.  The material would dig in too much between myself and the seat, causing friction to my skin and possibly ruining the thong.  As well, when cycling, one's "personal best" doesn't move around too much, so displacement isn't an issue.
.
I couldn't see myself wearing only a thong at a gym unless it was a gym that allowed and encouraged it. I've never seen such a gym where I've lived.  Also it would only be practical for lifting weights.  Running without tights just isn't feasible - I'm in shape, but I wouldn't want my thighs rubbing together repeatedly for miles on a treadmill.

I've never run while wearing a thong, but I recently began to wear a thong under my shorts during my runs. I really enjoy the freedom of motion and extra air it allows me.

I wear long tights, short tights, or cycle shorts when I exercise (power walking, treadmill, or bicycle). I always wear a thong or g-string underneath. For me, it is very comfortable. I wear both underwear style thongs (cotton lycra) and swim style (spandex/lycra/nylon). I prefer the swim type usually. Now that the warm weather is here, I spend more time wearing spandex shorts. I also enjoy them as lounge wear.

All the pain we suffered in those "early" running days in the 70s and 80s wearing those addidas shorts and t-shirts. Coming back from a moderately long run with chafed thighs and nipples was NO fun!

Thank goodness for new fun, functional, and maybe...sensual stuff to run long in. Those 3 pair of traditional "marathon shorts" are not getting a lot of wear anymore, and hang in the closet, so very lonely. Now, the only stuff I'll wear are shorter, longer, medium length tights, some more compressing than others.

After reading the rave reviews of the virtues of Lululemon, I finally caved in a few months ago and bought my first pair of running-specific Lululemon capri-length tights
http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/women-crops/Run-A-Marathon-Crop?cc=6877&skuId=3449541&catId=women-crops.

Thankfully, I got them at an outlet store so I saved a few $$. Amazing product, great compression, and a very forgiving/flattering look - they seem to come even more "alive" with a medium to firm fitting thong underneath.

I have recenty started going to the gym almost every day. I started wearing my compression shorts under my gym shorts but found that there was no support and they were just uncomfortable the entire time. I then tried wearing one of my N2N cotton thongs and loved it. I have converted completely. It was a shock for some of the guys in the lockerroom the first time I changed and they saw my thong for the first time.

Truly believe for men wearing thongs for support for there exercise is a no-brainer.
If you think about it seeing many bush men wearing in hot continents in jungles wear thong type attire. Ask why and many will answer it's really made for men as support and keep your package out of the way. Makes to much sense that thong is the only support male needs in hot weather or activities they do. Only reason men scoff at the idea to wear a thong is woman have been accepted as female type underwear. Men laugh thinking before they ever try a thong that it will be uncomfortable and ride up there ass tickling them constantly. Or that they need more room or space for there package to breath. While in fact it is far better to keep your package bunched in stretchy nylon spandex material housed for better body control. Sort of like a big breasted woman never wearing a bra trying to run or do athletic activity. How good would that workout ladies?

I would never lift without some sort of support.   I dont wear compression pants to work out in.  I wear Mixed martial arts shorts with a papi thong under them.  It works great for me!!

I am a huge fan of Lululemon, their tops are the best especially the No Limits, Run for Your Money and Power Y Back. I also get the instructor's discount which is a bonus. The cropped length tights are also pretty nice, but I don't think they provide enough support to reduce muscle vibration.

Lululemon also makes the only underwear that I'll wear when exercising. Unfortunately they are in the process of discontinuing the style, which means a drive up to the store in Robina to buy enough pairs to last for a while.

Hi Sybok

My favorite style is the technithong. They are good for everything except running. Also don't plan on getting anything more than 30 washes, they'll quickly fall apart in the wash, other than that, super comfortable and very flattering.

That's something shocking coming from a company like Lululemon. They're known for making very high quality products.

Don't get me wrong, the Lululemon products that I have purchased have all been top notch. I feel that the trade-off for quality fit and styling is worth the trade-off for endurance. 30 washes is about standard these days.

What is the best thong(s) for exercising for men?? I have the under armour active but they don't make that anymore and am looking to get some new ones... Also if you can specify if it runs big or small on size would be great thanks.. I don't know if there's a forum for this...

I find it hard now not to wear thongs whilst exercising. I played for a short while in a (very, very poor) Sunday League side before I moved to uni and after 90+ minutes of constant running about I was very uncomfortable, even wearing tight boxers that I had bought especially for support. I switched to a thong and was able to actually concentrate on the game rather than having to rearrange myself every two minutes... Play 5-a-side now and thong still; so much more comfortable than before.

I have recently decided to get back into shape after 2 years of working & setting up the family in a new country. I wear only my thong doing weights & exercises at home & when I go out for a run ( only 5k to start with) I go to a local forest & run the tracks in a thong bodysuit. No shorts as I find even running shorts give me a rash in warmer weather.
Had afew people see me. I go near opening & closing time. No comments from anyone which is good.

A better replay would be if you had worn only a thong or G-string to workout in. nothing else. I have rollerbladed, rode a bike in only a g-string, nothing else

Hi osceeola89
When I work out at home ( in only a thong as mentioned, DORE 2 &3/4'' micro's) I have  countlesly times had the neighbour  hang out her washing and see me in mid excersise. Not wanting to be interupted from my work out & conveniantly sunning at the same time I just carry on like there is no one there.
I have had no comments from her or her husband  (which I talk to occassionly when I see him)
I also enjoy sitting outside under the patio early mornings for breakfast and have also been seen once again with no comment.
Maybe slightly off topic  but got to get fit sumwhere.

I'm a tennis player. Since the beginning I've worn thong underwear at the court. Because of the nature of the game it's not a good idea to play in just your undies, the risk of injury being high. So I wear shorts & t shirt. Wearing anything other than a thong bunches up after running around for five minutes + sweating makes it very uncomfortable. Also 90% of women playing wear thongs with their outfits as well, so it was only natural for me to follow suit.

I recently completed a trip to the desert southwest (USA) and hiked several National Parks. I was hiking 10 to 14 miles a day with significant elevation gains (1500+ feet) each of the 9 days I was out there. I could not imagine wearing anything other than a thong under my shorts. It seemed like the perfect undergarment for hot weather hiking. I wore iKingsky thongs every day. They stayed in place, were extremely comfortable and I never had to adjust them. The real key for me was having underwear that didn’t ball up, bunch up and kept me relatively cool.

Hi everyone, looking for a modern take on wearing thongs/gstrings for intense workouts/sport. I’ve found that certain thongs lend themselves better to certain sports. I recently played padel tennis and wore a cotton thong that had a big pouch and found this not necessary uncomfortable but a bit off putting. As I moved around and lunged for shots I could feel a sag and sway in the pouch which was really annoying. The thong was string sides but cotton front and rear and it also became extremely wet with sweat which again wasn’t the most comfortable. The next time I played I switched to a teamm8 flaunt micro thong which felt miles better with support and functionality but this did ride a little high at the back and tease the occasional whale tail. When working out I’ve found thongs top g-strings as performing crunches and ab exercises the gstring tends to rub but thong doesn’t and also moisture wicking is a must

I work out 3 or 4 days a week, do 30 minutes arerobic then weights. Almost always with a g string under my shorts. Would love to be able to eliminate shorts!
