Hey guys I've read a lot of topics about thongs on nude beaches etc. but I was just wondering if any of you guys had worn your underwear thongs/g-strings to the beach.I ask this as a number of times when on holidays or here I've worn my undies to the beach. The main reason for this being that I've gone out somewhere and instead of going home or to the hotel room to change I've just stripped down to my ordinary undies to save time etc.I'm just wondering if any of you lot have done this and if so have you gotten any particular reaction from it?Luv Sarah xxx

I've worn underwear bikinis and thongs/g-strings on the beach many times, even a tiny little pouch thong from Undergear.   If you think about it, some of these provide more coverage than revealing swimwear.  I just wear whichever ones are comfortable.

Actually, as far as being see through when wet, it's usually the swimwear that become see-through, not the underwear.

I have worn Jockey Elance String Bikini underwear to the beach...only my wife and i were there to see them, though. I have also worn Premio thong underwear to the beach in a more public setting. I wore them because, at the time, I didn't own any thong swimwear.

I've worn my Jockey "No Panty Line Promise" hot pink womens thong to the beach on several occasions.  Works great as a suit.

My favorite is Barely There woman's thong underwear. I've posted someplace else that although it doesn't have a pouch the material is stretchy enough that it covers everything. The cut is lowrise, about 1.5 to 2 inch sides, a more conservative cut. It clings well to the body and it is not visibly transparent when wet. It is nearly impossible to tell the difference between it and swimwear. As such I've begun to use it as underwear and swimwear. (In black only).
Reactions? I dunno. The same. As said earlier, some swimwear, like Dore's, are more radical in cut and color. I suspect that I may get more questionable reactions if the thong was more visibly underwear such as the "Calvin Klein" written on the waistband.

I've worn my navy HOM Fredy string at the beach because it offers decent coverage, doesn't cling and reveal shape when wet, nor become see-thru, and is comfy and sharp looking.  Same with my white JM Skinz microfiber thong.  Being double layered, it also does not become see-thru when wet.  As it offers a little more coverage, even while presenting a bold, rounded package, it also works fine for running along the water's edge, giving very good support.

I've worn my jockey N2N thong on the beach, with the waistband folded in half on the inside, thinking about it now I could have just worn it low but I wanted to match the faint tanlines I had earlier this spring on vacation.

I've several times worn thong underwear on the beach. This has mostly been if i were near a beach and decided to catch some sun or just take a break. Or if I've been taking a stroll and the weather's suddenly brightened. I've never been in the water under these conditions though, just the thought of the cotton taking a zillion to dry... brr

I've worn a black HOM Fredy on some of Cornwalls beaches recently and felt totally comfortable. Not much different from normal swimwear unless you're looking up at close quarters. I've also used an HOM Fredy to jof in at a naturist resort to give me some support whilst running as to do so nude was pretty uncomfortable. Keep on thonging

I also have several thong underwear but only a couple thong swimsuits. Many times when I go to the beach wearing a thong, it is either cotton or nylon thong underwear, but no one ever the knows the difference from a distance.

Hey guys some good answers but the I suppose another  point/question I was making/asking was does anyone care if people do actually realise that you have teh underwear on? I noticed a couple of you have said that you wear HOM Fredy's on the beach that look like swimwear but another couple of people have said that "as long as no one sees the waist band on Calvin Klein thongs".

Have any of you worn thong underwear to the beach that can be seen as blatant underwear?

Perhaps its different for guys though as your underwear mostly does look like it could be swimwear where as us girls have different materials for underwear e.g. lace etc.

Just thinking.....

I wouldn't care but I wouldn't go out of my way to wear something to the beach that it's clearly underwear. I have seen a couple of times every summer children and grown ups playing in the surf in "tighty-whities", bras and stardard granny style women panties. I think it and I think others think it as well as unusual and even comic. No one I think takes offense or thinks much of it at all. But then again I live in California and in Venice beach in particular so my opinions and those of them who visit us may be somewhat different than those from folks in Peoria.

Actually, I think women can get away with it just as easy as men. Women's thongs come in all colors and cloth types. For me, I can tell underwear from swimwear (usually). Wouldn't care to see someone in underwear on the beach, but I wouldn't say anything if I did.

Hey Sarah, I've worn  WW 611 knickers loads of times. They look really 'bikinish' and tiny enough to be a head turner (though not quite as small as a microminimus) and a lot cheaper that WW's bikinis. I've swum in them too and it seems to have put up with that fine.  Reactions I'd say were no different to that when wearing an equivalent size thong, also I guess the more feminine lacy styles would look more like underwear. Some of the 611's are see through too - which is a bit of an extra giggle

If I have worn underwear to the beach the only concern I have had is if the name is showing at the waistband.  That problem is quickly resolved, just roll the waist band down one or two turns.  It eliminates the lettering and gives me a trimmer suit.

One day I had a couple of hours free of work and decided to go to the beach. I had no swim suit and decided to stay with my thong. Actually I went to that part of the beach where there are not many people. Another day after work /I worked as a guide/ I went to a lonely beach far from the resort. I was with my underwear cotton thong. I think you can wear on the beach what you wand. I personally prefer to be naked, because I do not like the tan lines.

I don't really think it makes any difference wether the thong or whatever is underwear or swimwear, one could easily be used as the other. so, i just wear thong underwear as swimwear as well.

I've stopped by the beach on my way home from work or the gym and have laid out in just a cotton or mesh thong/g-string, cotton or nylon underwear, all of which are smaller than my usual swim thongs.

I try to find a more private spot on the beach when I do this so as not to offend.

I wear a Body by Victoria bikini to the beach frequently. I like it much better than my speedo.  I also let the Body by Victoria thong double as a swimsuit on the thong friendly beaches.  So far, I am not sure anyone noticed it was actually underwear.

Monday (July 25) I wore a fuchsia colored womens Jockey micro-fiber "No panty line promise" thong panty on the beach all afternoon at Kelly (Kelley) Point park in Portland Oregon.

This is the panty with transparent 1/16 inch wide horizontal lines spaced about every 1/2 inch.  I did a lot of walking and there was no bad comments.  Just a lot of "hellos".

What is it with guys wearing women thong underwear. I know they're cheaper, but give me a break. Something has got to be hanging out. You know, if one little pube is seen by someone who feels like reporting you, that only convinces the authority the ban thongs and that spoils it for the rest of us. Please buy male thongs and keep the unit covered.

By the way, I have more swimwear thongs than underwear thongs so there is little need to wear thong underwear to the beach.

I do have that iwas thonging once, and  a hot looking guy stripped down to his tighty whities to tan. That was a proud day for me.

"Barely There" ...I'm tellin' ya, don't knock 'em 'till you try them.... promise, nothing shows but bum (4-way strech micro fiber) Besides, what exactly is the difference between male and female thongs anyway?! (not g-strings!) especially if you compare the almost non-existing pouch there is in the CK microfiber thong that does not cling as well and there is a little peekaboo going on to the aforementioned Barely There brand?
Loose weight, tighten up those abs, drink plenty of water and trim everything close and I can promise that no one will complain about underwear on the beach!

It was a cloudy day today so I had no plans of going to the beach until the sun came out at about 2PM(You gotta love the weatherman). I had on a Tactics thong with the v-back, but I said what the hey. Hardly anyone was at the beach except for some walkers. I stripped down to my cotton thong and had a great time. It is more exhilirating lying out in a cotton thong. I even went in the water. It was great. I'm going to have to try that again this year.

I have worn what might have been marketed as underwear to the beach at times. The Mini Sumo Delux by Parr of Arizonia comes to mind. That was "deluxe underwear" that had the side straps wrapped in the same color cloth as the body of the suit.

I think that wearing underwear with bare elastic straps looks tacky at the beach. And wear jock straps as a sexual connotation that could backfire on us at thong friendly beaches. If you do wear underwear to the beach, it should not LOOK like underwear.

I've tried sunbaking in a Target microfibre g-string at South Melbourne beach. I like the feel and fit and the Y back string. I've never tried using it in the water as I'm not sure what the effect will be. I've also seen other men in Hom Freddy String sunning on the beach.

Hi guys, I had a "sighting" last weekend. I was on the beach with my mates for the day and a couple (in their 30's) came down and say about 100m away from us, it just looked as though they hadn't planned on going to the beach but just gone out for the day and decided the weather was ok enough to go to the beach. They sat there for a while and then eventually the woman took her dress off and lay it on the ground and lay on it to sunbathe. She was just wearing a lacey thong and bra but didn't care who saw. About 10 minutes later the guy joined her and lay there in a pair of CK (or similar style with lettered waistband) boxer shorts. They stayed for about 20 minutes and then left.

I have several pairs of Olaf Benz UW thongs that would very easily pass as swimwear and they would be my first choice to wear to the beach over swim thongs.  Alot of swimwear thongs are unlined so I don't see much difference between those and UW thongs.

Last year, I wore a red mesh Manstore g-string with side snaps during a trip to Fort DeSoto.  It was smaller than the swim thongs that I packed and I wanted to wear the least possible amount of clothing short of being naked. It was somewhat see thru when wet but since there were guys on the beach naked, I didn't see that I was showing more than the others.

Several years back I was at a beach resort where many women were sunning topless. In the course of the week I saw several, mostly older and out-of-shape women laying out in just their underwear (no bra). They were all lacey whites that were obviously not swimwear, but no one seemed to care. I finally decided they didn't own any bikinis and after seeing so many of the younger women topless, figured this was the only way to join in the fun. More power to them!

As fo myself, I have also worn underware on the beach in the days before I owned a thong. Most bikini underwear is easy to adjust the back so you can vary the coverage anywhere from normal to almost as good as a thong. This can be very convenient. Curiously, the only time I ever got a bad reaction was from a group of thongers who were real uptight that I was going at it "differently" from them. Even though I was more covered than they were, they gave me all this bull about not being covered appropriately, etc.  They were the most uptight bunch I have ever met.  Go figure.

I've worn thong underwear to the beach, but change into a swim thong when i get "dressed for the beach". My gf tends to wear her thong bikinis to and from the beach with a skirt over the top.

Thinking of getting her a new Malibu stings one soon. Anyone got one?

This past weekend, I wore Ergowear thong underwear all day at the beach as a swimsuit. The style and fabric is similiar to their swimwear, just a bit thinner. It felt great in the sun and water.

I have worn a prevail sport lime colored mesh thong as a swimsuit.  My wife once wore one of her g-string panties on the beach in south beach when the airline misplaced our luggage and we had to wait for them to deliver it.  I have seen lots of women do it at sandy hook.  Actually, it is kind of sexy if they just strip off their normal clothes and lie out in the underwear they had underneath.  I saw a women do it once in a front close bra and matching thong....it was very sexy

Re:Underwear on the beach

Not to digress too far, but what I find interesting is the number of people that absolutely will not consider wearing underwear on the beach.  Many times I have observed people that came to the beach fully clothed, perhaps only intending to take a walk or whatever.  Often I will watch them wading into the water, attempting to roll up their pant legs, or if they have shorts on, being ever so careful not to got in far enough to get the shorts wet.  Occasionally I have overheard somebody say to the friend; "I wish I had brought my suit".  Yet they almost never do what seems obvious (to me, at least), which is to simply take their pants and shirt off and wade on in.  Underwear usually dries very quickly in the sun, so no change is necessary.  Now many of these people are in groups, so I suppose the "group mentality" plays a big role here, but it still seems strange.
  Any comments or similar obervations?

I find this a somewhat strange topic because I generally wear swimsuits as underwear! I have no problem at a beach taking off my jeans or shorts, because I have a HE Swimwear suit on underneath. It's skimpy, but if anyone complains, I can say I'm in my underwear, and if anyone compliments me, I can say it's my favorite swimsuit. I don't like wearing underwear that really LOOKS like underwear for this reason.

We live in Phoenix where the Summers are hot.  Fortunately we have a pool in our back yard. My wife and I often swim in our underwear after we come home from work. She has a great collection of sexy thongs and bikini panties and several matching bra and bikini sets. She used to do it once in a while because she new it turned me on, but she has gotten so used to it that she now wears her panties more often than her bathing suits. This really turns me on!  Even when I'm not home she will swim in her underwear.  She says it's fun to do and it makes her feel sexy.  Once on vacation in Rocky Point (Mexico) we were walking down a relatively deserted beach and we decided to go for a swim. She took off her clothes and was wearing a white bra and blue bikini panties. I was wearing a bikini style brief, but I don’t remember the brand. Another time in Cancun she swam in the ocean wearing a yellow bra and thong set.   What she didn’t realize is that the yellow material would become see thru when wet. It didn’t bother her too much as we have been to nude resorts in the past. We had a good time playing around and a lot of people were watching us.

I only have underware thongs right now. And yes I wear them to swim in. Unless they are really loose, you can't really tell whether it's underware or swimwear. And What's the difference really? I know most men will swim in thier underware any ways if the option to swim comes up. Womens "underware" is more obvious when usede as swim wear sometimes, but not always. But what's the big deal anyway?
and I think I would be more comfortable in underware than stiff swimware.

This is one girl who would never wear her underwear on a beach.  I guess it's because most of my panties are lacy, see thru, silky, etc, but feel like people would know I was wearing underwear.  I would be totally self concious.  My panties are for me to feel sexy and occassionally turn on the opposite sex (when he is deserving).

Some guys "underwear" really is just that.  Cotton does not excel.   However, Joe Snyders are great - for a while - as both swimwear and underwear.  The ulitmate in versatility.  However, there is one caveat - chlorine kills them.  I like to swim laps in the Joes - they are small, flattering, tight and fast.  However, the fabric gets eroded and it loses its density.  That results in a bit of a show for some who happen to be looking when I get out of the pool.  Those pairs are transferred to underwear.

I regularly wear a Kiniki "Scales" g-string to the beach - it is so light it is like being naked. Also wear "Slinky" thong (see-through); "Gigolo", "Sling", "Tonga" g-strings and "Swinger" pouch but but need to take care to repostition "Swinger" when exiting the water since it is has no understrap.
I buy most of my underwear from www.kiniki.com.
I do have some swimwear - "Lloyd", "St, Tropez" and "Troy" bought some years ago but prefer the lightwear g-strings above for that nude feel

I have worn underwear at the beach or at motel/hotel pools more than once.  If I want something shear or lacy, underwear is the perfect (and cheap) answer for a woman.  Randy has several thongs which technically are underwear that he also wears.  He has several 100% cotton "suits" which change color dramatically when first soaked, without being too suggestive.  He also has some partial or full mesh suits which show off a lot more all the time.  Most anything from Male Power he considers potential beach wear.  He also has a few 100% silk thongs in thin white, and also some silk short-short boxers.  These have the amazing ability to dry in a minute or two, but to go from 100% coverage to some of the most see-thru when wet "suits" he has, then back again to not objectionable in a minute or two.  He looks at the labels and web sites when ordering, anything that is 100% synthetic he treats like swimwear and doesn't hesitate to wear into the water.

I have done so.though the cotton underwear is sometimes a bit scratchy when wet.
I have found often the "swimwear" seem to give more of the "gay" impression than the underwear, which comes across more masculine.don't know if it's the cut, the quieter colours, or what......
and of course it means i didn't need to plan ahead :)
