Last week I visited a public pool in Amsterdam which is supposed to be thonger friendly. I wore my CM 102 camo g-string. Walked around, swam, walked again, showered, no problems at all, in fact no reactions as far as I noticed at least.When I was collecting my stuff from the locker a young employee came to me and asked me if I considered my attire normal. Not waiting for an answer he carried on. Well, they certainly did not consider it normal and he asked me to wear something that would cover my butt next time. This was all in a very friendly manner. I'll see what I do.

When I was done working out, I went to the locker room and removed my compression shorts and went out to the pool. Normally, it is quiet on Saturdays but that day it seemed like a week day. I wanted to swim laps but the pool was full so I went to the hot tub. I felt a little uncomfortable being in a thong when everyone else was in dork shorts. I always wear a rio but only once before wore a thong to swim laps. They are probably the best suit for swimming and stay in place well. LA fitness does not have a dress code and no one has said anything so far. I wish more people swam in thongs to make it more acceptable.

With all the years I worn the above swimwear only twice I got complained upon. Wearing my AC black thong caused an gym employee to ask I put on more because a woman felt uncomfortable seeing me wear it. Last complaint wasn't sure who did it but it must of been from many people. The manager found me in the whirlpool wanted to talk privately which I knew immediately the reason. She told me to wear more when I use the pool. Think it was because of my dore bulge thong I wore a couple times at the pool. |

There I wear a Coxsocks bikini or an N2N Enhance or Maverik suit. All are pouch enhanced for room and comfort. I have never had anyone say anything about my suits other than how much they like them. I have even worn Brazilian and Rio cut suits with no comment. But given it is a county recreation facility I know not to push the cheek exposure to far as they are not very accepting of that. So no thongs for the gym pool. When I travel and I am at pools it will at most be a Rio cut suit and smaller. I have only had good responces when I travel. Next place for me will be when I visit Phoenix.

Waiting for a Muscleskins Rio to come in so I can give it a shot but my gym does have a no thong rule, so I guess I'll see how it fits when I get it. Otherwise a Cocksox bikini is always fitting.

The pools I have been to in Taipei have (so far) said nothing about my bikini briefs - VERY low front, four or five inch wide back that barely cover me. Unless they say no, I plan to keep doing it. If thongs were legal at pools I would wear them, even if I go with people I know. The fun is the "whoops, I didn't notice" moments. Sometimes the suit moves when I get out of a pool, or I intentionally adjust it myself underwater. The back ends up two inches wide, other times it's between the cheeks leaving me fully exposed. I re-adjust it eventually, but I pretend not to be aware for a while. I haven't heard a word yet. |

I usually swim laps then go in the hot tub. Usually on a Saturday afternoon when not too many people around. The only thing with LA fitness is that you are surrounded by glass but no negative comments.

It is not anymore a big deal when i go to my usual swimming pool, because the lifeguards, the staff and the others swimmers are used to see me. So, nobody says anything. Two weeks ago, whereas i finished my training and i was going out the water, one of the lifeguard came toward me, for speaking about... the training...
But, last week, i was on holiday at 400 miles from my home, in an other town and so an other swimming pool.
It is still a new challenge when i change the swimming pool, because i don't know how open minded they are.
So, i came out the changing room and went directly to do my swimming laps. The lifeguards didn't notice me because i was far from them and they saw only my front face.
About 10 minutes i was swimming, i saw that one of the lifeguards had noticed me. He came at the end of the lane, he was standing. I understood immediately that he was checking my swimsuit.
I didn't stop to swim. The next lap, i noticed that he was come back to his chair. I understood that my swimwear had succeeded the cheeking.
So, the other times, i was totally confident.
The others swimmers were not used to see a so cheeky swimwear on a man. it was very funny to see them watching me. When my eyes met their eyes, they were pretending to look elsewhere.
I like to change of the swimming pools some times, because it is still a new challenge each time.
Otherwise, i can also wear a more skimpy swimwear in my swimming pools, but as it yet almost a thong, the next step is maye be the thong.

Had the inclination to wear small tiny bikini bottom on few evening swims at the public pool testing the waters so to speak. Pool i went to was one i frequent during summer months in my youth.
Thought early evening there maybe less children and parents that get angry at my thong swimsuit.
Once wearing my AQUX bikini swimsuit had way to many eyes on me. Glad i didn't thong that day or many further visits.
Lifeguards were all female staff except one male. The lurking eyes and reactions were too all to obvious from the lifeguards and some woman visitors. Felt slightly uncomfortable yet knew the stares were compliment.
Thought if i wore a thong i would get more reaction attention then i should. For that reason keep thongs to gym pool less people eyes and the beach where vibe is carefree.
Most public pools have male lifeguards for the most part. Observing some reactions to my skimpy swimsuit feel i was drowning they would look away.
Also know some co-worker frequents the same pool i consider going meeting him seeing me in a thong might make things uncomfortable at work.

The first real experience of wearing a little less at a public pool was at my apartment. When there were tons of people I would just keep my shorts on. If I was with a few others that were minding their own business I could wear a speedo/bikini. I’d say most of the time that was the case. Every now and then I’d have the whole pool to myself or one or two others and that’s when I would wear my thong. I actually found that it didn’t seem to bother the few that were there so I’d get alittle brave and actually walk to and from the pool with no cover. I’ve been to a few casino hotel pools and found that thonging is kinda hard to pull off for a guy. I’ve done it before but that was because it was early and only a handful of people were at the pool and the staff never had a problem that I noticed. We were also kind of spread out so nobody really noticed. As more came in I usually switch to a speedo/bikini and that has seemed to be ok with a packed pool. Of course the younger teenage groups that come in sometimes snicker at a speedo but it’s not that bad. For my gym pool I don’t wear anything other than thongs and speedo/bikinis. I’m somewhat lucky that our pool doesn’t have lifeguards and I’m usually around other swimmers or swim teams so a speedo isn’t out of the ordinary. About a couple months ago I’ve started wearing some thongs to do my laps and suprisingly no body has had any negative reaction. I used to wear my towel to the pool and kinda slip in quickly so they would see the thong but I’ve gotten over that and just strip down to my thong at the bench and just walk to the water with people on both sides of me. I think it helps I’m wearing a desmiit thong with drawstrings because it looks very conservative until you turn around and see it’s a thong. The resorts ive been to out of the country are so accepting of speedos/bikinis and even thongs at the pool. Nobody bats an eye . Again depending on who is around you.. |

If in doubt take everything as a complement.
It helps if you also introduce yourself by name. That way when someone mentions you to the person you met they will say "Oh that's James." Later the third person, now knowing your name, might feel bold enough to introduce themselves too.
In other news, you can totally disarm someone making a sarcastic or negative comment by simply smiling and saying 'Thank You'.
Take everything in your stride and take all comments as a complement, even if it was not meant to be.
Your thanks and smile will reward complementary people, but confuse and defuse the negative. |

This year, I have stopped bringing my Speedos , and now I just go to my regular pool in a swim thong. So far, the lifeguards and other swimmers haven't said anything. |
Please cutback on starting new threads. Post replies to to existing threads on the subject.
If you want to cut and paste from your word processor do not do it directly.
