Any ideas on shops to buy G-string in Singapore ? I have been to large departmental stores, plenty thongs, but not G-strings.

Not sure if they have them, but have you tried New Urban Male?

Also, if you make it over to Hong Kong, you can buy g-string swimwear at Le Male. You can check my website under the "links to other sites" or click on the "home" icon in the message header, then scan down for the address.

Also, Hom shops should have the three current styles of g-string swimwear: Podium, Massai and Vegas.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check out NUM, but from their online store they look more like a t-shirt seller.

Hong Kong is on my plan next year, after Disneyland opens.

Don't know about shops in singapore but we seem to be shipping to there more and more often.
Looks like thongs there are gaining in popularity (either that or they have always been and i've just not noticed)

Jox has now changed name to Sportsmenasia and they've moved from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor with bigger space. They have a sale on at the moment. Yesterday I bought a Joe Synder bikini for S$29.90 with about 20% off. There's a lot of styles at the moment and it's cheaper than buying online from Joe Synder's website.

I'm wondering if anyone knows where to get a thong or string bikini for women in singapore? Thanks!

www.ebay.com.sg - ebay singapore.

No disrespect intended to anyone posting inquiries about where to buy when visiting various places... But these days, buying online from anywhere to anywhere seems to make the most sense.  Spending time locating a shop that may or may not be there/have them/have what you want in your size is too much hassle.

For my part, I order even the stuff I can buy at a specialty shop a few blocks away online.  Prices and selection are far better.

I bought some Skinxwear thongs in OG on Orchard Road this afternoon. Was a little nervous about going up to the cashier with only 3 little boxes, but I have to say the older lady behind the till didn't even register. She simply checked that I was sure I had the right size and got on with taking payment. I got a little anxious when she started taking them out of the packet - I was thinking "hold on, what's going on here?" - I had visions of her holding up the thongs in front of the other lady waiting in the queue.... But it was fine - she just needed to get enough out to take the security tags off. She was very discreet, and I was very impressed with the service. I would definitely go and buy more thongs at OG again.

Hmm, if it's Singapore, I usually bought mine from Metro and OG. Bought a couple from Sportsmenasia.

But what I noticed that the waistband are rather big ones. I prefer those with "string bands", similar to HOM plume string.

I went back to OG at the weekend to get some more Skinxwear thongs to take on holiday next month, as they are extremely comfortable and I wanted to try the Y-back thong and the string version. I was buying some other clothing too, so after the 'auntie' had helped me sort that and put that to one side, I went over to the underwear section. I roughly knew what I wanted, what colours and so forth, so started reaching over the top of the top shelf to get the XL size that I knew I needed. Then I realised that TWO of the older female shop assistants were pulling all of the boxes of thongs out from the cupboards in the bottom of one of the island displays. Before I knew it they had loads stacked up in all sorts of colours and sizes, and now there were more customers about looking to see what was being brought out! But actually I didn't care - I was having too much fun seeing what colours and style they had hidden away in the cupboards. I found out afterwards that they are on commission now in OG, which explains them being so keen to help, and is also is why they all fight to get their little ID sticker put on any of the goods that they help you to buy. I really don't think either of them gave a hoot that they were helping a guy buy thongs though. Service at the cashier was a little less discreet than last time, but all in all really can't fault OG for buying thongs.

There isn't much thongs being sold in Singapore, physically. The local departmental stores carries Skinxwear as the predominant thong brand. If you guys have been to any nice little men's thong shop, do share with everyone here. =)

Does anyone know where to buy thongs in Singapore? Previously the main departmental stores in Orchard Road would stock a good selection but they all seem to have stopped stocking thongs on their shelves altogether. I see there are some online stockists but this is not very convenient for someone visiting the city on a tight timetable. Thanks

Shop in Orchard Road is way outdated! Besides Orchard Road, there are lots of places in Singapore! OG, CK@Bugis+, Mustafa & etc. Tons of them with all kind of brands. Pay for GST, time of travel, no discount.... Wasting money. Nowadays, people (locals) shop online using, Facebook Marketplace (Singapore), TaoBao and Singapore Carousell. Value for money and some comes with free postage/delivery.

I am going to be in Singapore for one day on my way to Europe early next year. Do Tangs still stock thongs? I remember buying some skinxwear thongs there about 10 years ago. They were great thongs. If not, anyone knows where to find Skinxwear thongs in Singapore?

I have the same question. I'll be visiting Singapore next month for a brief visit and I'd like to check out their thong selection or underwear selection in general.

I was in Tangs today. Very disappointed with the entire menswear section and absolutely no sign of any thongs whatsoever on their shelves. Skinzwear stand in tangs was full of Renoma briefs and boxer briefs which seems the norm here. Still looking around but not had much luck so far. Seems like online is the only way to get what you want. I’m open to correction from local here but that’s my tourist experience.

That’s so disappointing. They used to have a good collection of thongs (skinxwear
and hom).

I agree. Was at the shops again today here and still could not find anything smaller than a brief or boxer brief in the various underwear departments of the shopping centres. You may have to look at some smaller shops or do some research as to where else to find anything.

Re:Where to buy in Singapore?

Most department stores in SG no longer carry thongs ever since Skinxwear stopped producing them. Nowadays, I could only find thongs at Isetan at Shaw House (across from Tang's). Tang's is being renovated right now so I hope they'll start stocking thongs again. But in the meanwhile, I've been buying thongs at this local store called MaleHQ at the Orchard Towers. Apparently, they were the stockists for the thongs at Tang's and Isetan.
