Nothing so daring for me.  Occassionally wife and i will walk to the parking lot from the nude beach at sandy hook in our thongs.  That is not common, but not radical either as 200 yards away are hundreds of nude people.  A year ago in south beach, we walked from the delano hotel up to 25th st (me in a joe snyder rio thong, her in a wicked weasel g-string) which felt kind of daring.   Wife has me beat, as last trip to sobe she walked from the delano down to south point (right past the busiest part of Lummus park ...on a weekend) in a wicked weasel 457 microminimus g-string bottom and matching 312 top.  The funniest thing we heard was some 50 something lady turn to her family and say "oh my....that has to be the skimpiest thing on this entire beach"  I dont know if it was true or not, but we did not see anything smaller that day.  

The most daring moment for me wearing only a g-string was at a swimsuit contest at a Jamaican resort. It was held in the resort's beach front open air dining room with about 250 people in the audience. The dress in the audience ranged from bathing suit cover-ups to street clothes. No one was as bare as I was. I did it on a lark, but I really felt naked once I got up on stage waiting to be interviewed. By there it was too late to back out.

The MC cracked up when he got me on stage and flash bulbs started goin off around the room. There are also several people running their video cameras. Once the deed was done, and there was nothing I could do about it, I was able to relax. And in the end I won a prize for "best fitting suit."

I've also gone to large costume parties wearing only a g-string with a cape to cover my butt. Once people found out what I had on a few women tried to get under my cape, but by in large I was no where near as bare than as I was at the contest in Jamaica.

My experience was wearing a g-string, tank top, and sandals while in Key West, FL.  The tank top covered most of my butt but not all of it.  It was during spring break but it wasn't all that crowded.  I walked from Simonton Court all over the place including the main drag.  Two people on a motorcycle drove by hooting and hollering.  It was a fun little adventure.

My thonging history consisted of clothing optional beaches or the discreet end of a beach. My most brave moment occured this past summer, I was staying at a downtown Indianapolis hotel and called ahead and was told thongs were ok at rooftop pool.  Somewhat surprised but figured what the hell, they said it was ok.  Changed into my HE thong and hit the pool, being a weekday I was the only one there.  After awhile I jumped in the pool to cool off and out comes a young guy in dork shorts, and a young couple.  There I am in the pool with several thoughts running thru my head, from hopefully they can see the red color of my suit and no I am not nude, too well how brave am I.  After 10 minutes or so, I climbed up the pool ladder and spent the next 3 hours in the sun.  There were no reactions and they seemed not to care.  It was more than a little exhilerating to say "so what" and climb out of the pool. 

  My bravest moment was about two years ago when I first thonged infront of anyone other than my wife. A neighbor of ours and her kids were over. I was finishing mowing the back yard while everyone was in the pool. The neighbor knew I wore thongs but hadnt "seen" me in them. My wife was telling me to get in, but I didnt want to go back into the house. So I said "aint nothin to it but to do it", took my shirt and cut off shorts off and got in. I went from very nervous to an exobitionist, cause after swimming we grilled on the patio. I didnt put anything on either, grilled ther infront of my family and hers with my cheeks bared for all to see. And then the same thing last summer with some other neighbors. We'll see who comes over this year.

I often walk from the beachside carpark over to the sand in just a thong, carrying just my towel and book or whatever. I've gone from the car to the water in just a thong, carrying just a surfboard under my arm plenty of times too.
I've also washed done my 4WD after being on the beach in a thong just covered by a long singlet that only just covers my butt. When my arms go up, you see about 1/3 of it. I've done that in just the thong a couple of times without the singlet, and also in a rio style Skins bikini.
The most brazen I've been was on one of those rediculously hot days, I got out of the car and went into a small roadside shop to buy a drink in just a thong, sunnies and cap. The lady behind the counter had a slightly quizzical look on her face, but said nothing.

I was on a business trip to Baltimore in the summertime and stayed at a hotel surrounded by high rise condos. They had an outdoor pool on a second floor deck. I wore a Dore g-string and started swimming laps. A little while later two couples came out and set up near to me and entered the pool. You could certainly see my bare ass while doing laps and then my small front was visible when I walked out of the pool and laid out on the lounge chair. A little while later one of the women complimented me on my swimwear and my bravery for wearing it in such a public location. She then pointed out a bunch of people on one of the condo balconies that were looking down on us. I just waved and laid back down on the lounge chair.

I had just been  down the local beach and i walked up to the surl life saving club(beach patrol tower in the US) in my thong and had a shower in plain view of everyone, about 100m from the beach

2 summers ago I spent an entire Saturday in mid July on the main beach in Ocean City MD is just my tiny thong.  I had checked it out before to determine that thongs were legal, and took the precaution of arrivving very early (7:30 AM).  But by mid morning the place was packed and I was jammed in right on top of almost everybody else.  Even though nobody else seemed to care too much, it was quite an experience being packed in among so many people.  Naturally I was the only one, male or female, wearing a thong, and every time I got up to go in the water I could hear camera's clicking everywhere. 

But it certainly was fun after I got over my initial hesitation.  By mid afternoon, I was even relaxed enough to nap a bit on the beach.  And the best was when three girls came up to me and wanted to take my picture.  This also caused quite a stir as they insisted we all go down by the water, and they took numerous pictures of me, usually with my arms around two of them, and in funny poses, etc.  All while everybody else on the beach was watching and laughing. 

By the end of the day I even got up the nerve to walk all the way back to the boradwalk and rinse off in the beach showers, as I had a long drive ahead.  Great fun, but it was certainly a bit scary at first.

Amen to that.  There is no way they would have taken any notice of me at all if I had been in board shorts.  Several years back at another park I was approached by two college age girls who said they thought I was "awesome" and also wanted pictures.    Of course that was a good time.  I would love an opportunity to go back to Ocean City, but my schedule has not worked so far.  Maybe this summer.

Years ago I went to the beach with a male friend from college and his girlfriend.  He knew that I usually went to a clothing optional beach in RI but that day we were at a quiet beach in CT.  When we got to the beach I had on a regular swim suit over my thong. It was too nice a day not to be in just a thong so within a few minutes of arrival I stripped off my swim suit and spent the rest of the day in my thong.  They were completely cool being with me in just a thong which made for a great day.

Back in the 1990s, I once visited Wet N Wild in Orlando and decided to wear a thong. Thoroughly enjoyed being out in the warm Florida sun and feeling the breeze. No other male thongers that day. There were several female thongers at the park that day. I would enjoy going there again. it was a little awkward walking by uniformed secuirty personnel while wearing nothing but a thong but no problem.

This is my next goal; to get to FL to go to Wet N Wild.  My schedule is a mess so I have no idea when I can pull it off.  When I read stories like mcdonald's I am very envious...

I attended a 'hot yoga' class a few times - it's 104 degrees in the room.  One other guy was only in a thong, so I pulled off my dork shorts and I too was in a thong.  The next time there was one female with us in a thong and a very brief halter on her.  i only had a 15 visit pass, but every time after that i wore a thong and it was great!!!

Kinda tame, but wife and I walked from South Point on miami's south beach up to the Fountainbleu and back. I was wearing a Joe Snyder yellow rio thong and she wear wearing a white wicked weasel 457 micromimimus g-string.  Highlight(s) of the walk;

a) for me...being asked by the foreman of a brazilian construction crew (who we had asked to take our picture) if I was a professional model
b) for wife...being stopped by a much older women and being told "oh my god...that is the skimpiest little thing I have ever seen, you must be so brave to wear it.  Although, I guess if I looked like you, I would wear it too"

bravest - Walking into a hotel lobby in my thong!!!!

Don't have much brave moments yet because last Holiday was the first time i wore a thong on the beach. Perhaps we can count that as a brave moment ;-) Did take me a little while after i did it to get a bit more accustomed to the whole idea, people weren't bothering me and my girl so that made it a lot easiere all toghetter.

Upcomming holiday wil be more thongs for me :-)

I would however try to wear them once to a pool, would count that as a brave moment for myself because i've never seen a thong at a pool myself only on pictures.

Wearing a thong at a men's only health club for me

  Putting on my thong in front of my outrigger buddies....  One of them came over to ask me after if it was comfortable.  I said yes.  He said that he has always been curious but never have the courage the try one on until he saw me wearing it in the locker room while changing.  At our next outrigger training, he came into the changing and took off his pants and was wearing a thong!  He turn over to me and smile and said that he loves it!  

 I think we have to be brave when we fear ridicule or negative comments.  I am not sure why we find negative comments about our person to be so cutting and fear them so much,  for we don't have the same fear if someone holds a diffrent political view or backs a diffrent sports team.

There have been lots of times when I have had to steel my nerve and force my self to hold my head high. It is good practice to push your self now and again and not shirk away from the opportunity.

I am totally comfortable wearing a thong anywhere on Fort Lauderdale beach, so long as it is not in any way transparent. It may get anoying if someone makes a rude comment but that does not make me embarrassed, and only if they are very rude does it make me annoyed.

There are however some times when waring a thong can be a bit embarrassing or uncomfortable.  For example when I was wearing a very small thong and stepped on a large bit of glass that sliced open my foot and required the lifeguards and medics to get involved and transport me. Or then having to go over and deal with policemen I do not know when I am only in a thong they are in full uniforms. (This was not about my thonging but about other events on the beach.)

Other than when thonging in front of family or friends who don't know I thong,  the bravest moment is probably when I found a wallet on the beach. 

I opened it and found it was for a student from Washington State, (on the other side of America) and noticed he had a swim team card. I deduced it was probably lost by one of the students taking part in the YMCA National swim meet at the Swimming Haul of Fame.

I put on my singlet running top but had no shorts with me.  I went over to the Swimming Haul of Fame pool complex, which is located just a block back from the beach. It was mobbed.  Hundreds of teens and collage age kids in for YMCA Swim Nationals. I explained the deal to the lady in the entry booth, who told me she could not help me and told me to go in and find the people running the event. I then had to walk in and across the main deck, past the bleachers and between the pools, to find the announcer. Meanwhile the pools, decks and bleachers are filled with older teens and collage age kids working out, hanging out or just sitting around. 

I heard some comments as I walked by like, "Look that man's wearing a thong". What people are wearing is a big issue for them.  Partly becuase of everyone having to wear their teem swimming kit, and the girls are not allowed to wear bikinis but forced to wear their team one piece suits. So for them to see someone in a thong in the middle of this mayhem was obviously worth commenting on.

My singlet covered the top half of my thong so from the front it just looked like the bottom of a brief speedo, so only those who saw me from the side or back who would have noticed, and of course anyone in the pools looking up.

I found the announcer. He called for the person who owned the wallet, who never came. Meanwhile I am up front with the meet announcer waiting while he continues running the event. Eventually the coach of the Washington team came and got the wallet, thanked me and shook my hand. By this time there were quite a few people who were watching and wondering what's up with the guy in the thong.

I exited the way I had come, across the deck between the pools and past the bleachers. I had spent longer at the pool than I had planed. I had not intended to go in or walk across the pool decks inside.  So as I was exiting I was expecting and bracing my self for  a shouted comment or a wolf whistles, but there was none. Just a gentle murmur as I passed.

Maybe having seen me standing around for 10 minutes with the announcers they got over the novelty by the time I left. Maybe they thought that if the announcers had no problem with it they didn't either.  It seems to me that when someone in athority signals they have no problem with something other people just follow their lead. Either way, I was quite pleased with having the courage to go into the lions den and come out without experiencing a negative reaction or getting talked to by a 'concerned parent' or one of the meet staff.   Not an exercise for the faint of hart.

Several times when visiting thong-friendly motels or hotels where the pool is in view of the office anyway, I have gone to the hotel desk, wearing just my thong and ask about getting a pool towel.  Each time the hotel attendants were more interested in other things and did not respond, except at one motel where the attendant told me the time she was getting off work. 

I also wear just my thong to and from beach parking lots (not visible from the main road, I don't want to cause an accident) and have not gotten negative feedback, even when I stop at beach showers along the way to clean up and cool off. 

Probably the events which shook me up the most both happened in Ohio.  One happened on a day when I was at the beach and decided to hit the restroom.  The beach and restroom were set up in a way that it was impossible to get to one without passing the other.  There were no incidents on the way to the restroom, but as I walked back, a Ranger had planted himself and car in the road/parking lot which I had to walk through.  I just kept it together and waved and said HI as I walked by.  He nodded and said HI back and didn't say another thing even when my thong back became visible as I passed the patrol car. 

Another time I was hell bent on visiting a specific park and didn't know that they had a special event that day with a rock band and other things going on.  There were a half dozen Rangers, a few sheriffs and some game protection people there.  I spread out in the quietest part of the beach, and proceeded to slide my shorts off.  A little later a group of 5 or 6 late teen, near 20 type guys came along and set up around me.  Not one said anything about my swimsuit, but they carried on their conversations as if I wasn't there. 

At one point they were shooting silly string at each other, and I got coated.  They apologized for getting me stringed, but it was sort of fun and didn't hurt, so I didn't mind.  Later, they offered to get me something to drink, but I turned them down, and later when I went for a dip, they defended my space to others who wanted to squeeze in since nobody else was there.  Later several went back for more drinks and some BBQ food, and this time I offered to tag along to help them bring their stuff back, which they accepted.  The trip up to the BBQ stand ran me past most of the rest of those on the beach and again I didn't get any negative feedback, and only got friendly waves and HIs from the various patrol people who were running the show and the food stands. 

When I finally left, the kids who had set up around me admitted that they thought I was cool and they thought it was cool for their friends in other areas to see themselves with me, a brave thonger.  Again, no issues with patrons or authorities, although I thought I might get some flack from some. 

Since this occasion, I have found that at more busy beaches, at least in Ohio, I tend to have less problems.

 My first brave moment in a thong was at a Dallas Hotel.  I went to the gym, which had a sauna, and stripped down to a JS white thong.  Then I headed to the pool and swam a few laps.  I knew that I would be trapped, as the towells were near the pool and I had no idea how many folks were swimming.  I went anyway and found the pool to be populated by 10 people.  No guys in thongs or bikinis or even a square cut.  A few girls in bikinis.  I entered and the guys made a few comments, but the girls came to my rescue and asked me to join them.
They told me that loved my suit and we chatted a while.  All the time, the guys were snickering.  Then they asked if I had another Thong with me, and of course there was another in my locker.  They begged me to go get it and I did.  I gave it to them and  they gave it to one of the guys and taunted him until he tried it on.  Funny thing is that the guys who were chastising me, then turned on the "main" guy.  He went and cam back sporting an Ergowear Navy Blue Thong and ran and jumped in the pool.  His mates hooted and hollared.  He swam and showed off his buns and everyone screamed.  
Then the pool was shut down by the Night Patrol and I thought, OMG - I have to go to locker room with these guys.  My heart pounded.  I was truly scared.  We left and went to the locker room.  When we arrived, I went immediately to shower.  When I came out, no one said anything.  The "main" guy then asked if he had to give the thong back.  I said no, and off they went.  Funny thing is that he did not change.  I think that I converted him to thongs and gave his buddies something to think about!

 Just for fun my wife and i walked  the length of Polehale  State park beach on Kauai I had on a fishnet baggie and she had on a cage string bottom and was topless. It was during the week and there were not many people and a few that we saw were nude, so they weren't alarmed it was just the thought of being a mile+ away from your clothes that felt daring

 That distance between you and any your clothes, or any other good way to cover up is definitely the thing that will get your blood flowing.  On my recent trip to Miami Beach, I would go out to the beach each night well after sunset, and if there was no one I could see nearby, I's strip off my shorts and thong, and walk along the shoreline completely nude.   This was nowhere near Haulover, so certainly illegal, but that would require being seen, and then caught!
I figured to some degree that since I have very strong thong tan lines, maybe it would look like I was wearing a white thong if you didnt' look too close.

A couple nights I walked nearly a mile up the beach and then back, with nary a stitch on.  The farther away my clothes were, the bigger the rush.  Only 1 time did I run into anyone close enough that I was busted.  It was 2 women, probably in their mid 30s, who decided to go for a moonlight splash in the surf.  I didn't even see them there, and walked within about 5 feet of them before I noticed, and of course by then, it was way too late to do much of anything except say good evening and wave.  They just giggled and I continued on my way.  I love Miami!

I guess that isn't really a brave moment in a thong, since my thong was nowhere near at the time!

My wife had invited her best girlfriend over.  I knew her girlfriend fairly well, but I also knew that my wife is very possessive about my body. They were in the rec room next to the pool.  I needed to walk through the room on the way to the pool.  I decided not to bother with a robe or a towel.  I chose a white thong which is see-through when wet.

As I entered the room, they looked straight at me.  My wife said: "What's going on?"  I replied that I was going for a swim. 

Her girlfriend said: "What's that?" as she looked toward my thong.  I told her it was a thong and she said she had never seen one.  She asked why I was wearing it and I said that I was usually swam nude, but put it on as she was visiting.  She told me she didn't mind if I swam nude.  I started to remove the thong, but my wife told me to keep it on.

I took my swim, partially dried in the sun and returned to the rec room.  My wife had left the room, but I didn't know when she would return.
Her friend took a quick frontal view of me--the thong was still totally sheer at this point and hid nothing-- and then lowered her head as I walked by.  I'm sure she raised her head for a back view.

After the friend left, my wife and I started laughing uncontrollably.
She has since told me that she won't mind if I remove the thong when her friend visits next summer, but that I should do it outside and she will find an excuse to get her friend to accompany her to the window.  The idea is that I should not let on to her friend that I know she's watching me.  I plan on taking a few back-flips into the pool.  I haven't told my wife about that part.

This was my best day thonging ever! Spent the day at Clearwater Beach (FL) in only a g-string. It was a crowded summer day, lots of people, didn't see any kids. Lots of nice looks, comments, and photos (no one asked, just took from a short distance away, fine with me). Took several looong walks along the beach, everyone enjoyed the sight! Very exhilorating! Left with some very sexy tan lines!

FL Man   You are very lucky that it is the offseason at Clearwater Beach, because thongs and g-strings are illegal.

How long have they been illegal? And by whose authority? Lifeguards never say anything, lots of other thongs around...

FL Man  I was told by the head lifeguard 4 years ago to cover my ass, and the city of clearwater, has those rules in written form. If it has changed recently, then I and others, are missing out on a nice beach. I have thonged from Sand Key to st pete and at the fort, and at ben davis with no problems.

Last night, whilst I was in a take-away food store, a lady wearing a thong and small bikini top walked in with a guy.  He placed their order. She wandered around for a bit, stood outside on the pavement (it was a hot night) until their order was ready.  No one said anything but a few raised eyebrows and some smiles!

Dare I suggest that it was almost regarded as nothing out of the ordinary ?!?!?

I actually saw a similar incident once at the CVS up near the Delano hotel in south beach.  It was pretty late at night and some sorta skanky looking girl walked in with just a black thong bikini on.  Bought some cigarettes and left.  The only thing that struck me was that it was pretty late at night, so i doubt she was coming off the beach.  I learned never to really question anything you see in south beach

I washed my dads car one afternoon in a white g-string after the tie in the shorts I was wearing broke. I was washing away out the front of my parents place one afternoon and after they kept falling down to my ankles and I just kicked them off. Lucky we didn't live on a busy street!

This august I went to the beach in Copenhagen. I was wearing a black thong underneath my board shorts. The beach wasn't crowded at all so after a while I decided to strip down to my thong. I went for a swim and did a bit of running on the beach. Guess a couple of people spotted me and it felt great. Thongs on men are really not that common in Copenhagen.

It's not really brave compared to others but it was for a beginner like me. I slept over at my friends house one day and woke up at my usual early time of 6. He is a late sleeper so I decided to go for a swim in his pool. I had worn a swimsuit thong under my boxers to his house and decided to brave it in that since no one was up and I couldn't find board shorts. I swam for about 1 hour in my thong with his cat watching. Then as I was just treading water, his grandma comes out. (It's her house) I got really nervous and swam to the side so I would be partially hidden. She asked how long I had been swimming and I answered an hour. I then explained I couldn't find a swimsuit and went in my underwear. She said that's fine and went back in. I continued to swim for about 20 minutes and finally get out. By now the sun is out and I decide to lay out in a chair. I had to put the towel under me so I wouldn't get her padding wet. Then, she comes out again. I can't just suddenly make a big show of taking the towel out and wrapping myself so I just try to lay still. It gets worse when, being still a hormonal teenager, I get "excited" at the fact that someone was going to see me in a thong. So I put up my feet on the chair, which unfortunately then exposed my rear. She walks up and says that she is going to the market. She's wearing glasses so I can't see her eyes. She leaves to her garage, which is behind the pool. Thanks for reading.

At Twin Lakes Beach in Santa Cruz.  It was a busy day.  I decided to walk in my Skinz thong and go over to the outdoor shower to rinse off the salt water.   I was about 150 yards away from the shower.  When I left my spot there was no one there.  By the time I got there there were 2 18 year old girls ahead of me and couple of 18 year old guys behind me.  One of the girls like my choice of swimwear.  I waited my turn rinsed off and then walked back to my towel.

Out at fairly major tourist area on the weekend and there's a young couple strolling along the side of the road.  Presumably they'd been swimming because she was wearing her thong bikini and a backpack.

I don't know how brave it is, but when my wife and I go to the North Shore of Oahu we will stop in a little gas station on the way and get ice and snacks and even pump gas in our G-strings.  This is not overly brave since we have come to know the owner of the store and he has passed us while we were laying on the beach and was aware of what our beach wear is.  It is probably more of a shock for tourists who are passing by or who are shopping for snacks 

I consider that to be brave! 

I'm happy to wear thongs on the beach and will happily go nude even on non-nude beaches.  I drive nude or in a thong on my way to or from the beach. 

But I guess its the context of where the thong is being worn.  I guess the "average person" (whoever that is!) just doesn't expect to see a thong in a store, or pumping gas.

My bravest moment was in Devon.
I had spent a nice day on Scabbcombe beach and it was nice and hot and had been sunbathing in the nude,i thought should i be brave enough and walk along the coastal footpath in my thong.
I must have walked sometime before i saw anyone i passed them and they did not say a word except hello.
Ihave even been brave enough to walk the footpath in the.but keeping my thong handy just in case anyone came along.

 Mangus..I think I was there that day dude!..heh..heh..I aint that brave yet..I'll go to bonny doon and laguna and walk around in a thong but not inside Santa Cruz..When my cousin lived up Rodeo Gulch in Soquel, She used to prance around topless in a thong and I would either wear my speedos or thong..but that was just with her and my other cousin and their close friends

This is going back a few years but I was laying out on Pass A Grille Beach, Floirda south of the Don behind a row of beach home with some sand dunes. I noticed this girl (22+) carrying a large jug of salt water back to her condo, on the second trip I approached her and asked her if I could help her carry the water, she was finding it to be heavy to carry back & forth. I was in my skimmpy gstring multi color purplish print. It was late in the afternoon around 4 and I had a dark tan from sunning all day. Well she took my offer for help and I carried about 4 trips for the Gulf to her condo about 400 yards. She would take the water from me when she went in the condo to fill the fish tank and I waited on the patio (First Floor). When we finished the last trip she thanked me for being so helpful. While we made the trips we talked about the beach, sun and my suit was brought up. She said how carefree I was in my choice of suit and that more guys should were my type of swim attire. She had a yellow two piece bikini on. We chatted for awhile and then headed back to the beach and a neighbor female popped her head out of her door and said hello to her I think so she could get a peek. She wave to me with a nice smile! That was a good deed I did that day and it felt great!

I decided to go lay out in the sun today, and the weirdest thing happen to me: I went to my usual spot out on the river bend, and after a few hours of being there this airplane flew by. This person saw me form up there.
He /she made a few circles around to get a better view.  They went around three times over me . On the third one they where right over me. So I gave them view. I laid on stomach with my turquoise j.s. g-string.  I hope they liked it. I just wonder who they are.

Well, Odie, they must have liked what they saw or they wouldn't have wasted all the gas to look you over.  Congratulations on being the "star" of  the show you put on for them today!  I bet they will talk about it for days!
