Date Posted:01/15/2009 01:05:31Copy HTML Lately I have become intrigued with the idea of a man's once piece thong suit like this one (http://backwild.com/shop/detail.php?seq=1328&kw=) at Backwild.com. I don't know why the thought of wearing a suit like this at South Beach is exciting to me but it is. Maybe because it is so different and unusual or perhaps the feminine aspect is the attraction.
In any event, I recently had Dore make me a custom one piece thong suit which I find fabulous to wear. It is just too bad that I can't in public (a non thonging wife and kids now makes my South Beach g-string daze only a memory). I wonder what an over 40 woman would think of a man in such a suit? I wonder if there are others here who might feel like myself? Anyone? cheers |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/15/2009 09:24:03Copy HTML I have a Dore suspender suit similar to that. The back is almost identical, but the front has much less fabric. The one in your link has too much material in my opinion. The Dore one has straps going down to the pouch area instead of a big piece of fabric like that. The Dore also has a push out pouch which looks nicer imho. It's one of my favorite suits.
As for over 40 women's opinions, my 50 something massage therapist liked it when she saw me wearing it. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/15/2009 09:52:32Copy HTML This sort of underware is commonanly sold in German gay stores. Go to ebay in Germany http://www.ebay.de In the men's section ( Herrenbkleidung ) type Stringbody and remember to Artikelbezeichnung und Beschreibung einschließen You will find it is common and made by many different makers. The one you have a link to would be totally inappropriate for a man to wear on a public beach because it is see through. It would even be totally inappropriate for south beach. Behavior like that gets thongs and thongers a bad name. Then they write a law to ban them, like they are doing at Fort De Soto park in Florida. Thongs for men to wear at the beach should not be transparent. Not only that, if you did wear it in public you would look completely stupid. (At least in my eyes.) While I am very supportive of thongers in general, I have to tell you that if you turned up wearing that we all would laugh and make fun of you. You would look less ridiculous if you turned up in a pink feather boa, high heals and a pantry girdle. You would also be less likely to be arrested. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/15/2009 10:09:39Copy HTML JM
I'm sorry, but I think you are a bit harsh... I never said "that" suit in particular as I know that fully see through like that is unacceptable, but it was the only photo of an example I had found on the net. I was really speaking from a hypothetical as I explained in my post. Again, I was fully aware that many, if not most, would not find any such suit appealing. I was just wondering if I was alone in the thought of wearing such a suit being desirable. I personally believe that if a couple were to both wear a one piece thong suit on South Beach then there might actually be admiration from those others on the beach who normally would be envious of such a couple. A single man might as well have a bull's eye painted on the suit with young men taking aim at him although you might note that I also asked if an older woman would feel similarly. I think that they might very well like the sight, especially if the man wearing the suit was reasonably fit. I wished you had not questioned my post as implying that a single person's unacceptable behavior does not have negative consequences for all thongers. When it comes to giving fellow thongers a bad reputation, you may recall a thread I started more than a year ago where I highlighted a photo I found on Flikr of an obese Rush Limbaugh lookalike parading on a Florida beach wearing a yellow tie-side suit. You might also recall how I spoke of the same opinion regarding that particular man as you are now. While exercising his personal right to wear that suit, he was also violating societies right to not have a man so plainly unsightly in their midst and cause a resultant visual offense. Many on the board felt otherwise and there was quite a lively debate as a result. I am the first to say that as a group thongers cannot wear whatever they want & wherever they want. Please try to understand the context of my original post and my previously demonstrated condemnation of the very same unacceptable display you speak so loudly against. Thank you. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/16/2009 05:05:22Copy HTML Sorry I jumped down your throat, but right after the link to the fully transparent suit you did say "'the thought of wearing a suit like this at South Beach is exciting to me" so it was reasonable for me to assume you were talking about wearing a transparent leotard like that on our beach. Only haulover beach legally allows you to go nude, in which case you don't need any suit. On the other hand South Beach, where you are proposing wearing the suit, does not allow nude or transparent suits on men: It is ilelegal to wear a transparent suit, and the suit you linked to is incredibly transparent. This month I am a bit touchy about people pushing the limit in ways that are clearly not legal, becuase a few people have done that for kicks over in Pinelles county, and now they are out to ban any swimsuit that even looks like a thong. I agree that suits that are not transparent are another story, and I agree that women often look good in thong leotard type suits, but I am still not convinced that a man would not look silly and Borat like, if he wore a thong leotard to the beach, even if accompanied by a women in a similar suit. There is a big difference between a thong leotard ( stringbody) and a suspender thong, and a big difference between that an a normal thong. As a general rule of thum, even if you have the body to wear a suspender thong you would look better in a norml thong.... and although I have been around tropical beaches for 33 years, and have just about seen it all, I have never seen a man able to 'pull off' wearing a thong leotard on a public beach without looking totaly rediculus. That's not to say this look would not work at a private gay pool party, but then that's a tottaly diffrent kettle of fish. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/16/2009 06:03:23Copy HTML JM,
You are right that my choice of words and picture was not the most appropriate and could be misconstrued. If there were a non seethrough suit to show, I would have. Whether odd or not, I still like the idea of the one piece leotard type suit for a man, but like you I do find the idea of the suspender (ie. Borat) style suit to be ridiculous. In fact the Borat movie was downright painful to see (not that would pay good money for the insult!) How that idiotic farce made it to major distribution shows the great abyss to which Hollywood has plunged. Anyway, glad that we are ok with eachother. I like this forum and don't want to be exhiled to the wilderness. cheers |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/16/2009 08:19:28Copy HTML Definitely not my cup of tea.
Personally I think they look grotesque on a man, and can give ammunition to the anti-thonger (male) cause. I think they are so distasteful, that I would rather wear a tuxedo with a tail at the beach. I hope you change your mind. Does not look good AT ALL. John Howard |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/16/2009 10:54:45Copy HTML I'm right with you JM
It really just does look like you have a woman's suit on. (Sorry to the fans on this one, but...) I think it is just like wearing tie-side suits. There ARE some places a man just should not go... Before you howl me down, I know a thonger should have a more 'accepting' and 'liberal' attitude to this, but I can only counter that point (and if you think about it, probably back you up) by saying 'you cannot really help what you like'. Another point for another topic I guess, but I do believe that we are not really in control of what we like and don't like, and what turns us on. You can't really be in control of what attracts you, but you are in control of how you act upon it. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/16/2009 01:08:57Copy HTML Here's a thought: ridiculous as it looks, maybe the Borat lime-green sling has done us thongers some good just because it is ridiculous. It appears all over now, in races (Bay to Breakers, New York & London marathons, to name a few), on John Mayer prancing on ship deck, and who knows where all. The point is, the public sees it and chuckles, a fun stunt with bare ass, no harm done. On the other side, the stuntsman has worked up the courage to bare his ass in public, so the idea of showing skin gains ground. What starts as a silly stunt may, we can hope, grow into a more general acceptance of thonging, especially when good thongs look good on good bodies, and the guys with good bodies gain confidence to thong in public with confidence and pride. Just a thought.

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/16/2009 02:36:02Copy HTML People should remember that men worn one piece suits right up to WWII although they didn't have scoop backs and had a boycut hem. Still I think we can agree that a fit man need not look ridiculous in a one piece suit. A thong rear does push things and I really never thought a single guy should were one solo unless surrounded by women who would naturally enjoy the company of a thong wearing man (ie. 40+).
If someone knows a beach where such women are to be found regularly please post it here. If there ever is a group who appreciate the thong or g-string wearing man, they are it. If I was single again and looking, I wouldn't waste 15 seconds on young women...give me an "experienced" lady any day. If she is fit and confident, then she is truly sexy! |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/16/2009 04:59:16Copy HTML I think wearing a one-piece, pre-WWII suit could be fun, but only as a costume clearly evoking the era, in special circumstances like a parade, party, even a race, like Bay to Breakers. But I'd never wear a thong-back one again. Did it once on a cruise while drunk for a cross-dressing contest. Nearly earned me a divorce! (Must have danced too realistically, like I was really owning the role.) Heck, I'm a conservative yankee, just not into that kind of stuff, and both my wife and I now watch my liquor intake carefully. No repeats, thank you.

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/20/2009 09:47:09Copy HTML Hi Mykro
Yes, that is the exact one I have, except mine is green/blue pattern. Don't get down on what others think. Ridiculous to one person is attractive to another. For case in point, when my massage therapist saw me in that suspender, she said "I like your thing!" I have slingshots that are much more explicit than the suspender and haven't received any negative comments about them either. I choose this suit when miniml is not appropriate, or walking from the parking lot to my final beach destination. Important considerations are your physique and the color. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/23/2009 06:18:31Copy HTML Hello Mykro
I really like the rear view of that suit! The front has a bit too much fabric for my likes, but it's a nice suit overall. Do the shoulder straps stay on your shoulders okay? Or do they tend to slip off a lot? Srqthong: Yes those suspenders would be more appropriate in certain circumstances. The white one looks the best in my opinion. If you use that for walking from the parking lot to the beach, what do you wear when you get to the beach? Do you wear something underneath that? Or do you change when you get to the beach? Looks like there's a few of us who are suspender/slingshot fans! |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/23/2009 01:37:48Copy HTML Do others agree with me that there's a big difference between suspender suits and slingshots? I've never owned the former, and never will -- just don't like them, but I had a Dore VLC sling once, chosen because it was so minimal. Even exposed a bit of pubes. God, did I feel naked! I loved it, but got rid of it at a time when I was trying to calm down and stick to decent thongs and strings. My test now, I think, would be my willingness to post a photo in my Profile Images, face included. If not, then I ask myself why I want to wear such a suit. I'm trying to mend my ways. Anybody else feel like a moralist!?

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/23/2009 01:53:17Copy HTML nice to know that I am not alone liking that suit..anyway to answer your questions:
1. the photo is of a similar suit which used to be sold by a company named BackWild in Japan. Soon after I copied this photo from their website they dropped the suit from their line but they still have several men's one piece thongs suits at their site which you should check out. 2. I had Dore make the shoulder straps with a connector at the waste so they could be worn as shown in the photo or be worn crossed behind the back. I found that wearing crossed in more secure and just as comfortable. I especially want to explore one piece suits while Dore is still able to sew and sell custom suits. Her business is simply the very best and willingness to make custom designs and sew them so well is icing on the cake. I hope that she is around for years to come. As far as designs for men's one piece suits go, I also have found that I really enjoy doing amateur suit design and have several designs which you may really like. I'll upload them into My Images very soon and post the link here: http://zone.aimoo.com/photo/mykro/men-s-designs-644767 Right now I am only able to unload four but hopefully soon I'll be able to post the rest I have...some are pretty cool imo |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/26/2009 11:11:53Copy HTML Hello Mykro When you say Dore put a 'connector at the waist', what do you mean? Do you mean the shoulder straps unhook at the sides and then hook up to the g-string part at the back? Do you have a photo of this movable connector? The link you posted does not work. I can get to the link itself, but the images don't appear.

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:01/27/2009 11:58:18Copy HTML Thank you to all for your positive support...these designs are only for a very small subset out of an already small group at this forum. They are obviously not for all but it is nice that someone other than myself likes these.
In any event, I started another thread earlier at this board at http://thongboard.aimoo.com/Swimsuit-Companies-and-Styles/amateur-swimwear-fashion-desig-1-1233781.html to discuss the fun of engaging in amateur swimwear design. Only a very small fraction of what I have come up with for both men and women is posted in my images here. I have put up most of the men's designs I have on Flikr at http://flickr.com/photos/15857328@N00/sets/72157602268978965/ where you're welcome to check them out. I know that some are really way far out there but none are "exposure" suits like Koala's...they just are very different and most will be seen as strange, but hey, it's just imagination at work here nothing more. Anyhow, after you check them out comment if you'd care to. Like you Leopard, I am love the thought of matching suits so have come up with several which are designed with look alike suits for each sex. I know that Dore will sew a man's custom suit and can't imagine why she couldn't sew one for a woman as well. Thanks again for the support |

Thanks for the positive words... I have no way to do anything with them other than to just draw them as a new interesting hobby and thus make them available to anyone who wants to take my designs and have a custom suit made by Dore. If you tell her I referred her, she might sew me a suit for gratis if I send her enough business. I certainly don't worry that anyone will take them to use commercially (unless Dore wants to try who I welcome to use my designs if she can sell them)...the market for these type of suits can me measured in the dozens per year. I would want as many men who want to wear such suits to enjoy them and I am just glad that Dore makes that possible |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:02/09/2009 02:34:31Copy HTML I'd really love to be able to wear something along these lines to the beach. I also understand where the nay-sayers here are coming from. I don't personally like suspender thongs and I think 'Borat' has made the possibilities of a man wearing a one-piece to the beach without being totally laughed at miniscule (no matter how good he looks), as they would be associated with 'jokey' students and fancy-dress idiots who turn out as Borat for a laugh.
For many years I've occasionally worn thong-back dance leotards to the gym, for yoga, cycling and running (with my bottom half covered with lycra shorts and usually a t-shirt or cycling top over). Occasionally when younger and slimmer I've opted to use the top half as outer wear, with nothing over, but you have to be brave as you certainly turn heads, especially as they often ride up to expose the thong rear! On one particularly brave day out with my wife I only wore a pair of jeans and a thong leotard with a short denim jacket. Very risky.... The only time I've felt uncomfortable with the situation has been changing after the gym. I have received some very bemused stares whilst changing: even more than showering in a thong swimsuit or naked when completely shaved. Best of luck to anyone brave enough!!! |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:02/12/2009 08:13:31Copy HTML I have made some slingshot one piece suits which I wore to tBondi bBeach in Sydney a few years back. It had a small pouch front and strings over the shoulders. I tanned in it for a few hours and also went swimming a couple of times. I got heaps of looks and smiles, and several people trying to take photos. It was a pretty positive experience, and was quite a blast. No one really seemed to bothered. I think Borat has made it a possibility which it wouldn't have been before.

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:02/12/2009 01:49:00Copy HTML For me a slingshot is really not quite a one piece just it would not be with women's swimwear. I think on women, a one piece thong suit with a deep plunging neckline and the thigh cut very high and deep plunging back is more sexy that even a g-string. It has something to do with presentation that is akin to the difference between nude and string. Wearing a string has just a wee bit more of exoticness attached to it imo.
What I wished if the world would accept a man in a very provocatively cut one piece thong but alas it is just hard enough getting the world to accept us in simple thongs and g-strings yet alone something even more exotic and dare I say it...feminine! I think the only way a man could get away with it is if he were with a woman and they were wearing matching suits. I think it would be had to label a man as gay when with a woman in a quasi sexual environment as when on a beach or by a pool together and the woman was showing that she was liking her man in such a suit. It is very sad that there is really no society in the world where a man can display any femininity (at least flying sols) without being labeled as homosexual. I wonder what it is like for a man in a very liberal society like Sweden's? It is innate in the species or is it simply conditioning? |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:02/12/2009 05:17:43Copy HTML There's nothing wrong with being called gay, mykro. In fact, perhaps the reason that gay men are so comfortable wearing erotic swimsuits is that they've already violated the fundamental sexual rule: men have sexual relationships with women. Once that rule is broken, all other gender expecatations seem miniscule. So perhaps if you're willing to be "gay" (that is, let go of the gender expectations within you), you'll find that others' opinions don't matter much at all. As Gandhi once said, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
As I said before, if you made such suits, I'd buy one, and if you live in the Boulder/Denver area, I would even go to a beach or lake in one of them with you. :) |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:02/12/2009 05:50:18Copy HTML Please don't misinterpret me...I am not condemning homosexual men. I just happen not to be one and just don't want others in society to think automatically that I am.
For a hetero man, I actually have a good understanding that everyone of us men has a part of our psyche that is part feminine and that most men would deny to their death that they did. On the otherhand I know that have a part of me that is feminine and am just saying that it is frustrating that can't can be expressed in any way other than in a very private place. I wish this were not the case and that wearing something like a one piece thong just somehow might not be seen as the "ultimate" queer thing to wear. As we all know, society is not often an easy place to live. cheers |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:02/12/2009 06:26:58Copy HTML No worries, mykro. I didn't think your intentions were to condemn gay men. :) I agree with you that society is often not an easy place to live. Each time you wear one of your "feminine" suits, you chip away at the idea that such a suit is the "ultimate queer thing to wear". And each time you wear whatever suit or thong you want, you put some good stereotype-destroying energy into the universe. But I'm sure you know all this. Just wanted to say I understand and keep thonging! :-D

Judging by this thread, they have a market and if you're into this sort of thing... you be you. But it's not us, and to be 100% truthful, we'd probably have a good snicker seeing a male wear one on the beach, (while undoubtedly, others snicker at our swimwear choices)

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:04/03/2019 01:09:19Copy HTML I'm inclined to agree with JayByrd. When selecting my thong for the day I have a lot of chocies. I often reject good looking thongs because they covers more, and so leave larger tan lines. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:04/03/2019 01:53:23Copy HTML I forgot to include this in my previous note... In an era when women are fighting for, and in some cases winning their top-freedom, it seems odd that men want to go the other direction.
But like I said.. you be you!

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:04/03/2019 01:54:28Copy HTML I have seen men in one piece thongs on the beach and thought it an odd choice. But I can think of several reasons why a man might choose to buy a one piece thong. It combines thong underwear and a tank top like a leotard for a nice neat fit under shorts or jeans. Allows you to even up pale legs and buttocks with a tan torso, etc. Those are a couple of practical reasons. However, if you are on this board thongs and minimal swimwear are probably a lot more than something practical to you. When you like the look and feel of something, you just can’t help but want wear it. Maybe you wear it at home to begin with, but then you can’t help wanting to wear it outside. It’s almost an addiction. Some people collect athletic shoes or hats. We collect thongs. I have a couple of suspender thongs which most people would consider totally ridiculous on a man even BEFORE “Borat.” But they look and feel sexy and are exciting to wear. So once it a while I put one on and wear shorts and a shirt over it until I get to an uncrowded spot on the beach. Then I strip down to my Borat thong and lay out in the sun or go for a swim, and have a little fun and enjoy the freedom. |

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:04/04/2019 04:39:29Copy HTML While I might not find all clothing choices flattering for all people, and some looks totally ridiculous, that does not mean I will not support a person's right to wear what they please (as long as they cover everything they legal need to cover.)
Virtually every one of us wants more tolerance towards thongs and minimal swimwear in general. Some people do not like this look, but we want them to change their opinions. So if a man wants to wear a "one piece thong" or another chooses to wear draggy baggy pants, or a woman chooses clothing that covers more than normal, lets give them the same acceptance that we want them to give us. Let them wear what they want, and try to keep any negative feelings about their clothing too ourselves.

Re:one piece thong suits for men Date Posted:04/11/2019 03:09:59Copy HTML I want to sincerely thank Cicada3 for turning me on to Bilelika's store on eBay. I think many of Gennady's designs are quite exciting and I have already placed my first order with him for three suits. Two for me and one for my GF
