Where do I start, Ex wife (Got her wearing thongs/Strings) Ex Mother in law,Sister in law,Ex wifes best friend(also we got her wearing thongs!) Best friends wife, they were all told about my preference for wearing thongs. Got some good comments. Latest ex girlfriend who loved them to start but said that I was getting too old for thongs, possibly one of the reasons we split up?

Anyone who has seen me on various beaches throughout Europe and in the Gym changing rooms although I don't flaunt it.

One of the most interesting times was around twenty years ago. Here in Scotland it is popular for men
to wear at wddings full Highland dress ie Kilts etc as oppossed to Morning suits. Now the full regalia costs a pretty penny so the alternative is to hire.It is true that a true Scotsman will be commando under his Kilt although this is being discouraged /banned by the hire companies these days.

My favourite story happened when I went to get fitted for a hire. First I got measured up by an extremly attractive lady probably 4-5 years oldr than myself and then discussed he Tartans available before selecting Kilt Jacket shoes etc and going into the cubicle to change. After a few minutes the lady asistant came over and asked from outside if I was ok? I relplied I was just about ready as she had earlier ascertained that I had worn Kilts before and could manage. When I exited the cubicle she cast an eye over me checking the fit before pulling up the kilt higher on my waist then she ran her fingers around the waist line and found out that I was wearing a Hom Fredy thong underneath, she asked me to tighten the belt to see if I needed another size and after again ran her fingers down the back of my kilt and this time unmistakenly lingered on the V of the back of my thong even sliding a finger top down my crease a little. We agreed that everything was fine and was told to get changed again and she would sort my order meantime. I could see that she had positioned herself at the desk in such away that she could observe the changing cubicle and I did not disappoint by deliberatly leaving a sufficient gap to see me strip off to my thong rehang the kilt etc, then readjust my semi fully aware that I was being observed by her because of her reflection in the miror. I put back on my clothes and went to confirm the order and nothing was said by either o us. I certainly enjoyed the experience and told my girlfriend and found this quite a turn on.

Around a year later another wedding  and back to the same hire shop  it was very busy but she obviously remembered and made a beeline to serve me and again a similar touching/feeling happened although I caught her looking up my kilt as I knelt to tie the laces of my brougues. Again no words were spoken regarding my underwear but I did get a brief flash of stocking tops as she adjusted a suspender as she waited for me to complete changing.

As I say nothing ever happened as she was married  and I was engaged  but I often wonder what It did for her sex life or indeed did her man wear thongs or does he now do so because she certainly was interested in mine.

To finish this story I happened to bump into this lady recently and this coincides with reading this thread I am sure she remembered me as I received a wonderful smile from an attractive face and body as I did almost twenty years ago.

Some of my friends, my mum and so I assume my dad also, my nan, ex-girlfriend, girlfriend, some colleagues, obviously shop workers, one of my lecturers (saw my whale tail, accidentally) and random people at gym and launderette. I'm sure many people walking behind me have also noticed the outline under my trousers (I never wear jeans) but not much has been said.

My Hairdresser, who I have used for years, now knows I wear thong swimwear.  I had a late afternoon appointment at my hairdresser to get a trim.  I was out of town and stopped for a swim at the local state park which I usually stop at to take a dip and get some rays when I have time and the weather permits.  I was wearing some skimpy distressed cut-offs (2 inch inseam) with exposed front pockets and a t-shirt which I had cut off the sleeves and opened the sides to the waist -- I always dress a little suggestively at the hairdresser since my hairdresser seem to like it.  Some of the other hairdressers at the shop also get a kick out of seeing a man in suggestive clothing.

As usual, I had my thong on under my shorts instead of underwear, so stopping for a dip at the lake was easy and after swimming a while, I through my shorts on for my drive over to the hair styling place.  As I pulled the shorts on over my thong, I heard a rip.  Sure enough, my shorts had decided to become a little more distressed -- this time from the leg opening up towards the belt line in the front.  I checked it out and realized it was only about 2 inches long -- no big deal.  Besides I didn't have any other shorts with me and didn't have time to go home to change before I got my hair cut.  

As I got into the car "rip" and the tear had opened up to about 5 inches.  Now things were getting pretty interesting.  But I still decided to go ahead with the trim.  If anything, as each rip occurred, I became more interested in my hairdresser's reaction to the shorts that wanted to expose more and more skin by the minute.  As I slipped out of the car in the parking lot at the hair dresser there was a final rip -- and now the tear went almost all the way to the waist line.  I knew I was showing sections of leg that few men would dare to expose.

My hairdresser greeted me and took me back to the chair and sat me down for my trim.  "Cute shorts" she said as she followed me and admired the web of white threads and exposed patches of skin on my butt.  As I sat in the chair, she ask, "Did you just get out of the shower?" She had noticed my damp hair was from my earlier swim.  I explained that I had stopped at the state park for a swim on the way back to town, and my hair hadn't dried yet.  As she cut my hair, we chatted about the usual things -- our dogs, the weather, etc.   Then she said something about how she liked what I wore that day -- my shirt with the open sides and especially my shorts with the rip up the front.  "My husband spends hours trying to make his jeans and cutoffs look as disressed as yours are," she said.  

I explained about how until an hour or so ago they were perfectly normal shorts, and how they ripped the first time when I pulled them on at the beach over my swimsuit, and how they ripped a couple more times on my way over to see her.  

After she was done, I walked with her up to the counter where you pay.  She told the lady that collects the money to "check out his shorts."  I thought this was pretty neat.  The money lady ask something like "Are you worried about what people will see?"  My hairdresser told her that I had told her that I had pulled the shorts on over my swimsuit, so I wasn't going to show anyone any more than what they could see at the beach."  "You must have on an awfully tiny swimsuit," the money lady said.  That is when I admitted that I wore thong swimwear.  To my surprise, neither woman seemed at all surprised, and the conversation turned to the pros and cons of thong underwear and thong swimwear.  The money lady said she tried a thong once, but she didn't like it any more than wedgies she had had when wearing traditional panties.  My hairstylist admitted she had a few pairs of thong underwear, but that there was no way she would wear a thong swimsuit.  She said she felt "to ugly" to expose so much (a statement I objected too.)

I explained how my thong let me wear my swimsuit as underwear and let me take a dip anytime I wanted without having to find a place to change into a swimsuit.  I also explained that since there was very little material to soak up water, I could put my cloths back on with very little water soaking through my shorts.  The my hairdresser explained that her husband wore "swim briefs" exclusively, and hated board shorts and also hated boxer underwear.  "He doesn't like things dangling down there and likes some support.  I bet a thong would give him even more support.  I bet he probably would wear a thong swimsuit if I got him one," she added. 

Next the women took turns to tell me about places they had been where thong swimwear was acceptable, and how they liked the look on a good looking man.  They mentioned going places in Mexico, Florida, some of the nearby state parks.  Then the money lady said she had only gone one place where she had a bad experience with men in a thongs.  She and her husband and kids had gone down to Florida to some beach where you could see rocket launches, and a some of the men there proceeded to take their thong off, and that these men then walked around through the family groups waiting for the rocket launches with everything showing.  They later checked with some authority, and were told that they were not on a clothing optional beach and that the men were in violation of the law, but that with the traffic jams and other demands the rocket launch placed on the police department, they didn't not have anyone to patrol the beach for nudity.  The money lady told me how uncomfortable it made them feel, and hoped that I would not force myself on people when in the nude like these men had done.

"I guess anyone who wants to wear a thong swimsuit should be alowed to wear one, as long as they keep it on if it is not a nude beach," my hairdresser concluded.  "Maybe next time you come in, you could strip down to just your thong and let us decide if we like the look on you or not," she added.

I proceeded to set up my next appointment, and headed back home.  I wonder if I will do as she suggests next visit.  I am sure it would make it an interesting visit for everyone.

 Wasn't sure where to put this but here goes. On our recent trip to P.C. we were joined by my friend and his immediate family (wife and 3 kids).They are aware of my rio's and are cool with it. On their second day there he mentioned that his cousin and his wife and 2 kids were staying at a nearby resort and that he invited them over to hang out for a little while since they rarely get a chance to meet otherwise. So we recieved them in the lobby and took them to our area of the resort(I was wearing board shorts over my rio at this time). 
  We got to where the rest of the family was on the beach and every one had a chance to meet (very friendly family). so after the pleasantries we were starting to get hot so I said that I was going for a jump in the ocean. So I non chalantly took off the boardies and walked over to the ocean and jumped in , the rest soon followed me and we continued to chit chat and have beers etc. 
  I must say that I was a little nervous about it but they didn't seem to mind , so now these people know that I wear rio's. I don't think they know about my thonging yet but I thought it was kind of a cool story.

I think everyone knows. We make no attempts to hide our choices of underwear from people, if people see my thong - good for them. So yeah, I love it when people know I'm wearing a thong. If you're one of those people who are hiding it and constantly checking the length of their shirt or pulling up their jeans so their thong doesn't show - go and let someone catch a peek right now. Shuffle your jeans down to where they should be and go and pick something up. You'll give the onlookers a cheeky thrill and you'll feel awesome that you're not hiding your true self. Hiding away or denying your individualities and the little things that make you sparkle is one of the worst things you can do to yourself. 

They say that when all is said and done, the biggest thing people regret is the things they never tried. Next time you go to pull your jeans up, ask yourself this... do you really want to be laying on your deathbed in the closing hours of your life regretting something? My fiance knows, she has known since we got together 8 years ago. She has purchased thongs for me from department stores, and we have thonged together at beaches and pools as well.

The only other person that knows I wear thongs is my mother in law, she questioned my partner at first. But has since accepted this as who I am, she has no problem helping with the washing and folding my thongs or even if my thong is poking above my pants. I have never worn a thong in front of my MIL, just a speedo, I hope to wear a thong around her one day.

 My new girlfriend knows, I decided to break it to her after only a week, and I can say it was a great success. She really likes me in them. :)

 My sister in law found out when she helped fold laundry so  she could use the washer and dryer for her children's clothes. Nothing was said. I doubt she could care less. Otherwise,, besides my husband, I have no idea and no worries. What can be said? I wear thong underwear because it's the most comfortable cut for me. As a bonus I feel sexier in it too. 

 After my holidays last Christmas, and a camping trip last weekend, about 30 more people now know, and have seen them.

So, its fair to say that my entire family (all of them, family, cousins, many of the odd aunts and uncles, in laws and most of that family) knows, and occasionally teases me about my thongs and bikinis, especially my father in law. As a father of toddlers, I don't really have any friends/acquaintances anymore, but a few of the neighbors have seen me in the yard, and I told a few good friends at work (in conversation, not just outright).  These days, I definitely don't care who knows what I wear, be it thongs, or speedos, or even the purple lacy g-string I just bought. The only real trouble is on the rare occasion that I have to put some effort into explaining why Im wearing what Im wearing- a man gets tired of repeating himself sometimes.
